Lui- there would never have been a venue war I know what you mean about the outside catering and I'm sure your venues food is awesome, it was just really important to me that we had authentic Indian food for the evening so I wasn't budging on it.

Thankfully OH bought his suit before he bought anything else, including my ring!

I'm spraying them black too as our colour scheme is black and white! Ohhhhh as ours is white that may mean I won't have to sand it down! Less work for me! Awesome!! ??

Hallowedding - I seemed to have a huge list at the 3 month mark as well but it's amazing how quickly things can get ticked off.

LMP - He's only got little jobs, not left him with anything important I'm sending him off to boots to get one of our engagement photo's printed for his mums photo frame, he's got a few evening invites to deliver, he's going to the cash and carry to get some sweets and I've asked him to book our airport parking for honeymoon. If all that gets done I'll be very impressed!

Lui - I know what you mean I've been asking oh to sand an old wooden pallet for me for about two months now (it's supposed to be our table plan). I think I'm just going to give up and do something else now because it's never going to get done!

Oh no LMP, what happened to your ring?!

I've been delegating like a pro. I've sent my mum off to ikea to get loads of candles and candlesticks! This is as far as my wedding planning has got this week. I need to start talking to estate agents to get our house on the market... ugh, not a pleasant task.

Lui - Being a spoilt panda, I actually have 2 engagement rings ... one my OH chose which I wear on my right hand due to the shape and one we chose together which I wear on my left. Naturally I've mangled the one my OH picked ☹️
I was running through the house this morning and caught my ring on the door handle, it's twisted completely out of shape. Took me almost half and hour to get it off, my finger was going blue ?
I hope Mummy Panda can make it better, I'm going to leave my engagement ring with her as I'm too tired busy and upset to add another thing to the list, especially since I now need to get new shoes.

I think everyone needs a spare one as you never know when you may need to take it off and not wear your normal ring. I may even get spare wedding ring for when I’m buy doing stupid things like the colour run, or the wolf run again.

Ohhhhh pointless information but today I got a 3 month secondment into my HR team, pretty happy, haven’t told anyone yet as I’m not sure if my team knows and don’t want to blurt it out if they are not meant to know.

Well exciting news everyone! I now have my wedding ring!! It looks amazing and fits really well with my ER. I have also ordered my wedding Converse for my flats in the evening (the ones with 'Mrs. Cooper' on them for those that helped me pick).

In other news, I am rather worried as I have just found out that apart from myself, only one other person has paid up for my hen do! Has this happened to anyone else? As a bit of an organisational freak, this is scaring me somewhat!

Ohhhh those converse are nice and i lived the Mrs cooper ones, means you could wear them again out and about.

Your hen do was what I wanted to avoid as i was really worried people would be like this so I made everyone buy their own place and complete the payment themselves however because ours is a music festival people had plenty of time to sort out money and knew the date they had to pay by ( a few people dropped out which is fine) but luckily everyone else sorted themselves out.

If i helps I dont feel on top of things and its coming up to the 3 ½ month mark.

My wedding ring is a 'flow shape' (more like a wishbone shape) that fits around my ER. It has 9 small diamonds in it and a millgrain (little dots that make it look vintage) around the edge of the diamonds.

As for the hen do, another turn for the worse...I play volleyball and there are loads of my friends from there that are invited. Thing is, there is a massive event that has come up that some of them need to be at but they have all decided to go. Now I think that there will be barely anybody at my hen do Thing is, if the tables were turned, I would be there in a heartbeat! I'm getting to the stage where I feel like I either don't want to have one anymore or that my friends aren't that loyal. I wanted to really look forward to it but am wondering how I really can now!

I am super excited about the Converse though! They should take 3-4 weeks so fingers crossed they look good and fit ok!

I had a rather productive day on Saturday as my best man and I managed to wrap up all of the thank you presents ?
After doing a mad dash round Card Factory everything is now all nicely wrapped and in pretty bags ... amazing considering we had a few drinks along the way ?
So relieved to have checked that off my list!
My confetti also arrived and it is lovely, am so chuffed with it. Highly recommend Shropshire Petals to anyone, although it was £2 per box I think it was well worth the money.

Lui - Aw bless your OH for doing all the dishes and recycling, he's a good 'un.

Ah I'm the opposite to you as I've always worn jewellery (my charm bracelet weighs a fair amount!) but I think it might take a while to get used to wearing a wedding ring & engagement ring together.
Poorly finger is back to its normal colour now, although I still have quite a dent in it! Still not sure if they can fix my engagement ring, Mummy Panda is going to get it looked at soon.

It's always so disappointing when people drop out of something that's been pre-planned and is such an important event. I know it's difficult to look forward to it now but remember, the ones that make the effort are the people you really need in your life ❤️

Hello ladies hope we're all well today!

Cat D - congrats on finding your ring! I must say, I took over my hen party planning as I'm a bit OCD and didn't trust anyone else to sort it! I'm sure people just put it to the back of their minds thinking it was months away. Hope you get it sorted.

LMP - does that confetti place do real rose petals? Our venue told us that's the only thing we can have in place of confetti and from where I've looked, it doesn't seem cheap!

We're getting there...OH got his suit at the weekend, only took three hours in the suit shop ? but that's done now. Next thing is to get the page boys in similar colours. We also managed to get our guest list down to around 110 now (I stopped responding to my thread as I thought I was getting some very harsh criticism in there lol!) So happy as well that all my family from down south are coming up for the day, will be lovely to see them all. We've sorted out the vows, readings etc with the registrar, sorted our music with the string quartet, oh and I ordered a cake topper from a lady on facebook who makes little fabric mice in outfits to match the wedding clothes! They're so cute, I'll try and put a pic underneath.

Getting my excitement back this week

Hi ladies, I’ve had a crazy morning, I had to leave work as OJH had to go to hospital as he had possibly broken his thumb, he works one end of the city and the hospital is the other side. So I had to leave work and take him. Apparently its not broken but his thumb no longer looks like his other thumb so the break either can be seen or he’s really badly hurt the muscle. That was an interesting morning, considering I work in the next town over as well doesn’t really help haha!

Cat – Your ring sounds lovely.

I’m sorry to hear about your friends opting to go to the volleyball presentation then your hen do. Maybe you could have two, one with the group who said they can go to your hen do and one with the ladies from your team? That way you can celebrate with everyone and you get two which is always a bonus!! Big hugs anyway lovely, dont let it get you down.

So I haven’t done much wedding things this weekend, however did complete my hen do shopping and test my tent which I’m happy about. This weekend was also OH, uncle’s wedding, we couldn’t go as it was in Cornwall and we just didn’t have the money or the time off work. However we were clearly a topic of conversation as OH got a message from a distance family member who he hasn’t seen for 6 or so years about them being upset about not being invited to the wedding. I told him to tell them if they pay £50pp they can come. When it’s not their money people seem to think they should be invited but when it’s their money they always think through it properly. People hey! Hahaha!

Absolutely Lui! We've had some of that since the invites went out, could I bring so and so...I'd never dream of asking!

Weddings do bring out the best and worst in people, probably brings out the worst in myself sometimes ha ha, keep telling myself it will all be worth it in the end.....?

That’s the same as us, as soon as the invites went out with that’s what happened to us. Annoying!

Hi all,

Firstly, apologies for being absent for so long. I've had a fairly stressful month or so and haven't really been in the right frame of mind to come online.

I went for my regular smear test in May, then got a letter in June saying that there were abnormal cells - understandably it was a big shock and I was very upset. I have been feeling very stressed about it waiting for my follow up appointment. I had to go to hospital on Friday for a Colposcopy and they confirmed that there were abnormal cells, said that they didn't look cancerous and carried out a Lletz treatment there and then. Have to wait now for results but the consultant seemed confident that he removed them all. Not allowed to do various things for 4 weeks while I heal - fiance has been amazing, really supportive and understanding. Feeling less stressed now - obviously will relax totally when I get the results.

I have also put my house on the market as we want to move to Lincolnshire as that is where my fiance works. Went on the market last week, and had 2 viewings on Saturday, one of which sounds promising, so fingers crossed. Has been stressful trying to get the house to look immaculate - hard with an 8 year old son. So if all goes well will be moving sometime over the summer.

Anyway, enough stress talk. Onto the wedding.

Only one reply to our wedding invites outstanding now - we gave an RSVP date of 15th July so still time. All positive replies too which is great :-)

And most exciting, we've started planning our honeymoon. Due to fiance's shift work we can't go away straight after the wedding, but we are going to go to the Canaries the last week of November. Going to stay all-inclusive at a beach resort for a week :-)

Plus, less than 3 months to go :-D

Right, I shall go and read back through the thread and try and catch up a bit with everyone. Not sure I like the new look of the page...
