But £10 a mug. Hmmmmm can I justify them? Do we like Cornishware? I think I like it, even though I live in a 1960s box and not a fabulous countryside cottage with a range cooker ?

Oooooh now I'm a soda syphon kind of girl - fab! I have one of the round ones that was my grandparents in the 1960's when they were running pubs. The others I have aren't as special though but I still love them.

I have some mugs by Edward Monkton. My favourite one is called the 'Meaning of Life'. It says:

    Sometimes its a chicken
    Sometimes its a chair
Sometimes its a piece of cheese
    Suspended in the air

I like silly mugs - they always cheer me up

In a charity shop today I found one that said "I'm not a slut, I'm just popular" and "I heart spreadsheets". They were both brand new and I wish I'd bought them now.

I love mugs. We have a couple of matchy ones from when we got married but they're mostly a mix of holiday ones (New York and San Francisco, just the 99c shop ones but I like them) and various tat collected over the years.

I've charity shopped so much crockery over the years. would have loved to have kept it all but I just couldn't, no space and no money for storage!

I too have the dairy milk square shaped mug. MrB bought it for me from a charity shop. excellent, but a git to drink out of ?

i love these. I used to work at T.G Green before it was sadly closed down ,it was amazing watching the old guy who did most of the cornish ware (think he was called George) working on the lathe to make the stripes on alot of the items. a true art.

also keen on the penguin books mugs and ladybird books mugs.

Hazel, have you seen these? I love them and want pretty much all of them!

My favourite mug is an Edward Monkton called 'The Beautiful Frock'. It says:

"Buy me Lady" said the frock "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL and WHOLE and COMPLETE Human Being".
"Do not be SILLY" said the Man "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True" said the Lady. "I will have the Shoes and the Bag as well".

Kaz, thanks! I have stickers like that from when I was an IT trainer.

Went to the in laws today and MIL had bought me a beautiful set of 6 bone china sweetpea mugs, in a matching box. I was quite taken aback! She is lovely and knows I love nice flowery things especially cups, but how lovely of her.
