Thanks all for your lovely comments about my WR and my Converse! I have also bought some little bits to make my own place name cards that will be the same colours as my invites and wedding colours. I will try and flash them when I have made a prototype (sometime in the next few weeks).

My 4 things are as follows so far:

Something old: Not sure
Something new: Dress and accessories
Something borrowed: Not sure
Something blue: There is a blue bow on my garter

I also have a sixpence for my shoe (often the thing that people forget!)

Also getting together with our florist soon to discuss all things floral and some table decs - yay!

My list is still as long as my leg but I'm getting there!

I met my new wedding coordinator on Saturday, she is absolutely lovely so I am a very happy girl! She was really helpful and reassuring and I get the impression she will bend over backwards to make our day special ? I also managed to get some more card and finished my evening invites, and I handed them out so feel I'm making progress finally

Ive just arranged my fitting for the 7th september...its all so very real now!

My mum is eagerly making metres upon metre of bunting as we speak too!

As part of my hen weekend we are having a knicker making workshop and my mum is desperate to also make that into bunting to display on the day...im not sure my hens would be too enthusiastic about that

I went and picked my flowers for my bouquets and BM flowers last week, a mixture of roses and gypsophila.

and we booked our honeymoon....New york and Vegas! so excited

Not very fancy or bridal I know but their so comfy and they'll double up as work shoes afterwards, slightly annoyed that I bought them before they went into the sale though!
Can't take them back and re-buy them either as my size is no longer available ... ah well c'est la vie ?
I'll have to take a picture of the other pair and flash later as they've vanished from the website, but their only basic silver ballet pumps ... also very comfy!

My mum also talked me out of doing bathroom baskets after watching me flip out about where to buy the baskets from, what to put in them, what was I going to put them on as there's hardly any counter space etc etc...
As there's a towel rail by the sink in both the ladies & gents, she's bought 4 really nice towels (beige & chocolate for the gents, hot pink & purple for the ladies) and some really nice smelling Carex soap. She then got some Nivea hand cream and 2 bottles of bodyspray for the ladies as a little extra.
It actually works really well, in this case less is more and mum definitely knows best!

Next project is to buy inflatable guitars, am thinking of getting these...

Hey least you’re doing something, remember anything is better than nothing and that’s the best way to think about it. I’ve been stuffing my face recently but that’s because I’m due on and had guests over. This week as long as my back permits it I’ll go out and do some running this week.

So my RSVP date is in 2 weeks time and luckily most of the day people have responded. Although my family from Dubai haven’t done yet so I think I’m going to have to chase them when the deadline comes, mainly because I know half of them are coming and some are not sure but just need to know. I’m going to wait until the deadline and then ask them.

Oh got his suits this weekend. He’s told me I’m not allowed to know anything about it, although I do know it’s a 3 piece suit but that’s it.

OH also finally spray painted the card box. I’ve got to sort it out and put organza on the inside to stop the cards falling through but that’s it mainly done.

I’m going to glue the flowers together to get the circles for around the skulls.

I had a rubbish week last week, our photographer massively let us down so we've had a book a different one which has cost us an extra £115! Then 2 people pulled out of my hen weekend on Monday and another 2 on Tuesday (the balance was due on Friday!) so I wasn't happy I went to a local festival on Saturday though and The Specials headlined (one of my fave bands) so that made me feel better!

And I'm going to order our wedding cake today Just a random question though, I'm ordering it from a shop and I'll need to collect it, when do you think would be best? The day before to be on the safe side?? Thanks

Oh Leigh big hugs!! I’m sorry to hear about your photographer. Strange as it is, you’re not the first I’ve heard in the recent months about being let down by their photographer. Not good at all.

Glad you found someone to cover.

Its also a shame people have pulled out of the hen do. I found the same when it came close to the payment date. I think its just one of those things where people lives get in the way (one of my friends had a baby) and others really want to go but will all the will in the world can’t get the money together. Maybe you can have like an afternoon tea when you’re back with the people who couldn’t go.

Not really sure about the cake, FFIL is making ours and bringing it up the day before the wedding.

Oh dear, what about taking the metal, melting it down and recreating the ring that way? Is that possible? Talking about rings, I need to put mine in for cleaning in a weeks’ time. Then I’m going to not wear it and wear my fake one for the remaining time until we get married so that it’s all sorted and clean. Thinking if I get it done while I’m away on my hen do I can get used to the new one, plus its the only real time until September and I think I’d rather have it cleaned and back with me way before the wedding then worrying if I’ll have it back in time.

Thanks lovely! I’ve got a trapped nerve in my back so sleeping in a dodgy position just caused it to go that way. I had a super hot shower and Ice cream (not that ice cream helps but yknow it’s going to) and this morning its alot better. Its rarely goes anymore but when it does it does. I’m not running this week to rest it. Last week i was on the go so much that i think it will be nice to chill out for a week before the crazy month ahead.

Well I found out how much my original engagement ring cost and quite honestly it wouldn't be worth having it melted down and recreated, he could probably just buy the same one again! Still hoping to find someone who could straighten the band though as that should be cheaper.

Wow, your hen do's sound amazing LMP - lots to look forward too I'm hoping to have a night out nearer the time for people that can't make the weekend in Newcastle, plus a few family friends and work friends. We have a place in Nottm called Bistro Live, not sure if you've head of it? I think there's only 3 in the UK. For about £30 each you get 3 course meal, music quiz, DJ and a band until about 1am. I always have a great time when I go there! And the hen gets a free cocktail

Well hello all!

I have just had my final day of the summer term - yay! I still have my private teaching but still...holidays!!!

In other good news, 100 days today! We have also booked our Eurostar tickets for our honeymoon so another thing ticked off and sorted!

It's great seeing so many hen do's coming up! Mine is at the end of next month but my friend's is on Friday/Saturday - exciting! I've also been thinking about a 2nd hen do for my volleyball friends...in won't be far away though so I best get planning!

I have nearly all my day guest replies now (only 1 to hear from for the whole thing and 2 who have been bumped up) and need 21 evening replies. With an RSVP date of next Wednesday, I hope they all get to me in time or I will be politely getting on at people haha!

LMP - Your invite rsvp are doing really well! Hopefully the rest come back soon. Isn't your deadline soon? We worked out our liist of reserves which I'm going to start messaging as we had a few then us down.

aaaaaaaand the stress finally starts to hit me

been fine and dandy until now, and suddenly it all seems super close but unorganised! (it is organised, its just fine tuning with suppliers that is stressing me out!)

still, hen do next weekend with my 2 sisters will wind me down! we are off to a barn in hexham to relax, hike about hadrians wall and sample the local ales.

I have been AWOL for while. Seems to be like all your wedding planning is coming along nicely. Most of the time! Mine planning was actually stress free until it came to juggling guest numbers. Our venue has bigger rooms to accomodate more guests but the rooms have been booked by other parties and they wont switch with us; even after they were offered £200 incentive!

For us to be able to accommodate all the guests, we will have a kids table in the room next door to main reception room. We have about 14 kids ranging from ages 4 to 12yrs. They will be supervised by events childminders during the meal and speeches. Apart from this, nothing else has been planned in terms of entertaining them. Do you have any ideas?

We have now sent off most of our invites and received the RSVPs, we still need to chase up on a few other RSVPs. Several people from abroad have pulled out as they can't afford it but just as well; both parents on both have since added names to the guest list so it is at break even for now.

DH was meant to have a new platinum ring but we have since had a massive boiler bill at £600. He is going to have his dad's ring resized for him instead. At least some sentimental value there.

I went shopping with mum at Finsbury Park last Saturday and that was a successful trip. We got all her accessories of big hats and fascinators, bags and shoes. She was very pleased, she has got 2 outfits for the day - an East African outfit for the ceremony and formal pictures and another 'normal MOB' outfit for the rest of the day.

We have also booked a videographer! I wasn't keen on having one but my mum really wanted one. We are also going to meet our photographer soon so that we can pick areas of 'must have' photos. He is our bestman's dad so it is all very chilled out. I believe we a pub visit is planned for after!

As for my hen do, one of BM told me months ago that they were planning something but it has been very quiet since. I am not sure if I will have one. If they haven't planned anything, then I will just get a few laides together (BMs, SIL, Her mate, 2 Workmates, Suzan), we shall go to the local pub or to one in the nicer nearby town, drink, laugh and dance and then go home to drink more prosceco and dance to island music till daylight - Hen do. Done.

The other thing that I am concerned about, my dress shop said they would call me when my dress was in to do the first fitting. They said it takes about 20 weeks to make my dress which should have been about beginning of June. I called them towards the end of June and they said they would let me know once it was received. I haven't heard from them since which is a bit of a worry. I assume that they must be very busy since it is peak season or weddings. Even our events organiser at venue was run off her feet the other day when I called her for info. I later found out that she had 3 weddings that week.
