OMs - cost of courier for a wedding dress?!

Hello!

I may have sold my wedding dress and just wondered if anyone could recommend any couriers/delivery companies to send my dress with. It's in an acid free box so rather bulky. Would appreciate any recommendations and costs!

    Hi

    When I had to send my dress to a seamstress for alterations I sent it with royal mail. It did cost £80 though. Most of that was for the insurance as it was worth so much. (insured for £1600) I had to do it in a rush so didn't have time to look into couriers though.

    I know others don't rate them but we use myhermes for all our courier things. They are really reasonably priced and have always been faster than the 3-5 day service option we pay for.

    I know who not to use- DHL their customer service is shocking!

    Dont use yodel.

    I was buying several things from a company that used yodal and NONE of it arrived! 3 items ordered at 3 different times!

    Yodel is the new name for the merged DHL & Home Delivery Network - the original 2 companies were pants as is the new one!
