official title/roles for son

November11bride, 11 of October of 2011 at 12:43 Posted on Planning 0 7

MY oldest son (22) will walk me down the aisle and 'give me away', my other son (almost 18) will give a speech (the traidiotnal father of brie speech) and i will travel to the church with both my sons

My youngest son will probably take my flowergirl, his niece, - 2yr old Lily down the aisle (as we dont think she will do it on her own and mummy is happy to let someone else take her so that mummy gets her moment in spotlight - her words lol)

Anyway i was wondering what my sons actual role/title could be and thought perhaps Escort of Bride would be right but think it also sounds a bit wrong,

Escort of Bride.........

Bride Escort.............

anyone any suggestions?

i am think in terms of thank you cards, and putting roles on place cards - dont really want to say Thank you for being son of the bride lol or put Son of Bride on place card - the others all have a role, bridesmaid/flowergirl/best man

I would go for the titles of Man of Honour for the son walking you down the aisle and Best Man for the son doing the speech and Groomsman for the son walking the little one down the aisle? Sounds more personal than escort of the Bride.

It's a term that's evolved from people who don't have bridesmaids and prefer male attendants rather than females so don't see why you couldn't have two if you wanted! Maybe you could have one on each arm walking up the aisle - that would be nice for both you and them.

I'd love nothing more than both of them to walk me up the aisle but the aisle is just not big enough ☹️

I am now toying with idea of a Man of Honour - for no1 son who will walk me up aisle and Chief Man - for no2 son who will walk flowergirl up/down aisle and make the speech

    Thank you ?

Our son (who will be nearly 12 when we get married) is going to be our best man as apparently he will be too old to be a page boy (his words not mine)

    Hi
I have 2 sons ones 36 and ones 33 and both are walking me down the aisle as my dad and step dad have both passed away. Sooo what title do I give them both? The place we are getting married have said that the aisle will be wide enough... Thankfully... I have noticed that MAN OF HONOUR seems to be a favourite. Any other ideas

I am an older bride whose four adult sons will be "giving me away". I am not sure what the officiant should ask the oldest one. Who presents this woman to marry this man? Would that be okay? Getting married 9/2 so kind of need answer or thoughts. I'm working on the vows now.
