OMG LMP, your photos are adorable!! You look amazing and I love your dress! So strange putting a face to Mr Panda after we have spoken about him for so long! These photos are just so cute and you guys look so cute together. You had nothing to worry about at all!
I mi did the same, I felt engergised after our talk and I went to my parents and picked up my stuff for the name places and started making loads last night. I did have a mini melt down when I was ticking off who I had done and I found my granddads one and got a lite sad. OH had a good point of keeping it and letting him have it after the wedding. I'm currently wearing it at the moment as i put it on and then fell asleep. Might still have it on now!
i only have four left to do which is good but I've ran out of E and A and all the names left have both of these. So just ordered and waiting on them.
Good plan of going with your music. Have what you want and it will make it special when you listen to them again which will be super awesome for you both. What else do you have left to do?
So you know how it pours when it starts well today I woke up with an ear infection! So much pain. Doctors visit is needed, currently on painkillers at the moment!
Thanks for all the nice comments about my photos, I feel much happier with them now ?
Lui - Thank you lovely, my mum actually bought my dress it's not something I would've chosen myself but I really like it. I know what you mean about it being strange putting a face to the name after so long, no doubt I'll say the same thing when I see your wedding pics ? Not sure that we look cute together, he towers over me!!
Ooh go Lui making your places a day earlier, only 4 left to make is really good going ? Nothing wrong with wearing your grandads one, I think that's rather sweet. Would definitely give it to him after the wedding ? I'm sending my grandad and step-grandma their place cards with one of the candle holders (part of a centrepiece) and some cake, I know they'll appreciate it.
Well I have to finalise the playlist and add it to my iPod, so that's tonight's job. I also have to check how many fairy lights and LED tea lights I have and order more if necessary so will do that tonight as well. Tomorrow is finishing off favour boxes and arranging all my wedding stuff at my parents into some form of organised chaos!
BIG massive hugs, ear infections are the worst! Hopefully the doctor will give you some antibiotics to help you get over it. Try and rest xxx
Yknow i didn’t even notice that he towered over you, but
then i looked at the top photo and saw him perching (is that the right word maybe) and now can see
that he is, I thought he was a little bit taller but as you were leaning that
made you a little shorter than you normally would be. Hahah always missing the
small things!
Your mum has some good taste in dresses, maybe she can take
me shopping sometime!?
UWhy thank you *bows*. I do believe some credit is down to
you and your prep talk with me! ???
Thanks lovely! ?Glad i’m not the only one doing that. Aww your
grandparents are going to love their stuff and of course the cake added in will
be a bonus! Its like they were there then which is nice!
Ah nice nice! Im not sure what I’m going to do tonight. I
think i may bottle bag up the thank you drinks I have brought and write out
some thank you cards....maybe yours hehehe. I need to start moving things from
mine to my parents, like the girls presents the thank you drinks ect. Maybe
this way I will find my cards lol! Everything ready slowly for the day in their
spare room. They are going to love me hahaha!
That has reminded me I need to check my lights and also buy
some batteries, I know what im doing on pay day hahaha! ?
Thanks lovely! Its a tad painful and im deaf in one ear
hahah! But Im going on painkillers at the moment as i cant get into my drs but
worse case I’ll pop to the walk in centre quite late and just go that way to
get my ear looked at. Hopefully it goes before I can get an appointment! Who
knows! I’m taking it official , I am broken hahahaha! ?
ps 5 weeks exactly for yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou
I know I'm going Sheffield and I know where I'm staying... but that's it.... I thought we were just hanging out in the day in the city, few drinks and some food, but I have a feeling something is being plotted in for during the day!
Have no idea for the evening over and above the usual going round the bars...
Think i might be decorated in something pink and fluffy....!
It feels like it has been ages since I was last on here! A lot has happened too (it took me over an hour to catch up but I think I'm there now) ....a house being sold and another being bought, a few hen dos, dress fittings, engagement shoots (very pretty btw) lots of crafty work going on too plus I've had my friend's wedding and my sister's wedding reception (she got married in Vegas a little whiel back) - you all be busy ladies!!! Wow!
I know some asked how my hen do was - it was a rather boozy one - all the girls made a different cocktail for each round at home, there was a great sexy dance (not a stripper but a friend dancing with a mask on and those old poppers trousers lol), then some silly games and out for drinks, a meal and more games, all in a leather cat suit!
Scary now saying that my full hen do is this weekend coming! I've also got my place name cards sorted and my favours are all put together. We also bought our guestbook and the final gifts and I'm getting my dad to make personalised T-shirts and robes too (my friend was saying that she had to take off her top almost straight away as she had to get her hair done and I wanted something to wear a little longer when getting ready!).
Wedding things will take a little bit of a back seat for a week or two now as I have the new school term starting, with lots of new classes and an entirely new syllabus to teach!
Having a look at what I have left, it kinda looks like this: - Get a ring holder - Design the seating plan - I have one done on Hitched and my OH wants it to look similar but I don't know how to do that and make it classy. It's 7 circular tables slightly staggered but 4 on one side, 3 on the other. - Confirm everything with the registrar (eek - next week!) Get OH gift (now decided on it at least) - Make chalk boards - Make final design of table decs and card table - Make unique things for wedding (not quite sure what these will be yet) - Finalise timeline for suppliers and myself as well as a photo list - Final payments for TOG, caterers, hair and make up and registrar - Make order of ceremony board (not sure what to do as it is a civil ceremony) - Get my ring dipped - Get wedding bubbles and sparklers
Ok it's official, the freak outs have begun. I read Lui's comment that I had 5 weeks to go and BOOM the world's ending! Someone calm me down please before I spontaneously combust...
AnnaMolly - Aw thank you, the more I look at them the less I hate them ? Good luck for your dress fitting today, are you excited? Ooh yay another Bake Off fan!
BridgetJonesNoLonger - Hi and welcome ? How are your plans coming along?
Cat D - Things certainly move fast on this thread, we're definitely the most chatty bunch! How was your friends wedding and your sisters wedding reception? Hope you all had a lovely time ? Your hen do sounds fab, glad you had a good time. When's your hen weekend ... are you excited? Your reasoning for getting personalised robes is the same as mine, I bought my mum MOH & BM funky pj's to wear but I know they'll have to take the tops off when they have their hair done so I figured a nice fluffy robe would work. How are you getting on with your to-do list? I bought some really nice wedding bubbles on Amazon, I can post the link if you like ?
Lui - How's your ear today? Hope your feeling better. In the top photo he was copying poses from America's Next Top Model ? But yeah I'm 5 foot 6 and he's 6 foot 4 so there's a bit of a difference! I'm sure Mummy Panda would love to take you shopping, she's bought me quite a few nice bits lately. Ah well you know me always here with a pep talk when needed ? That's what my mum said, I'm hoping that I'll be able to go up to Nottingham to see them the week after the wedding. I can give them their cake, favours and other bits in person then (I know it sounds odd to give them a one of the candle holders from the centrepieces but I know it'll look so nice in their living room). How'd you get on with things last night? Make any progress? All parents know that spare rooms become wedding rooms when their little un's get married, it's an unofficial law! I'm moving the last of my wedding stuff over to my folks tonight ready for fairy light and candle counting. My life is so exciting ?
Rebeccafcr - Ooh hope you have a fabulous hen do, sounds exciting!
I'm looking forward to it but just want it to be over. Me and OH both hate being centre of attention and it's filling me with dread standing up in front of my family.
The hotel where we are having the ceremony are peeing me off too. I can't remember if I mentioned but we had booked a room to stay over but they said we couldn't check in until 12pm - no good to me as MUA wanted to come at 9am and we get married at 2pm. They wouldn't budge so we cancelled it and are just getting a taxi home instead (classy lol)
I then went in yesterday to pay the final balance and they'd lost over £300 in payments I've made. The girl was very blaise about it - I assume as we're only having a meal there so they're not going to making loads off us compared to if we had it over the weekend - but I was fuming. She said she's get the C&B manager to call me on Sunday. Ive rang the ban to confirm the payments I've made and also got all my receipts to prove what I've paid. I've worked so bloody hard doing two the last few months to pay it off and they're so non-committal about it.
Ooh 55 days, that's going so quick! I know what you mean about not liking being the centre of attention, I'm hoping that as it's just family and really close friends I won't be nervous. Are you having a lot of people at your ceremony?
Sorry to hear your having trouble with the hotel, I think that's very mean of them to say you can't check in until 12pm. As it's for a special occasion you'd think they'd make an exception. That's absolutely awful about your payments, they'd best get that sorted swiftly as that's no way to be running a company!
LMP – hahaha I’m so impressed that he was doing an ANTM
pose! Hahaha amazing! ?
I need a whole wardrobe vamp so maybe she can help me with
that! I never seem to have a good eye I think.
I didn’t make any progress last night as I had an
appointment and by the time i got home it was too late. Plus my letters are not
there, however today i made OH email the venue to have a celebrant meeting and
now we have what I think i our last venue meeting too, so thats something. ?
Hahaha its true, their spare room and my old room is full of
wedding stuff, I imagine like me they can’t wait until its empty.
I went to the DR about my ear, he doesn’t think its
infected, he thinks its wax thats built up and is annoying my ear. He’s given
my some drops but I still think its infected as when he put the ear checker in
it really hurt right at the start of the ear, but i will do what he says and
then I’m going to the nurse next week so i imagine if its infected she may see
it which is something. Painkillers are helping though and OH said he will put
the drops in tonight for me. ?
Isnt it your camping this weekend? ?
Cat D – We are a chatty lot, hahaha just can’t stop talking.
I agree with LMP i hope you had a lovely time at your friend’s and sisters
wedding reception ect. Do you have much left to do?
Good to be part of the group! I wish I had spent more time on this site in the earlier stages of planning.
The forums are very reassuring and you realise that everyone is in the same boat.
All good here and very excited as we are just over 8 weeks away now! Whooppppee!!!
I'm going to a colleague's wedding tomorrow. I love a good wedding but am even more into as our wedding is so close now. It's good to get tips/hints and see how someone else approached their wedding.

Good afternoon my lovelies ? I'm being really lazy here by not responding to everyone (made the mistake of being away for a few days!) I just wanted to share that I'm stupidly excited for hen party number one tomorrow!! ?
I don't know anything about the plans, except that a few of us are going for tapas at 5.30 and the thing is officially starting at 7.30 (so early, only usually head out into town after 10 pm, I'm gona be hammered!)
So hope you all have lovely weekends! I hope I do ❤️ ?
Hi all - after a bit of a sabbatical from this page (more due to me and my stress levels!) thought I'd come on, see how you are all doing and give you an update - after all, not long any more is it?! ?
43 days for me - that is just 6 weeks from tomorrow.... ?
LMP - Your photos are lovely :-) I especially like the one with you sitting on your OH's knee - your hair has picked up the light really nicely and you both look happy and relaxed.
Lui - Ear infections aren't nice at all! Hope it clears up soon and the doctor is right in his diagnosis.
Rebeccafcr - Hope your hen around Sheffield goes well and that you don't bump into the Full Monty while there! I'll look out for you as I think we are going to the FIL's this weekend who are up that way
Firsttimebride83 - your hotel doesn't sound the most helpful - usually you can do an early check in even if it costs extra... might actually be nice to be home on your first night as husband and wife though
CatD - You aren't the only one - I am a semi-lurker as I feel I can't keep up! Lol!
Hope your dress fitting goes well MrsFRtobe. A friend of mine is a Forbes-Ritte. I am subconsciously thinking you might be marrying into his family! hahaha! Weird how the mind works!
Updates from me - loads! Lol!
Shoegate!
Had a major issue with the bridesmaid. She had agreed to buy her shoes, but she is self employed and earns very little so she purchased from china via ebay (no issue there) but they never arrived and she got a refund.
She then purchased a second pair off ebay - they were too big
She then purchased a third paid off ebay - they were too small
She thought Ivory might work instead of Navy Blue (colours are navy/ivory) so she borrowed some off a friend. At this point she showed me and I didn't like them and found out she had 3 pairs of not right shoes!
So I point her to BHS and finally she admits cost is an issue. So I buy the blooming things!
They arrive.... pair 5 is too big..... Shoegate continues on....
Ironically, the day before our make up trial (when we were also going to go and sort shoes once and for all) she received a parcel.
It is the chinese shoes that got lost 2 months on!
They are perfect. The nicest of the lot and the best fit and technically, they have been free.
Apart from that my second hair/make up trial went great. The trial trial I had taught me a lot - I think I want to try different but I don't, and I need to explain what I want accentuated/hidden rather than dictating a style. The make up is completely different and I love it. The hair is fab too (but a bit short still at the back to get up properly!) There was no products used - she just saw how it would sit naturally for the trial.
I don't 'do' DIY but have my favours, my love hearts, my favours bags, confetti (I Purchased!), our Order of service covers (need to do the insides), chosen the church music and readings, have table confetti and bubbles - all the little things are now coming in.
Our personalised wedding topper is in production too! Saw drafts of the faces and got very excited!
Rings are in for altering, dress is being altered, waistcoat is being adjusted, car is ok, tog is setting up final meeting before wedding to scope venue out - it all seems never ending!
We need to sort out music, our brass quintet programme, touch base with the florist and the cake maker (the latter is where I worry most - she hasn't really been in touch since April so I have sent a note off to her.....)
Hope everyone else is having an enjoyable but busy time too!
I hope you enjoy your hen Stephied, have a lovely time!
Misslynx your hair and make up look fab! Very pretty.
I had my dress fitting yesterday. Not much to be done really. Needs bra cups put in and pulled in round the waist but otherwise fine. And it's the right length with my shoes, phew! I was really starting to panic a bit. Otherwise though I just feel a bit meh about it. It's a gorgeous dress but I don't think I'm in love unfortunately. Got to suck it up and get on with it now though. Too late for change. ?

Misslynx your hair and make up are fabulous! ❤️ we're date twins as well so I'm in the panic zone now too!
Aw thank you AnnaMolly! I'm sorry to hear you feel that way about your dress, I'm sure you'll change your mind on the day you know, you picked it for a reason....?
Hi everyone ? So once again it's a lovely sunny Saturday and I'm stuck at work. Boo. Still it gives me time to catch up with everything I missed yesterday!
I have "Hen Do Part 1" to look forward to later today as I'm going for afternoon tea at The Hilton with my mum, sister, MOH, BM, my auntie who's not an auntie, one of my closest friends and my mum's friend who's helped make pretty much all our decorations (I'm paying for her as a thank you). Am ridiculously excited, I know it's not much but I've never had afternoon tea before ... and we get sparkly wine ?? As you may or may not have figured out I love a good drink ?
Then next Saturday my mum and sister have arranged "Hen Do Part 2" which has been titled 'A Civilised Hen Do Garden Party'. It's going to be at my mum's house and I have no idea who's going or what has been planned!
The Saturday after that is "Hen Do - Final Part", when I go camping with my MOH BM and best man ? Busy busy!
Sent my engagement ring and charm bracelet off last weekend to have them both cleaned and polished, feel very odd with them. But I am finding things in my jewellery box that I had forgotten all about so every cloud and all that!
AnnaMolly - Sorry to hear your not totally in love with your dress ☹️ Do you think that maybe you've spent so long worrying about it (don't we all!) that some of the magic has vanished a bit? I know some of the other ladies on the forum have had massive dress wobbles (myself included), but it always works out. Am sure you'll remember why you loved it originally, and I bet your OH will love it too. It may be different when you see it on your special day...you'll have your hair and make-up all done, and you'll getting ready to marry your OH ?
BJNL - Ooh only 8 weeks to go, that'll absolutely fly by! How are you getting on with your plans ?
misslynx - Hello again ? Ooh 6 weeks for you, it's going so quick isn't it?? Aw thank you for your lovely comments, I really like that particular photo as well. Our lovely TOG has offered to have 1 photo put onto a canvas for us, free of charge, and I think we're going to pick that one. Shoegate indeed! What a bloomin nightmare for you, something you could've done without I'm sure! Thank goodness it's all sorted now, even better that the shoes she's got now are technically free. Make sure she puts them somewhere safe and doesn't lose them ? Your hair and make-up pictures look gorgeous, it really suits you ? Sounds like your checking loads of things off your list, it really does seem never ending doesn't it? I swear I tick one thing off and two more take it's place!
MrsFRtobe - Good luck for your dress fitting today, hope it all goes ok ?
Lui - I'm exactly the same when it comes to buying clothes, I look at things and think "Nah that's so not me". But then Mummy Panda buys me things so I have to try it on and I love it! She's nabbed some great bargains in Peacocks and Asda recently (as you probably guessed, I don't do 'fashion') so might be worth having a look to see if you can find anything there. Asda have some great guys band t-shirts, I've bought a load for Mr Panda and then some for me too ?
That's good that you've got your celebrant meeting and last venue meeting booked, that's reminded me that I need to book in to speak to the registry office. OH and I have picked a reading for my BM but we're not sure it'll be allowed, plus we need to ask whether my BIL can be our VOG. Probably should have asked these questions ages ago but they've only just popped into my head!
Hope your ear is feeling better today, fingers crossed it isn't infected so it'll get better quickly. Are you up to much this weekend ?
Stephied - Happy Hen Do Weekend! Hope you have a fab time ?
Your wedding is the same day as mine! Hooowww exciting! I am so excited, I could burst!
I hope your dress fitting goes well. I had one in December and the fit was snugger than I would've liked. This certainly focussed the mind and subsequent fittings have been much more successful. I have my next fitting sometime this month.
Our seating plan was very easy to organise. Everyone says what a nightmare it is but I'm pleased to say it was quite painless.
Ohhh nooo! I was just writing a post and lost it all with a click of a button. I'll try again ...
I hope you are all having a lovely day. The bank holiday has made sure that the weather is grey and sad but that's the norm really on bank holiday weekends. A colleague's daughter is getting married tomorrow and the forecast is pretty iffy down this way. Ahh well you can't guarantee the weather and at least the torrential rain has stopped. We have wedding umbrella just in case for our day and the venue lends itself to bad weather (the same venue as my colleague's daughter) so we'll have to just hope and go with it.
This weeks' wedding projects have been finding a videographer and attending a friend's wedding in Wiltshire (your neck of the woods Little Miss Panda).
After convincing my OH that videoing the ceremony is a good idea we decided to go with Union Videos who are advertised on this site. There is a special offer too if you book before the end of September. I love their trailers and the video will make a great momento. We are only doing the first part of the day and then having a photographer for the duration of the day.
The wedding was wonderful, a very elegant affair but I expected nothing less from my friend. The weather was fabulous and there was a lovely atmosphere. The venues were perfect and I am so happy for the happy couple. It was also a great chance for me to look at their approach to a wedding and think about it in relation to our plans.
The dreaded stag is next weekend and they are off to Amsterdam. I going to need all your moral support because I'll be driving myself mad worrying that he has alcohol poisoning or some stripper is doing her best work right before his eyes I am busy Saturday but I'll have to plan something on Sunday to preserve my sanity... Any tips guys?
Also how do I do a ticker/countdown? Can anyone help? I'm rubbish with computers ...
AnnaMolly I'm sorry to hear that you are unsure about your dress. Hopefully your feelings will change as time passes. My friend's dress was amazing! It is an Oscar de la Renta, haute couture gown. It was very dramatic with a train and a veil that went on and on (in a classy way). She looked stunning and it really was an unforgettable gown. I started thinking about my dress (a few guests there are coming to my wedding) and wondering how they would compare. Then I thought her dress was to her tastes, her style and summed her up and so is mine. Mine isn't as dramatic, expensive or designed by Oscar de la Renta but it's right for me, it fits me perfectly and I know it's the one. I hope you get that feeling back too.
MissLynx you're hair and make up are beautiful. I love the fact that the make up is so subtle, for me that's very bridal.
LittleMissPanda I hope your hens are all as fabulous as one another. I have a two part hen which may turn into three. It's great to celebrate things over and over again. We must enjoy our time as brides as everyone says how fast the day goes and that you can feel a little flat afterwards when no more wedding plans are needed. I'm getting my ring cleaned next month and as you say, it will be strange without it. You're big day is fast approaching, you must be so excited!
Hope everyone had a great hen do and is recovering well! Let us know about it when your back in the land of the living haha.
LMP - my ears a lot better thank you. Just having a check up on Thursday in case I need to flushing out. I hope not but they know best.
BJNL - hi lovely, everything sounds great and that you got an awesome deal with your videographer! Don't worry about your OH in Amsterdam! He will have a great time but won't do anything silly. hes just going for a good send off and to be honest there's a lot more fun things to do in Amsterdam then the strip clubs and what not! My OH is there on his stag at the end of the month too. You'll be fine and hell have an awesome time and and tell you all about it!
Annamolly - I'm sorry to hear about you not loving your dress. Your dress is beautiful and no doubt you will look stunning in it! I bet once you have it on with everything and it's done you'll love it again.
So I had my fitting in Saturday, not much needs doing which is good. Thought it would need to be take in a lot but they told me if it was taken in I wouldn't be able to sit down, which I never actually thought of. I'm now trying to break in my shoes by wearing them around the house with socks on. Not sure how long to do this for! Plus with my batman pj bottoms I look so sexy. Hah.
Hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday!
Im scared and a little bit excited to say from tomorrow that we are getting married next month! Aghh!
Finally, ladies I need a little help on two things, my something borrowed is my veil it's super creased, any idea out to get the creases our? Secondly I have my final meeting with the venue, I've got a list of questions but just wonder what you guys think I should ask!? I can put my questions up tomorrow but just want to see what you guys come up with before I put them up! Thanks lovely ladies.
Hope you all have a great day on the day we can start to say 'I'm getting married next month' it's getting closer
Can anyone help me set up a 'ticker'? I went on the link at the bottom of this page but it got stuck at 'choosing a background'.
Lui
I'm glad your fitting went well and your ear it on the mend. My dress has a corset back and I have to admit bending over is a strange feeling. They said it will mould to my body as the day goes on, probably about the time it's time for me to take it off, forever
Your venue should be able to guide you in term of questions and what they need to know. It would be good to see your list
Hi BJNL! date twin not long to go, hope your all prepared!
We had a huge sort out and ordering session yest afternoon for candles and twinkly things..oh and glow sticks for the evening for a little entertainment!
We can all say that we are getting married NEXT MONTH now!!!! majorly excited!

Hello lovelies! Did we all have a productive weekend?
BJNL - I really wouldn't worry about the stag do my love, these things are always much tamer than they seem! I'm going for the "ignorance is bliss" approach - don't tell me anything ha ha!
Lui - the image of you in Batman PJs and wedding shoes made me smile! I've tried mine on a few times but really must start wearing them in soon (the shoes, not Batman pjs!). And re your veil, mine has some care instructions and it says you can iron it with a towel over the top on a very light setting, or, hang it in a bathroom after a shower/bath. I don't think I'm brave enough to try the iron on mine! But I am going to try leaving it in a steamy bathroom.
Ah girls, I had hen party number 1 on Saturday, still recovering now ha ha! Too old for these shenanigans! Can't believe I;ve got number 2 on Friday as well! I don't usually drink so it really takes it out of me when I have a blow out! Hopefully I'll get my excitement back by Friday, number 2 is a full weekend in Magaluf - god help me!
Did everyone else have fun on their hens? I wasn't going to post any pics of myself on here til after the wedding but I'm not really bothered any more, pretty sure there's noone on here that I know! I was a little unsure about the lady who did my hair and make up, I think she did my make up far too heavy, but everyone else said it looked nice. We went for tapas first, then we went to a fancy bar where my little worker hens had hired a VIP booth and decked it out with all hen party paraphernalia! Then we went into an ice bar! Then just more drinks and dancing - was a really good laugh I'll put pics up next...
