Sorry I’ve been a bit absent me and OH are having a mare trying to figure out a honeymoon. We have decided to want to tour America a little; however what we want is completely different to each other. He wants west coast and I want east, we were thinking of booking all the flights and accommodation separately as we have enough money for the flights and would hope we are gifted enough money to cover accommodation. However it’s risky yet leaving it last minute is also risky. We have had such a head ache over it that I think I’m giving up on the idea of even getting to America now! It’s so bloody big!!

I’ve opted to just sit under my desk at work and hope something is figured out. By this it really just means I’m messages OH cousin who is a travel agent for help and suggestions! Anyways back to the flow of things!

Forgot to say a honeymoon in America sounds amazing! I love the east coast but a road trip down the west coast from San Fran to San Diego was AMAZING! Highly recommend it.

However you are correct we do need aircon in our homes!!

I would do a road trip however Oh doesn’t drive so it would be me driving all the time and I do that here in the UK and thats annoying enough.

I really want to see NY but we think it may be something we have to go and do as just a holiday and not a honeymoon because we want to go everywhere.

I think we need to speak to a travel agent and know our options.

Only (irresponsible) suggestion I have would be put it all on a 0% purchases credit card and pay it off with the money your gifted. If your wedding money doesn't quite cover it you can chip away at it when you get home...

LMP – Thanks lovely! Its stressful and I think we are getting to the stage where you and your OH are and just giving up and doing something completely different to what we probably think about doing.

I did mention the CC as a last resort but he said no which I completely understand because we don’t want to get into debt over it, but at the same time the later we leave it are we going to be able to go somewhere awesome. It’s hard to know these things!

My OH has done neither yet Rebecca, but when he gets his arse in gear he'll be buying. It's only him and his two best men so not crazy and he just wants a normal suit he can wear again not one of those wedding suits (morning suits??? Don't know what they are called!).

Lui - could you stop off in New York for a couple of days before flying to the west coast? Not sure how much internal flights would be though.

Well as far as I know there's 2 beauty therapists, 1 MUA and 1 hair dresser.
So I'm a bit worried...
It would 8am start, with champagne and continental breakfast provided. Then 4 foot massages & 4 preparation facials followed by hair & make-up for me, MOH, BM & MOTB.
Well my make-up took 45 minutes at the trial, and my hair took an hour =/
They have a dressing service as well so they help us all get into our dresses, add jewellary, put on shoes etc without ruining hair or make-up

Just not convinced it's enough time...

Rebeccafcr - my OH and his BM both bought their suits as they wanted something they could wear again.
I did it for them online as their useless ?
We got them from Moss in the end, they still have a sale on I believe.

LMP – I’ve been looking, making my back up list, haha! Its almost as long as my list of things i still need to do haha! I think eating cake just seems so much easier right now lol! I’ve now moved my efforts on to skin care, this weather is making my skin all types of crazy so working a way of getting my skin to not be so mental. Like seriously how can the sun make my skin this crappy, thought it was meant to make it nice!?

Ok so if just you is 1hr 45 before any extras and getting ready I don’t think 8am is going to be early enough, I think you’re going to need to be earlier to be honest. The only thing I can think of is that they are less chatty and in the zone when they do it all so they take some time away. Although at the same time they are the professionals and do it all the time! Maybe they bring extra in for the day?

Today I’ve learnt that this weekend one of my friends is getting engaged in Paris on Sunday. Her OH is best friends with my OH and I’m so excited!! It’s nice that finally other people around me are planning and I’m not boring them, however it’s a shame it’s just towards the end of my planning haha! It’s always the way isn’t it!

I have been rubbish keeping up with this thread (mainly because I lost my wedding mojo) but I'm back on it now there's less than four months to go! I still get all the email notifications so I usually have a quick look when one of you guys flashes something, I just can't remember which flashes belong to which people but I've seen lots of lovely skulls and some awesome Dr. who invitations amongst other things, you all seem to be doing so well with the planning!

I'm having a productive week after months of doing naff all, I've finally booked my appointment to give notice in August, I ordered my dress last weekend, I've ordered Tottenham hotspurs cufflinks and garter, I can't wait to see his face when he sees a Tottenham garter on me as I don't like football and never take an interest in his team (which he takes very personally)

I know I have some date twins (31st) among you lovely bunch, I just can't think who so give me a wave whether you're a date twin or not and I promise I'll try to get better at keeping up with you all ?

Lui, I did offer OH the chance of getting married near the club/having the reception there but he said no which surprised me. We actually live in the west midlands so I'm glad as it probably would've made life a little harder. Is my memory right in thinking you are getting married at Nettle hill? and if so do you live nearby? Just wondering as we might live close to one another...

As for the dress, It's an Indian/English fusion. I wanted elements of both our cultures, I did consider wearing two dresses then discovered a few Indian dress shops that had English style dresses with lots of Indian bling so that's what I've gone for... when i go for my first fitting at end of Aug I'll flash you

it was supposed to be a halloween themed wedding over here which is why i went for hallowedding, it's fast becoming a halloween/Indian/English fusion/confusion which makes sense in my head just not sure how it'll turn out

I love the Indian wedding dresses, they always seem so colourful with loads of intricate detail. Unfortunately having zero Indian connections I don't think I could have got away with wearing one!
