OH ring advice and alba rose advice

MrsB2015, 7 April, 2014 at 21:54 Posted on Planning 0 10

OH has seen a ring he likes on alba rose but were a bit worried that ordering online we can't see the quality or try it on. Does anyone have any feedback on alba rose or has anyone seen a ring like this along their travels. He wants it in white gold.

Thank you in advance xx

OH wanted a titanium ring and the nicest one we saw was in Alba Rose so we both ordered our rings from there. They are perfect, just as good as any we tried on in shops and I also saved quite a bit on my platinum ring compared to most of the places we visited.

Not sure where you live but there is an Alba Rose store near me in Bluewater (Kent) where they have samples of all the rings. Might be worth looking to see if there's a store anywhere near you x

Ditto with Alba Rose - they are fabulous

It was a god send that I spotted them online.

Their precious metals are a heck of a lot cheaper than high street places, as they appear to be the people who make the jewelry, on behalf of the high street shops. So you essentially get the rings without the store mark-up. They do have two stores themselves, so they aren't just these phantom people in internet world.

FYI, their diamonds also go up to D grade, and VVS2, which is a hell of a lot better than the high street too, and for less money. I couldn't believe that!

My OH essentially got the same ring as the one pictured, but without the bevelled/textured look to it. Just a matt look as the main bit, with the ridge and then the polished bit. He loves it. Good weight to it. Quality is fab.

Honestly couldn't recommend them higher. Also for anyone trying to get a wedding ring to their engagement ring - they do a bespoke design service for £25 and produce computer graphics for your approval Smiley smile

They do - but for me, after 3 months of backwards and forwards, they still haven't managed to make a design that is what I originally asked for ion the dirst set of paperwork. They have repeatedly forwarded incorrect designs, after 4 revisions, they then sent me the original two heinous designs. We have now had to buy temporary rings as they still haven't got it right, and run out of time to go somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sticking with it and hope to have thcorrect design in the next few months, they are super cheap for a reason. It WILL be awesome when it's done, but allocate plenty if time, and don't be afraid to keep telling them exactly what's wrong with it!

To the OP, you are buying "off the shelf" so I'm 100% sure it wil be perfect as you don't need to speak to the designers. But if you go bespoke, allow plenty of iteration time.

I couldn't recommend Alba Rose enough. My engagement ring is a funny shape and I couldn't find anything in high street shops that fitted it perfectly without a gap. I contacted Alba Rose about their bespoke design service, they sent me a pack out which I sent my ring off to them for them to take a mould of. I also included what a few design ideas. Within a week they had sent me 2 designs, I decided and then had my wedding ring within 2 weeks. Amazing price, quality, communication. OH hasn't decided what he wants yet but we will probably get from Alba Rose also, just need to find out what ring size he is first.

I had a completely bespoke ring made by them and their design service was fab, asked for it to be altered a couple of times and was sent new images within a day or two. They also sent a wax version of the ring so I could get an idea of what it would look like in real life as it is hard to judge dimensions from an image. Our rings arrived within about 2 weeks of ordering (both bespoke made) and we are chuffed with them. OH went for a matt finish and looks great.

If you are not near a store (Kent or Essex) you could also ask them if they have one (or even a similar design) in store to send you a picture of one in real life, I am sure they would be happy to do this.

I've been having a look at alba rose, their rings seem reasonable but I'd have to go with their design service, can I just tell them my budget and they'll work with that because I don't have a huge amount to spend? I can probably only spend about £250 on my ring.
