Oh dear Mother. The game's is called Bakugan NOT Bukake

KJX, 31 October, 2008 at 12:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

How can I convince my mother to stop calling the childrens game Bakugan 'Bukake'?

Bakugan is:- https://bakugan.com/en/home

Bukake is:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukake (safeish for work - perhaps wouldn't recommend it).

I jokingly called Bakugan 'bukake', she overheard, and will now not refer to it as anything else. Boy1 wants a Bakugan set for Christmas - I dread to think what she is going to ask for in Toys R Us.

And how can I stop her without having to explain what she is really saying.

Me and my big mouth.

    ??

I just clicked on the Wiki link.... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Tell her you googled it for the correct spelling and that bukake is a roode thing to mention. That might be a gentle way of telling her...

Whilst I knew what Bukkake was, I really shouldn't have clicked on the link to Gokkan. I feel sick now?

Tell her what it is. She's an adult - I'm sure she can take it.

Personally I didn't know what bakugan is.

Just tell her it's a rude word then the onus is on her to find out what it means if she wants to.

Alternatively do nothing and bask in the knowledge that you'll have given someone in Toys R Us a giggle. It all depends how virtuous you feel. ?

this reminds me of the time when over dinner at my parents house, my mother kept going on about parties and how they should have a spit roast. cue me and madam laughing until tears ran down our faces, and my having to explain to my mother what the other definition of "spit roast" was.

A few years ago my mother discovered the word "twat' - "ooo, it's like a cross between prat and twit, how handy" she exclaimed, and proceeded to use it with gay abandon, feeling it summed up some people very well.
