I'm so excited to say that I'm getting married this year. Although, I only got engaged at the beginning of November, so I didn't exactly have to wait long.

I'm getting married on 18th October (no date twin for me, yet) in Sedgebrook Hall, Northampton. I feel like I've done so much in the 6 weeks I've been planning that I'll have nothing to do for the next few months (although perhaps this is a good thing, as I have a job and university studies too, haha).

    So far, I have:

    • Ordered bridesmaid dresses and all their accessories (other than shoes)
    • Booked venue
    • Booked registrar (12.30, eek!)
    • Sorted my hairdresser (my beautiful sister and MOH)
    • Booked cake
    • Booked photographers
    • Booked DJ
    • Booked florist
    • Sent out our invitations
    • Booked our décor company
    • Started buying all the little titbits
    • And, what wedding is without its family politics! Smiley laugh

I feel like there soon won't be anything left! But I bet it will come around so quickly Smiley smile

It's nice that this forum is here. People get so bugged about how excited I am constantly. It's so nice that there are other people just as excited Smiley smile

So ladies we are out of the 10 month mark (all 9 months and x weeks) hows everyones planning?

Had a little wonble the other day that I wouldnt be able to save enough and still havent got an actual time we get married yet! The money situation was sorted by checking one of my many spreadsheets, however still not sure about if I should have a time yet?

Aside from that h2b ordered his wedding ring and sorting out some wedding gifts for my bridesmaids!

I dont know if anyones asked but whats everyone doing for their hen night?

I'm always having money wobbles, usually in the middle of the night and I can't sleep I think about the thousands of pounds I need to save! It's actually not so bad when we break it down but still, scares me!

More excitingly I bought my dress this weekend!!! So excited, it was just what I was looking for. This is it:

Clearly not me in it Smiley winking

That dress is beauitful! I love it!! The detail on the back is stunning.

Thatd exactly how I am at times, i then think where can i cut down to save but seriously have no where to do it. I havent even treated myself to any new clothes since we put the deposit on the venue. Sad I know!

How exciting was it finding the dress? X

It was really unexpected! I had gone to see the new maggie sottero 2015 dresses but also booked another appointment at another shop. Saw all the new maggie dresses and they were stunning!

i knew I had found the one when I compared all others to this one and wanted to put it on again. I'm really relieved as I didn't think my dream dress actually existed! Ordered but doesn't come in until June now. Feels like ages!

I'm just into the 8 months 4 week mark! It's so exciting!

I don't think anyone has mentioned about hen do's! I'm having two; one for mums, aunties, moh and bm's, we are going to an open air theatre and are having afternoon tea, then the other one is with my friends and moh and bm's and we are going to Champneys as they do a girls night in Hen package and it's amazing and just what I'm after!

http://www.champneys.com/spa-resorts/spa-resort-breaks/special-occasions/hen-packages/1-night-girls-night-in/ (Not sure how to insert a hyper link!)

How about you?! Have you decided or booked anything yet?! xxx

    Ohhhh that all sounds lovely!!

Pamper days are always good fun!

I'm not someone who enjoys everything the standard hen night has and I don't really drink a lot any more. So I decided to mix it up and me and my ladies are heading to Newquay for the board masters festival (http://www.boardmasters.co.uk) so we get beach, music, festival, surfing all in one! It's cheaper then trying to find accommodation down there as it's expensive and all the girls are excited as many haven't been to a festival at all, plus if I don't want to drink I don't have to as it's not like I'm in a night club and will feel like I have to

When I'm home and probably in September I'll go for a meal with my mum and aunts and some of the girls who couldn't make it to the main hen night!!

Lui - I know what you mean about not drinking. We dont really drink very much anymore. I havent been to a nightclub in years! I wanted something lowkey for my hen, hense we ended up at a spa - I was invited to a hendo last year, unfortuantley I wasn't able to go, but it was just two full days of drinking and pub crawls. For someone I know it is totally for them, but I think I am becoming a hermit in my old age (Im only 28) I much prefer either staying in or going for dinner and drinks and then going home!

Your hen do sounds awesome! I havent been to a festival before - how long will you be there for?

The meal in September sounds like a lovely idea - have you had any throughts on where you might go?

I'm at work today, and I really can't focus or get motivated! All I can think about its the wedding and the honeymoon! It doesnt help that in exactly 9 months I will be on my wat Gatwick airport for the Honeymoon!

I think I'm also feeling a little meh becuase of the the saving we still have to do! I'm looking forward to being married and not being soooooo money conscious! Also I'm look out the window and its pouring with rain!

I know exactly how you feel today; I have no motivation either and keep popping along away from my work to websites to have a nosey about wedding things. I had a flap about the money I needed to save the other day too and was panicking with how much more I have to save and if it’s even possible to while paying my bills and trying to have some form of social life and not just sitting at home all day every day driving myself insane.

The rain doesn’t help either, crap weather isn’t the best! Also I have the fact that me and h2b are taking a whole month off after our wedding to travel that I don’t have any holiday until my Birthday in April and then my hen due in August.

This has turned into a bit of a rant which I didn’t mean to hehe! It’s nice to vent sometimes away from everyone who’s dealing with me.

I couldn’t do a pub crawl, and I am only 27 myself, nightclubs do start to annoy me because of idiots you can find in them (i know you can get them anywhere). I prefer to sit in a quiet pub having a few drinks or round a friend’s house. I felt the same way when I went to a hen do in 2013 for a friend. I did have fun but I just felt out of place and awkward at the night club.

Many of my friends haven’t been to a festival either so I thought it would be nice, plus it’s not as hectic as the other ones you can go to, it’s very family orientated with the bands and DJ’s thrown in. Our ticket allows us entry from Wednesday to Monday but due to it starting on Friday and time off I can get we are going either Thursday night or early Friday morning. Being from the midlands the drive is going to kill us off so we will decide nearer the time when we fancy going. We’ve also opted for VIP section so we get showers (YEY) actual toilets (YEY!) and just less people camping so there will be more room (yey!).

Not sure about the meal maybe somewhere really nice but again all depends on money.

Aside from all of that, how are you doingJ

Lui your festival hen do sounds awesome!

I don't think I'll have one myself although my OH keeps mentioning a joint stag/hen in the south of France. We've already got 2 kids so actually I don't really want to do a long weekend thing. Might have a small day/night out in london maybe. Just a few cocktails is all I need nothing crazy.

i am also currently at work but bored so here I am. Must actually do something today!

    Thanks AnnaMolly Smiley smile

Either would be nice but I can imagine trying to arrange someone to look after the kids would be hard when everyone close would probably be with you. Londons a good idea! Have you thought about cocktail making? That may be nice for you guys to do and nothing crazy plus, could always look for a signature cocktail for your wedding?

All these thoughts when I have so much work to do! hahah! I should stop procrastinating! oops.

Wow everyone has some really special plans for hen parties! We booked mine the other day - a weekend in Palma Nova (close to Magaluf but not actually in it!). I wanted a cheap sunny weekend with just the girls, then I'll have a UK one when I'm back. Probably just into town or something. I know OH's family will want to go and there are hundreds of them so couldn't really make plans for anything special, I think it will just have to be a night out! Maybe kareoke or something

    Hi ladies!

AnnaMolly - your dress is amazing! I keep wanting to try mine on, it's currently being looked after by my Grandparents as I have nowhere to keep it! It still needs altering so I'm trying to pretend it's not there!

Lui - your hen do sounds fab! That's my ideal hen do but none of my friends would enjoy the camping, even the VIP one! I go to Silverstone every year to the F1 with my fiance, brother and dad. None of my female family members see the appeal!! I actually got engaged at Silvertone in 2013, I was proposed to on a helicopter!

So I promised I wouldn't do any more planning for a while but I cant help it! Just started having a look at invites.

Lui - I'm from the midlands too! Which shire are you from?!

Dont worry about having a rant - LittleMissPanda and I were talking (moaning) the other week about money and saving it and how we are having to live on beans and toast for foreseeable future! Its not like we have loads of disposable income becuase we dont, and what we do have goes straight into the wedding pot, but I am feeling like a hermit becuase of not going out anywhere!

Where ara you travelling to after your wedding? We are in the same position as you, my holiday runs fron Jan to Dec, and I need a 4 weeks off from work to accomodate the wedding and the honeymoon, which only leaves me with three other days for the entire year! And it means I will have to work all of next christmas, which im not too happy about as i had to work all of this christmas too due to only joining this company in May last year and not having much holiday!

I dont usually moan so much, i do apologise, I think i have january blues or something! ha!

I've just been researching vaccinations for our honeymoon and we need to have 6 injections, plus some tablets too! My poor arms are going to hurt so much! i think today I am counting down the hours till home time (i finish at 5ish) x

How much of the planning have you got left to do?! We are currently making our invitations! We have designed the actual invite and we are now working on all the other bits such as the timeline, accomodation, directions, money poem etc. I also need to email our vicar as he mentioned up abotu meeting in February but i havent heard from him and I am panicing as i know he is so busy and i want to make sure he sees us! x

Im in Warwickshire! Where are you?!

Im so glad im not the only one. All my extra cash is going into the wedding, on top of paying house hold bills and running my car and now seems to be the time where all my friends want to see me and go to the pub to meet up when I don’t have much cash. I still go just to get out the house but drink lemonade and nurse it for ages.

I know what you mean, I can’t wait to have money back I haven’t even brought myself new clothes in a long time and I’m looking forward to saving up some money over two months and just having a splurge on clothes and make up which I am in great need of.

We are not sure yet as we can’t afford a honeymoon so are asking our guest for money towards one. I’ll be happy going anywhere but my dream place is Bali. Really want to go there and just relax and do nothing, h2b is looking at travelling around a bit, I will just be happy to go anyway warm and exciting.

    Where are you going to?

6 injections and tablets, man thats alot!!

Tell me about the holiday situation, we have to work over xmas anyways due to the company as its our busiest time, but waiting until the 30th October for any form of a break is going to hurt!

I normally don’t call in sick but this year I’ve explained if I’m sick and tired and need a rest I may have too.

Lui I'm Leicestershire!!! Although our venue is just across the border in Warwickshire!!! What a small world!!! Where is your wedding venue?!

lol about the lemonade - i completely get where you are coming from, Im usually a savignon blanc kinda girl, but now when we go out I have a sparkling water with lime cordial and try and make it last, but trouble is i drink it with a straw and it never last very long!

We are going to Mauritius, we fly 3 days after the wedding! (exacty 9 months today!) Although we are paying for our honeymoon, we are arent asking guests for presents so we are asking for money for the honeymoon instead. We have lived together for 2 years so we dont really need much for the house, as everything is relatively new! The only things we need are large items (ie drinks cabinet, bbq for the garden) and i wouldnt dream of asking guests to buy anything that expensive. Most are aware that we are asking for money and are all ok with it thankfully!

Given that you live so close to me, who are you using as your florist? I want silk flowers as I really want to keep them all after the wedding. I am just waiting on my local florist to give me a quotation, but id ideally like to get comparison quotes from a few others!

Sick days... that would be nice. Id just know that if i took one, id be worrying about the work pilling up for when i return to the office and i wouldnt enjoy the day off! I usually have a week off for my birthday in august - so far i have never worked on my birthday, but this year its looking very likely that I will be! Might just see if i can work from home that day instead!

This looks gorgeous! I wish i was there now!! How many of you are going?!

I love pinterest - although I keep seeing so many awesome ideas and wish I could do them all, but it would just become sooooo expensive! I havent bought my bridesmaid dresses yet, i have seen someones i like online, but i havent seen any in the shops over the past year at all. My colour is pastel/baby blue, so its very difficult to see anything in a high street shop and I refuse to pay £200+ for a bridesmaid dress from a bridal shop!!

I think there will be about 18-20 of us going to the manor house. it works out at about 100pp for fri and sat night and any extra will go towards food and drink, plus a night out in york on the sat night, not into the clubbing scene anymore so will be a nice meal and maybe cocktail making then back to the house for karaoke on singstar!!

I keep pinning ideas on pintrest to show my OH and either get a wrinkled nose response or a 'nice' response...I think ill be in charge of the centrepieces! lol! I've already bought ceramic wellies as the main centrepieces, I'm a farmers daughter and getting married in the yorkshire Dales so keeping a country/farm theme

    http://www.wmpot.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=118

I will be having a pumpkin carving area to to keep the younger ones (and probably some of the older ones!) entertained throughout the meal and speeches as my date is the 24th Oct

I'm having sage green, gold and cream as my colours but i remember seeing a lovely pastel dresses in phase 8 when i was looking. Im sure pastels will be available again once all the shops get the spring collections out

I hadn't even met my fiancee this time last year so all still feels very surreal!
