What are your views? Is it an over done style? Does it look like you've had too much hair growth? Just considering options to jazz my hair up a bit

I love balayage but it wouldn't work in my hair as the top needs to be dark for it to work and there is way too much grey now! Just ditched my red and had brown with highlights to try and hide the grey regrowth better!

Box dyes are evil. I've coloured my own hair for years & would never recommend a box dye. They always use a max strength developer (usually 40 vol) which 90% of people just don't need, so it just damages the hair unnecessarily (I use diluted 20 vol on mine which tbh is still a bit strong - I could get away with 10). Plus the other additives etc that they use do strip other natural oils out of your hair, meaning you have to intensively condition for aaaggeeessss to repair it properly & get it rebalanced. Nasty nasty things.

I always use box dyes but they're fine on my hair. I also wash my hair daily so I commit all kinds of hair crimes! ? My hair is in great condition though, never feels dry or anything.

Looks lovely - does it go right up to the roots?

    Thanks all Smiley smile

SW - it doesn't go from my roots, the top section of my hair was in a top knot whilst she did underneath, so any root regrowth is covered by my top layer of hair which is the brown and the blonde is then underneath. If that makes sense? Good job I am not a hairdresser!! ha!

I always use Nice n Easy. I decided to go to the hairdressers to have it coloured earlier this year and it was horrible. I paid £70 with the cut and blow dry and I dye it myself for £5.99 so will carry on doing that!

That Olia stuff is horrible. I don't dye my hair anymore (well, I do, but I go to the hairdressers now), but I used to, and I tried that Olia stuff once and it was horrendous.

Try a different one. They're not all awful haha.

I used box dye for years and years and then helped out a mate who was training and needed to colour someones hair. Never went back. There is no comparison to the finish and how long it lasts.
