ok, so, morning after the night before!

I had the best hen do. I was surprised with a Mr and Mrs game. They'd asked my OH lots of questions and he'd answered them all! And I had no idea!

Then we got ready and I was taken to bingo! It was fun and they made a fuss at the bingo which was nice.

then into town where we had a drink at Yates then went into Popworld where we had a VIP booth for the night. Danced my ass off all night. Was the last one standing and we got in at 3am!

It was all so much fun!x

Hi all,

Been busy the past 10 days what with the start of the new term and getting things sorted. I also have my OHs birthday on Tuesday and we are getting ready to move in about 4 weeks - eek!

We have made lots of payments lately and have sorted the registrar and all the details with that, going to write out the final details for the TOG soon, sorted things with the caterer and hoping to get final payments to them shortly. Now just trying to sort the 'personal touches' and things like the seating plan etc.

SaraPoppy I'm really sorry to hear about the wedding plans but the relationship is more important right now - good luck with everything!

BJNL - lovely ticker - I still need to get one! It sounds like you have been uber busy!

Everyone with hen dos - wow! They sound epic!

As for my hen do (it feels like a while ago now despite only being a week ago!), here is how it went:
I had a couple of my friends stay over on the Friday night so it was a girly night in - we got an Indian takeaway and watched a movie. The Saturday was a fairly early start but great...we all jumped on the train to London and met friends in Green Park. Once we had all got lunch we had a picnic and I found out I was going to see WICKED! As a Music teacher and someone who originally wanted to be a pit musician (as well as having wanted to see this musical for years) I was ecstatic! The performance was amazing and everyone had loads of fun.

Next up was gathering some drinks etc before going to the apartment my sister had booked. The apartment was great! We could see out over London and had a view of the Eye and the Thames. Sadly, the drinks we got from M&S had to be the pre-mixed ones and they tasted horrid. However, we did have Bucks Fizz and other things too so we were OK. Then it was time for the outfits - I'd been told we were having an American themed night in honour of my time I spent living in San Francisco and this is the result...

We went for dinner in an American restaurant in Covent Garden. There was sooo much food!!! It was great and was followed by games and DJ sets and a band so we partied and danced til 2am. You'd think that with my sash on, people would realise that it was a hen party but I got wished a 'happy birthday' three times and asked if I was having a gay wedding lol.

The next day was much more chilled. We went to the Southbank for brekkie and to visit the Festival of Love. We went in the Appearing Rooms and had lots of drinks in the London Wonderground. Mr and Mrs game was played and the questions were random and sometimes my OH lied in order for me to get more drunk. All in all, a great day!

Anywho, it seems scary to say it's less than 8 weeks to go (and for some less than 5!)...it's going very quickly now!

Your hen do sounds awesome! I love that you had a theme to follow! :-)

I've been trying to get through to the registry office ALL DAY!! They left me a message saying we can go in and talk things through with the registrar so we know what to expect, except no-one will answer the phone to let me book an appointment ?

Tbh I don't mind a bit of fruit cake but I'm a fussy one and I much prefer my mum's home made one to a shop one! Where are you getting your extra bars from? I'm leaning towards M&S at the moment.

We played several games, and one of those was to make a toilet paper wedding dress



Another game was to draw the wedding related item I'd named (flowers) on a paper plate, which we had to put on our heads. Needless to say mine looked an elephant had sat on it!!



We also played "Who's mug is this?", "How well does the bride know the groom" and "A-Z of weddings".
My mum had also put together a table full of wedding objects, which got covered during the afternoon and we all had to try and remember what was there. Naturally I sucked at that!
My sister had also managed to get baby photos of all the guests and we had to guess who was who which was great fun ?

And most important flash of all ... the food!!

LMP – looks like such an awesome day and your niece is such a cutie! She is going to look downright adorable in her princess dress! Also if thats a buffet at your parties, I wanna come to the next one hehe!

How are you feeling lovely? Have you had your tests? Did you manage to get through to the registry office in the end?

I’m glad you managed to work Netflix, i on the other hand, managed to fast forward half a film last night, just by jamming my hand on the controller to pick it up! My skills are endless! Ha!

My weekend was good. OH went to play American football so i was up and about by 8.30. Went to do some shopping, got the best unicorn bedding haha! Then i cleaned the apartment from top to bottom, scrubbed, hovered, polished, you name it. It was so gleamy and clean! I finished at like 4.30 and just watched films from that point.

We also went to see straight outta Compton on Sunday, really good film. I didn’t think I would like it but really loved it!! Also prebooked James Bond tickets for the opening day which is the Monday before the wedding. Thinking that we will need a distraction haha!

The meet well last night, loads of things finalised and just getting the last costing so we can pay as soon as we move the money into one account. Also the celebrant was lovely! So happy with that! Now to just do the last little things.

Pick up the finished centre pieces on Thursday so i’m super excited about that!!

I'm not feeling too bad, the painkillers are doing their stuff at the moment. My mum's booked me in to have a massage and a facial tomorrow as she's convinced it's stress/tension.
I had the blood tests yesterday and passed out as per usual ☹️
Still haven't managed to get through to the registry office I'm still trying as we speak (well type!)

I've skipped parts of films by dropping the controller before, I don't think we're safe to be left with technology ?

Wow sounds like you deserved to sit down and watch films after doing all that cleaning on Saturday. Isn't it a lush feeling when it's done though?

Oh no, hope someone caught you/ gave you biscuits! Are you a fainter when it comes to things like that?

GRRRRR to the office, it may be worth going down! How can they not answer?! Thats crazy!

Oh I was so happy when the cleaning was finished; i mean it still looks super clean now. Plus least i know how long I’m going to have to spend on it on the Thursday before the wedding as we have some guys staying there the night of the wedding so want to make sure it’s super clean.

Hahah oh god we are not allowed technology! I did the great thing last night of dropping my phone on my face. I swear me and technology should not mix at all, its just harmful to me! Haha!

Ohhhh if you have an odeon, and go on the opening night, they are all putting something a little bit special on. It is a little more expensive as its a premium film (inside knowledge as lots of my friends work in our one) but it’ll be worth it i reckon. I’m so excited as part of it takes place in mexico on the day of the dead! AHH!

I will flash the guys when I have them, I have three coming home with me tonight and i’m dropping another one off and the other ones are coming home with me next week now as my friend isn’t happy with them. It does give me now some time to find some flowers as I have a card, a bottle and just want some flowers too as a thank you for doing them for me.

I dont think so, I have to start putting the centre pieces together (may have to buy a glue gun – danger! Ha!) I also have to write the seating plan and then just little bits still. Going to start making my favours box and look for a card sign today just so we can tie it around the box. Also batteries for the lights hahaha! I’m sure I will think of more! Haha!

Well ladies, I had my 1st dress fitting yesterday and i went really well, just a little tuck here and there but fallen in love with my dress all over again..roll on the 8th october for the final fitting

They made me lie down before they even started as I have a record of being a fainter! The nurse did get me a biscuit and I had a cup of tea when I got to work.

I have finally got through to them, instead of making an appointment the registrar has offered to call me when I'm on lunch today to run through my questions.

It's always nice when everything gets done, and it's good to have an idea of how long it'll take as well.
I'm cheating and have asked my mum's friend who does cleaning if she'll give me a hand ?

im like you with needles. Nightmare. I had to have chemo last year, can you imagine! Two rounds of hypnotherapy helped no end so if you need more blood tests it's worth giving it a try. X

Hello all!! I'm bouncing around like a child hyped up on sugar because I've actually done loads of WEDDING THINGS! Yay!

I had my hair trial on Saturday and he actually managed to do exactly what I wanted so I was well chuffed. Today was my make up trial and I am also really happy with how that went. Starting to see it all coming together is quite satisfying.

I've also ordered loads of bit and bobs for my kids activity packs. So another thing to check off the list.

My OH has also FINALLY sorted out his suit, HURRAH. So all in all I'm doing a happy dance

Oh but then I remember there's just over 7 weeks to go and we're probably moving 2 weeks before the wedding - PANIC MODE ACTIVATED!!

I can't believe some of you will be OMs this time next month!! This has come round so quick.

Hi all,

Apologies for absence - have had a few stresses to sort lately but all good now. I'll give an update in this message and will then read through what I've missed and respond to that in my next message.

Firstly, good news - following my colposcopy I got my results this week - they removed all the abnormal tissue and I've been discharged from the clinic. I have to go for a smear in 6 months but it's good news :-)

We've had a stressful few weeks as the OH realised that his work in Lincolnshire was making him feel depressed. He's been driving up there for shifts (4hrs each way). Anyway, he has managed to get a job locally which he starts next month. He's already feeling more cheerful as if a weight has been lifted. It also means that we no longer need to move, so I have taken the house off the market which is great as trying to keep it to showhouse cleanliness with 3 cats and an 8 year old son was hard work lol.

We've also got future step-son's passing out parade from Phase 1 Navy training in a couple of weeks :-)

Anyway... wedding updates.

Had my first dress fitting last week - looking good. Final fitting and collection is on 23rd September :-)

Have finished paying the venue and have given them the final numbers.

Have chosen music and readings and the registrar has approved them.

Have finished putting together the children's favours.

Halfway through sorting the main favours.

The jeweller has phoned to say our rings have arrived so we will go and collect those next week when OH is home from this block of shifts

Bridesmaid dresses are in the process of being adjusted

Hope the blood tests help find a solution. We are planning on getting some sponge cake cutting bars from M&S to go alongside our main cake which is fruit. Also, glad to see I'm not the only one with Care Bear and Aristocat PJs lol.

The lady from the Registry Office was lovely yesterday, she answered all my questions and pointed out a few things that I needed to be aware of as well.
So as a result we have chosen our reading, and 2 out of 3 songs we need for when we're signing the register. Just need to pick the last one tonight and make a CD so OH can drop it into them.

I'd be seriously lost without my mum's friend, she's fantastic. I struggle with some cleaning due to my dodgy back so having her help is great ?
