Thats so close to me as I’m in Coventry so only over the M69 J

Where are you getting married? My wedding venue is Nettle Hill in Ansty (https://www.nettlehill.co.uk/).

I’m normally a Gin and Lemonade person or recently Processco but now yep now lemonade person or water, depending on how i feel. It also helps that I’m trying to lose more weight so that I can fit in my dress as I brought it Feb (ages away i know) and if I have to pay for alternations I’d rather have to pay for it to go in then out!

    Whats your dress like?

Thats exactly the same as us, we have lived together for 5 years but moved in our own place almost 3 years ago and everything in it we own so there is nothing anyone can get us. (We also don’t have the space to put anything new... who knew men horde so much hehe!) It makes it easier for my family and h2b family as we are hard to buy for anyway hehe! H2B will be putting his work bonus (if he gets one) to the honeymoon so even if no one gives anything we can have a small one. If not we would wait until 2017 for one as h2b holiday runs from August to august so our wedding takes up his holiday for 2016. Where mine is Jan to Dec so that I’m suffering this year.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh beautiful J Love love love there!

Im not using a florist, I had origami flowers made which I’m going to have pressed. I did a post called flower flash that showed them but the ladies etsy shop is https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LilyBelleKeepsakes, she made them from scratch and she also made them really personal to our wedding which I love. I read something about Petal polly who does silk flowers. I do prefer them to normal flowers as you get the keepsake J

I would work from home but a laptop screen is far to small for the stuff I need open, plus when I’m sick if I don’t rest it lingers forever. I’ve had my latest cold for almost a month because I refused to be off sick. I was so lovely and snotty hahaha!

We are so close to each other! I live in a village 15 mins from Hinckley! It's such a small world!!!!

Your venue looks gorgeous and so idyllic! Which date do you get married?! We are getting married in our local church and then our venue is Ashton Lodge Country House!!!!!

http://www.ashtonlodgecountryhouse.com (my ipad won't let me insert a hyperlink) We went and had another look round on Sunday as they had an open day, and I got so excited! We've been engaged for 18 months and I'm kinda wishing the date would hurry up! although I know I shouldn't wish my life away!

My dress is a sweetheart too, fitted bodice and then it's quite poofy! I actually paid the deposit for it over a year ago, but I will love it and it should arrive sometime in March! I can't wait to see it again! I miss it! I know it sounds silly, but it's such a pretty dress I can't wait to wear it! What is your dress like?

Oooooooooo your flowers sounds gorgeous! That is such a creative idea! I shall have a look for the post! It's difficult to find flower combinations that I like. I know what I want, but not a lot of bouquets have them in and as my colours are pastel blue and pastel yellow I am struggling to find any! My florist has filled me with confidence though and felt he saw my vision, so I just need to wait for the quotation!

I'm not one for being off sick if I have a cold, I don't want to take advantage of having sick days in case I genuinely need them for something more serious! I do work from home sometimes, but I find I am distracted my wedding program's on sky, even though I make sure I work in the study, I find myself wandering into the lounge and turning the TV! x

It is such a small world! Not even that far from me J

Wow your place is beautiful, are you using the main room with the chandeliers as that is such a beautiful room! Little bit of wedding envy there. Hehe!

We decided on the 31st, it’s at the end of the holidays as h2b younger brothers and step brother and sister are at school and college so it’s easier without having to drag them out and miss a Friday to be here for the prep.

I was like that when I visited my venue on an open evening! I knew we had made the best choice J

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sounds lovely J I know what you mean about missing it J I have one photo of mine and its super hidden away so that no one can see it as I want it to be a surprise for my family on the day. It’s got a sweetheart shape but has material that takes it up and gives it shoulders. It then is sparkly and has a belt in the middle. Im probably not doing it justice haha Im super bad at describing it heheh.

That was what I thought with my flowers, as my colours are black and white I didn’t know where I would find that but when I saw these I just fell in love!

Oh god bridal tv shows are so addictive, the US version of 4 weddings is what I normally get hooked on as American weddings are so lavish.

I get the same looks from my OH when I show him my wedding pintrest boards! He clearly has no taste in decor so I'll decide on that Smiley winking

Thanks Sparkly Bear! It was very unexpected, we did a flight over the circuit on the Saturday just before qualifying and my birthday was the day after! Best weekend ever! All I've got left to do is sort invites, mine and my bridesmaids shoes and accessories, arrange hair and make up, buy fiancés ring, dress alterations and contact the registrar to register our marriage!

I've had a go at designing the invites so just need to work out what to do with them! Our reception venue has an open day in February so might have to go along just to have another look!

Lui - me too, it'll be my 9th silverstone weekend this year, can't wait! Although not the best idea when I have a wedding to pay for.... my poor credit card!

We're all so close, I'm in Nottingham!

Awwww thank you Lui! Yes we are using the room with the chandeliers for our reception drinks, and then the breakfast and everything else will be in the marquee!

Your dress sounds lovely! You haven't done it an injustice! I find it difficult to describe things sometimes! It sounds very pretty and sparkly! Quite a few close people have seen my dress, I can't can't keep it secret!!!!! To fair, I'll pretty much talk to anyone who will listen about wedding stuff generally! Although I'm sure my work colleagues are sick of hearing about it all!!

Have you seen 'say yes to the dress' on TLC in sky? I'm addicted! I was initially worried that I'd see a prettier dress than mine, but I haven't seen anything that even comes close!

I can't be bothered again today! Have so much to do! I just have the feeling that I have so much to do, and I don't know where to start!!! xx

You should definitely go to the open day! Our venue has one once a month, and I always go to it, I just drag a different person along with me! And they have free champagne and sweets so it lures me in!

wow, your Nottingham! We are all so close!! Which venue are you getting married at?!

Our invitations are taking ages, there's so much information to put into them, and different guests get different information so I feel like there's loads still to do!!! What are your invitations like?! xx

That sounds lovely! That room would be too beautiful not to use. The marquee is great! Are you having heaters in it at all? Although with how previous Octobers have been I doubt you’ll need them.

Im exactly the same, although I do wonder if people are getting bored of me too! Its nice to come here and just get all the wedding talk out and then I can pretend to be normal and not over excited to everyone else J

I have only watched an advert. Is that the one where they find a dress but may be too big for it so exercise to try and get into it? I know they are doing a UK version of this and they are looking for brides. Although I couldn’t think of anything worse than the whole nation watching me exercise haha! Its not a pretty sight!

Me too, I’m running my department today as my manager isn’t in and I have some work but I’m looking at it like nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Lol!

Ohhhh do you mind me asking, have you started looking at invites yet? I’m stuck at where to look as h2b wants to completely design them but I have seen somewhere that allows that much creation that has the style I want. I want them to fold out and have the writing in the middle, does that make sense? Lol, again my describing skills help me out.

    Hi ladies Smiley smile

    How are we all today?
Hope you had lovely Christmas and New Year breaks!
Anyone else supposed to be working but spending time doing wedding stuff instead...?

Looks like lots has been going on...269 days for me (and Sparkly Bear of course) ?

AnnaMolly - your dress is gorgeous!
So happy for you that you found "The One", it'll be here before you know it Smiley smile

HappyOrangeConfetti - Good luck trying on wedding dresses, hope you have a fab time!

leah.eddie.rosie - Congratulations on your engagement and wow your organised!
Planning a wedding in 11 months, plus working & juggling uni studies, I'm impressed Smiley smile
Trust me...there's always things to do though :p
It's nice to hear other people getting excited about their big day so please feel free to share!
Sorry to hear you've had family politics already, I hope it wasn't too serious

Lui - I'm always having money wobbles, and same as you I have loads of spreadsheets so I'm forever checking them to try and reassure myself.
It can get a bit much trying to save every penny, especially when I hear about people's amazing honeymoons Smiley sad
My OH and I can't afford a honeymoon so we've have to save (again) after the wedding, we're hoping to go on our 1 year anniversary.
I love the sound of your hen do!! It sounds like loads of fun, hope you have nice weather for it Smiley smile
How are the rest of your plans coming along, have you had any luck with your invites?

Stephied9384 - I'm also very jealous of your sunny weekend away hen do!
    It sounds amazing Smiley smile
Glad I'm not the only person having two hen do's as well, although I've no idea what to do yet =/

MrsFRtobe - your hen do sounds lovely as well, I might have to start pinching some ideas from you ladies Smiley smile
How are the rest of your plans coming along?
I like the sound of your colour scheme, I remember when you mentioned it before ... what are your bridesmaids dresses like?
I'm obsessed with Pinterest too and I get the exact same reactions from my OH as well, maybe its a guy thing!
Your centrepieces sound like they will be really cute Smiley smile

SaraPoppy - I'm really sorry to hear your not excited about your wedding anymore Smiley sad
Have you decided whether or not you will elope?
It is so stressful trying to please everyone, and it's not easy to ignore all the barbed comments (believe me I know).
I think your OH's sister is way out of line though, people don't seem to realise that it's not up to them it's the bride & groom's decision.
Could you maybe elope but then have a blessing and a party after?
You might not care about people's comments then because you will have married your OH the way you wanted Smiley smile
I hope everything gets sorted for you, big internet hugs

SparklyBear - how is everything going for you?
I haven't been able to get onto Hitched much whilst I was off work, I feel like I've missed loads!
I'm always watching "I found the gown", and I was so worried I'd see a dress nicer than mine but it's made me love my dress even more yay!
How are your invites coming along?
I'm having to try and find somewhere to get mine done now as my family friend has totally let me down and its freaking me out completely

    xx

Totally should be working right now but just browsing on other things!!

    Thanks lovely J

It is a shame but if we can go anywhere just away from home even for a weekend that would be nice. I like your idea of going on Holiday for you anniversary J Thats a lovely idea and it would make both super special! Least it gives you more time to save so that you can go anywhere. Do you have any ideas of where you would like to go?

I do hope the weather is nice although if its not its part of the fun, luckily the camp site is on a hill so nothing like Glastonbury images!

The rest of the wedding is OK. Today I made h2b email the venue so we can discuss timing for our wedding and we are giving notice on the 27th of this month. Mainly because if we don’t do it soon we will completely forget when we start getting into the spring where we have more stuff to do. Hows your planning coming along?

I still haven’t figured out invites and a place to create them, I have an imagine in my head of what I want but I think im just being super picky.

    Hi Ladies!

we looked into eloping but unfortunately we can't afford it. We would still want our reception and we have put too much money into that to cancel it now. We have decided not to mention any of our plans to family so then they can't have an opinion. I'm sad because it feels like my fiancés family have been talking about us and the general consensus is that he has 'settled' for me. His brother let this comment slip last week. They think he has no choice but to marry me because we have a son. His brother keeps making comments about our son saying he was a mistake which is really hurtful. Little does he or his family know that our son was very much planned.

We are staying with his family at the moment as we are having work done in our flat. It's very awkward! But I did find myself searching the Internet for a few wedding bits yesterday which is great as I had lost all interest in it. Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue to grow and the feeling of dread will disappear.

Everyone else's wedding plans seem to be coming along great. The dresses look/sound lovely!

I promise not to be the one on a downer in this group! I will try and stay positive :-)

If you need to vent and get stuff out lovely this is the best place to do it! Dont feel like your bringing a downer on it because your not!! Everyone needs a place to just let things go and sounds like you don’t have the freedom at home at the moment.

I bet it must of been nice to notice you were looking at wedding stuff and you know what who cares what his family think of you and what not! He wants to be with you, he planned your little boy with you. Your h2b decided to do all of this so they clearly know nothing and wouldn’t be surprised if they are just jealous as you have something that’s secure and that makes you both very happy.

Either way I’m sure all the other brides will agree, we are here for you J

Haha I knew I couldn't be the only one not doing what she should be!

Well we're booking a Sun holiday this year just so we can get away, so if the worst comes to the worst we'll do that next year as well.
We don't mind where we go, I've only been aboard twice (Portugal & Gran Canaria) and my OH has only been once (to Gran Canaria with me) so anywhere would be a massive adventure for us.
I like the thought of going somewhere where we can chill out for a few days, and then spend a few days doing stuff but every time I try and research I get so overwhelmed =/
But it will make our anniversary super special which I'm rather chuffed with Smiley smile
Have you thought about where you and your OH will go?
    (apologies if you've already said)

That sounds like a well thought out campsite Smiley smile
To be fair though even when it poured with rain at Download 2013 we were alright, I don't any camp site can be as bad as Glastonbury!

Hope you get your timing soon, it'll help you plan the rest of your day then.
Good luck for giving notice (not that you need it, it's a doddle).

I'm exactly the same as you with my invites, I know what I want but not where to get them from.
I'm also have a mini freak out due to all the little things that need doing!!

    ETA...
SaraPoppy, I'm sorry to hear your having such a rubbish time atm Smiley sad
I think its very wise not to mention any of your plans to your fiancés family, although its very sad that they cannot keep their opinions to themselves!
Maybe your OH needs to let his family know that making comments about your son are very mean & hurtful, and whether or not your son was planned is none of their business.
Hopefully your flat will be sorted soon and you can get away from them all.
Glad to hear you had a little look at wedding bits, I'm sure the enthusiasm will return ... your marrying your OH in the way that you two chose and that's what counts.
I really hope things pick up for you soon and in the meantime, rant away!!

Ha I was the same yesterday. Me and Sparklybear were having a conversation all day regarding our weddings, its hard to be focused right now as we have just come out our busy time at work so now its calming down and there is not as much work for me. Although today is a bit different as Im looking after the whole department so should really be looking to do some work. (however I am doing two things at once so that kinda counts.)

Thats a ruddy good idea!! Should have thought of a sun holiday, ah well we’ve now booked our time off and will stick to that J

As you haven’t been many places the world is an open book for you. You guys should just get a map close your eyes and stick a pin in something and go from there! J We are looking at anywhere far far away! Although I want Bali hes looking at travelling holidays. Hes the same as you and not been many places but Italy, Egypt and Spain where I am lucky enough to have been loads of places (I used to work in the travel industry so I was lucky enough to get a discount.) But like you anywhere I’ll be happy with J

I think nothing compares to Glastonbury. Last time I went to boardmasters it rained all weekend and there was no sign of mud! Thats why Im happy to go there apart from it being a good festival haha! J

I hope we are ok with the interview lol I have a fear I will say something completely wrong and it all goes wrong haha! I tend not to have a filter when Im nervous ha!

The little things are stacking up! Decided to slowly do something each month so this month is notice, hopefully timings and then underwear.

Next month i’ll look at testing out the centre pieces and looking at how to create table numbers while setting h2b on the invites (when we find a place!)

I have the fear in the back of my head It’ll appear and I wont be ready/have enough money to pay things off!

Sparkly Bear - we're getting married at Welbeck Hall which is the registry office near where we live. It's next to a big suspension bridge over the river trent and the views are lovely. Our reception is at a place called the Riverbank which is a restaurant/bar which also looks out over the river right next to trent bridge. We've hired the room upstairs called The Gallery and it's really nice, it doesn't need much doing to it so that'll save money on decorations etc! How about you?

I bought a save the date from Not on the High Street so I've designed my invites based on this. I've been buying a few little crafty things off ebay the last few days, little wooden hearts to stick on and hessian etc. Think I'll have a go at getting them printed in a few weeks (after payday!). What do yours look like?

I can say that I get married 9 months on Saturday!!! Smiley smile

Jeeeez, I wrote two posts this morning, disappear to do some actual work (unbelieveable I know) I return and I've missed like a zillion new posts!!! Note to self: focus more on hitched, and less on actual work. Duly noted.

Lui - Yes the marguee is a permanent fixture so it has heating for the winter months and aircon for the summer months. We shall firmly be having the heating on! I am always cold at the best of times, so it be on! Even if only just for me!

oooo i havent seen the program that you have mentioned! the one i was on about is an american program and they go into this bridal shop (the name of it escapes me) and the bride has like 6 or more people with her (her entourage), and she tries different dresses on and they all give their opinions. All of which almost never agree! It is entertaining!

I have started my invites. We are making our own, and sound just like you have described.

    These are them ...

    http://www.pocketfoldinvites.co.uk/original-baby-blue-pocketfold-kit-4033-p.asp

So i bought the pocketfold and then we are making everything to go into them. The website provides the sizes of the inserts so its easy to figure it out. I have made some ribbon bows to put on the front of mine as i think they are a little plain as they are. If you have a look at the website they do lots of different styles! Let me know if this is what you were thinking of! if not I can have a search on tinterbweb for other things!

LittleMissPanda - how are you my lovely?! did you have a nice christmas and new year?! not long for us now! Only 8 months, 3 weeks and about 5 days!!! Woohooo! yes I watch 'i found the gown' too! I do love all the bridal programs! if i work home i'll watch them during my lunch break, only trouble is when OH comes home and turns the TV on it resumes on the bridal channel and it looks ike i havent been working!!! loooool

Our invites are coming along slowly! We have done the main wedding invitation for day guests, and we have done the timeline for day guests (its just like that picture i showed you!) I love it! We now need to work on the insert for the accomodation for guests staying at the venue and guests not staying at the venue. Then i need to do the money poem (cant find one i like) and then I need to do directions, as the postcode for the venue when in a sat nav doesn't direct people to the venue it stops midday down a road, and my venue is in the middle of knowhere! then i need to do all of the above for evening guests!

Sorry to hear the lady isnt able to do your invites anymore. What style of invite are you looking for? Its must be horrible having to look for someone, especially as its so close to them needing to go out. I'm not sure if this is any help or if you are evening thinking of DIYing your invites, but have a look at the above link, as these are what I am using.

How are all of your other plans coming along?! x

SaraPoppy - I am so sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time atm, I know its difficult and far easier said than done, but try not to let it get to you. Families can sometimes be the most insensitive of people, and can often effect us the most with the comments they make. Maybe is the brother jealous of the family you and your OH have? What is his relationship situation?

Dont worry about feeling down about things - i think the lovely think about the thread is that we are all hear for each other, and we are all happy to listen and advise where posibble on situations. Its like having a group of friends, but without any judgements!

Hopefully as soon as you move back into your flat thins will look up and you will start to feel better.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day - its raining here again today and looks blo*dy miserable outside!!!

    xx

Sparklybear – Thats awesome, I know what you mean, I’m always cold too so I need heating too! But Its good that its built in and you don’t have the big heaters everywhere least thats one thing you don’t have to worry about.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I haven’t seen that one, but I should, that does sound amusing. Thats the one they are making over here. Now it all makes sense to me! Hea should of really just googled it.

I’ve had a site and they look lovely and tempted now to create our own on some of it, however we are looking for ones where they print it for you as well. Something that folds out like this: http://www.pocketfoldinvites.co.uk/laser-cut-doily-invites-105-c.asp maybe not so doily like is what I would like but all the printing places just doesn’t offer for you to upload it all ourselves and we have to use their designs and templates. Maybe I will have to speak to H2b and see if we go down this route and work something different.

Like I said Im probably being over picky!!

The weather isn’t great here either, Luckily no rain but its dull, blustery and cold ☹️

Wow I haven't been on here for a few days and I have been seeing the emails popping up jealous that I haven't had time to read them! Just read through everyone's updates, pheew Smiley smile.

It's so nice counting down the months with all you ladies!

I am currently deciding on invites, I am considering making them myself as I just can't bare paying hundreds for them to be made, I might be being naïve. Lui - I am going for something like the ones you like, I found this useful video on youtube if it helps you, they are a little different but look fairly easy to make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YadbkWPbSTI

Or I might attempt these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVrwWi2GIOY I just don't want them to look cheap and tacky, I haven't really made anything like this before, so don't know if I'll be any good.

I'm also still trying to find my dress Smiley sad. I had a bit of a horrible time at an outlet store, I am 5'3" and a size 14, I am different sizes wherever I go, I just couldn't find anything I liked. I ended up trying numerous size 16s on which wouldn't even go past my hips (the girl told me I would be one size up), I then got really embarrassed and self conscious because the girl kept trying to squeeze me into these dresses and I knew they wouldn't fit. I then ended up trying 18s and 20s which were too big on top, and they don't clip the dresses so you get an idea of the shape, the girls there didn't really know what styles will suit me, I got really hot and flustered and just felt so ugly and horrible in everything and just wanted to get out of there asap. It has made me a bit scared of going again to try on dresses in case I will never find one I like, but I know I have to haha! Everyone I know has said that I will probably have a better experience in a bridal shop as they are trained and have experience of what dresses suit short curvy girls like me, I'm just so self conscious and It was a big thing for me to stand there in my undies in the first place, I really hope the next place are better. Have any of you had any experiences like this?

    xx

Those invites are beautiful. I think I’m going to have to end up creating mine. I want this sort of template (https://www.etsy.com/ie/listing/151463989/) but then have it fold out like this: http://www.invitationstyles.co.uk/brown-c-1_4_16/ but in black, maybe I will have to find something like the bottom image and then just create the design like the top one on a secondary thing and glue them in.

Probably be cheaper as well. Kinda resigning to the fact that it’ll be that. I think I’m just lazy and don’t want to make them as I have to make my centre pieces. Oh if you haven’t guessed our theme is black and white and day of the dead.

Oh no I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience. Which one did you go into? I would defifnately recommend a bridal shop, I walked into mine and I pulled some dresses out and they pulled some dresses out and I went with one of theirs which is completely different from what I wanted but suits my body shape to a tee. You may pay more if they don’t have a sale on but I think for the service and the help you get its worth the little extra.

Like i said they may have a sale on so this may be the perfect time to look.

Hehe love to see everyone chatting away, certainly makes a dreary Wednesday more interesting Smiley smile

Lui - I am rather pleased that we'll be doing a Sun holiday if I'm honest. We're hoping to go back to a park in Weymouth that we've been to before, but it'll save us well over £100!
Wow I can't imagine going to Bali, my OH isn't a very good flier so we can't really fly for more than 4 hours tops.
I'm quite jealous that you've been to loads of places though, I've always wanted to travel.
Sounds you definitely thought Boardmasters through, hopefully you'll have a blast!
I think its quite impossible to get anything wrong when you give notice as long as you know your details and your OH's name your fine Smiley smile
I had a mild panic attack when we had our separate interviews as I was convinced that my OH would forget that I changed my surname when I was 16 ... luckily he remembered!
Urgh don't talk to me about centrepieces, they are evil things that I cannot understand or make Smiley sad
For any unexpected money surprises ... there's always a credit card :p
    Btw your theme sounds amazing!!

Sparkly Bear - hiya hun Smiley smile
I had a lovely Christmas and New Year thank you, did you?
Hope Santa got you want you wanted :p
    Eek 8 months 3 weeks & 5 days!!
Glad I'm not the only one who's addicted to the bridal programmes, when I looked after my niece recently we watched about 3 hours of them ... she loved all the "pretty princesses" bless her.
I don't get the opportunity to work from home which is a very good thing as I'd do no work at all, fair play to you Smiley smile
Blimey that's a whole lotta invites you got going on there, would love to see a flash when your done & am glad your timeline worked as well.
I have a few money poems that my OH and I liked if you wanted me to share them with you? They might not be what you like but you never know.
I'm so stressed about my invites :'(
I can't DIY to save my live, I'd love to make my own but it would go so wrong and I'd end up glued to the floor ... no joke!
I have so many other little things to do that I think my head might just explode
May have to have a time out in a minute haha

Future Mr's R - I'm sure you'll make great invites if you do decide to do them yourself Smiley smile
I'm really sorry that you had such a naff time dress shopping though, although if it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to me when I went to a (cheapy) bridal shop.
Took me a few months to be able to face it, and in the meantime ended up buying a dress online ... which I'm now stuck with and trying to sell lol!
I would say definitely go to an experienced bridal shop, maybe do some googling for reviews first?
The assistants should know what will suit you but you'll have to give them ideas about what you likes as well.
The dress I fell in love with was picked for me by a bridal shop assistant and honestly its something I'd never have picked myself but its perfect for me and my shape Smiley smile
Have you had a look on Pinterest to see what other brides have worn?

Now ... should I work or look for invites ...

LittleMissPanda- Thank you, I think I am definitely going to a bridal shop, I just thought I'd try there first as I had seen some lovely dresses on the website priced at £500 max and was hoping I'd save some money and fall in love with one...wishful thinking!

I have completely changed my mind after trying on a few, I love lace dresses but I also found this Amanda Wyatt one that I love online, and they stock it not too far from my house, so I hope to go and try it on in the next few weeks, I emailed the shop and the sample is in a 14 so hopefully it will give me some idea of the fit. It's a lot plainer then other dresses I have likes online/ Pinterest but I may get a few gems added or even a belt possibly. I might hate it on! I'm hoping like you the shop will pass me a dress that I would nevr have chose and I'll feel amazing and fall in love.

BTW Ladies...I think it is "Say yes to the Dress" that you are all talking about...it's on E! or TLC. I am obsessed with it. These womens budgets are unreal sometimes :-o

    Future Mr's R - your very welcome!

Just remember, there's nothing stopping you trying on dresses in a bridal shop and then going back to the outlet when you have a better idea of what styles/shapes work for you, that's what I would do Smiley smile
You might get your dream dress for a bargain price then...
I love lace dresses too, the dress you've flashed is gorgeous and if you wanted to bling it up you could, although I think its lovely Smiley smile

Ooh I love "Say Yes To The Dress" ... "I Found The Gown" is good as well, they tend to have smaller budgets and I don't end up hating most of them lol!

Ok I really need to watch this program!

H2B is going out Friday night so I know what Im doing – seeing if there is any on catch up on sky and watching that! I feel sad that I haven’t seen it now hehe.

Littlemisspanda, I love going back to places I’ve been that hold great memories, i would only go to certain places if I could! To be honest I fell into the right job at the time, if it wasn’t for that I would of hardly been anywhere as I was a student at the time.

I’ll have to let you know how it goes although I know youve done it! No one else I know whos getting married out my friends is doing it as they are all having church weddings and they deal with all of them, so I cant talk to anyone else about it.

My centre pieces need putting together and decorating which I’m really worried about. I fear that I may wreck them, but I have a practise one and will have to see. I’ve also got to create loads of them at my mum’s because my cat Archer is a pain in the backside and will want to know what we are doing and he will be jumping around and getting his fur on everything ha.

I wish we would go down the credit card route, but I don’t have one or an overdraft (i had a silly time when I was a student) so now I don’t have any of them but we shall see. Regretfully there is always dad whos willing to help out but I don’t want to as its my wedding and I need to pay for things.

Thank you I’m excited about the theme as its not something I have seen done over here in the UK. EEP!

Sounds like everyone is having a time with their invites!

When are you guys sending yours? Im thinking of sending them 6 months before as many have to go to Somerset and the south so gives time to get there and get people to reply.

Plus it’ll be a big worry of my mind when it hits peak crazy time.

Firstly (I have missed so much!) there's a BRIDAL CHANNEL??! How come I did not know of this? Is this actually a thing?!

I've been thinking about my invites today and I'm still debating whether to go DIY or not. Really like the pocketfold idea. I'll have to look into it some more. I'm sure I'll get inspired/encouraged by hitched to DIY and they'll turn out awful. My creativity is lacking.

I'm gutted I had to go on a site visit today and had to do some actual work. I should get paid to be on hitched Smiley winking

oh yeah, and I agree, let's keep the October thread bumped up all year! Smiley smile

    Morning everyone Smiley smile

So firstly, very exciting news ... Brideday Friday on TLC starts this week!
A whole day of awesome trashy bridal programmes yippee ?

Lui - So when is it your giving notice? I was really nervous before I went but the registrar we spoke to was lovely and it was much more straightforward than I'd been led to believe
What places would you'd pick for a honeymoon if you could go anywhere? I tried asking my OH last night and the response I got was "As long as there's alcohol I'll go wherever you want". So helpful!
Haha my mum's cat Gizmo is exactly like your cat! Every time I try to wrap presents/read a paper/write a card he insists on sitting right in the middle of it Smiley smile
Hopefully your practise centrepiece goes well and then all the others will be a doddle ... would love to see a flash when you've done some
Ah well at least you have your as Dad as an emergency back-up if needed. I took out a credit card specifically for the wedding, I've paid deposits etc on it and then paid it off straight away as I have no credit so I figured now was a good time to build up my score.
I've never seen your theme done before anywhere it sounds awesome! I don't even have a theme, if I like it it's going in lol
Sparkly Bear and I were discussing when to send invites the other day, and I believe we both said we were sending them at the beginning of April. I'll have a look back at the thread and see if I can find the post (it was only 2 weeks or so ago)

AnnaMolly - I think we should get paid to just be on Hitched, its much more fun than actually working Smiley smile
I've got the same worry as you, I like the pocketfold idea but I know if I DIY my invites they'll look like my 2 year old niece has made them ... how does everyone make it look so simple??

SparklyBear - I looked for invites, I got freaked out by the cost ... so I looked for shoes instead! Oops...

    Good Morning Ladies!

LeighB3 - Your receptions sounds gorgeous! The build looks so lovely from the outside! I love the ouside lighting! We are getting married at our locla church and then having the reception as Ashton Lodge Country House https://ashtonlodgecountryhouse.com/ - We got our save the dates from Zazzle, and then I have recently made out RSVP postcards in the same style - i'll try and find a picture/the design somewhere! Whats next on your list to do?!

Lui - I was looking at those Laser Cut ones, they are really gorgeous, I love the intricate detailing on them! How many guests have you coming to the wedding?! How are you today? I'm in the office and its still dark! Plus its blowing a gail and pouring with rain! Think i need to get myself a brew asap!

Stephied9384 - I turned the emails off! I was ending up with so many that it was clogging my inbox! I must come on hitched at least 10 times a day to have a nosey and see whats around! And i love our little gorup too! I think we are the most active month, aside form September 2015, they seem to always be on the first page of threads too! How aer you plans coming along?

LittleMissPanda - Christmas and New Year were lovely thank you! It went far to quickly as I had to work for all of it except the bank holidays and weekends! I have a week off at the end of Feb though which will be nice - I am really looking fowrard to it! I really am obsessed with the bridal programs! I just wish there were some english ones instead of them all being american! Didnt the UK do a 'Four Weddings' program at one point? I know we have Dont Tell the Bride, but im getting a bit bored of it! Would you mind sharing your money poems with me? I have only found the one, and my OH isnt keen on it. I shall send you my email address via PM and then you can just reply if thats ok with you? lol about the invitations, I have certainly glued my fingers together a few times! But once ive done it a few times, I learnt not to do it again!!!! How was the rest of your afternoon? Did you look for invitations?!

AnnaMolly - Yes there are bridal channels on sky! I know one of them is TLC its the one I am addicted too! Totally agree, Id love to be paid to be on hitched!

EDIT: LittleMissPanda - i luuuuuuuuuurve shoes!!! good substitute for Invitations!

Hope you ladies all have a good day. I have a feeling i'll be very busy! xx

I think i have deviated from this now!! I am sending my day invitations at the beginning of March with an RSVP of 31st May, and then I am sending my evening invitations at the beginning of June with an RSVP of 31st July. My venue needs final numbers 2 months beforehand, and I also want enough time to create the table plan and not stress over it!

I am all over that this Friday night! Hehe!

I’m giving notice on the 27th Jan. Once it’s done it’s doneJ. That gives me a little bit of a calm, I’m just not a fan of interviews, I’ll probably be fine on the day but it’s always the nerves that I build up thinking I’m going to flap it. It’s the same when I have do interview anything.

Ha I like your h2b response; it is something mine would say too! I think it’s like a standard response.

That’s exactly like archer, he’s a pain. I will totally flash it when I’m done it probably won’t be until spring when there’s more time and more daylight about as right now it’s up!

That’s a good plan with the credit cards. That’s what I’m going to do after the wedding as I’ll have more spare cash so I can make purchases and then built it up that way.

I was thinking May time for my invites, with the few weeks difference between our weddings I think that would fit perfectly. Great minds around this place J

Sparklybear – I’m good thanks, its super dark and rainy here too! Makes me sad at the moment as I don’t think I’ve seen day light this week at all.
