Order of service/ order of the day.

MrsG2B28.7.12, 28 March, 2012 at 18:58 Posted on Planning 0 4

We are having a church service and I am just starting to think about our order of service but I would really like more of an order of the day. So I was just wondering what all the OM included or b2b are planning to include. Flashes are of course very welcome esp if accompanied by how you made them/ where 'bits' came from!

I'm the same, we are having a church service but I want to have more of a combined order of service/day.

Thank you's page (cast list and suppliers)

Timetable for the day with any extra on day info that guests may find useful (such as when might be the best time to go and check into hotel - if applicable)

    New marital address/email -if applicable

Plans for the following day - if you have any

I'm also thinking of having this on the back page - just because I can!

We're just having a civil ceremony but wanted to include an outline of the ceremony in addition to the order of the day. We're just going to print it on nice paper and fold... not planning to add any embellishments. I'm waiting for mine to come back from the designer but this is what we're having:

    Front:

    Order of the Day
    for the marriage of
    [Bride’s name]
    &
    [Groom’s name]

    15th April 2012, 2.00 pm

    Inside 1:

    Order of the Day
    2.00pm – Wedding Ceremony
    2.30pm – Drinks & Nibbles, Photographs
    4.30pm – Dinner
    6.30pm - Speeches and Toasts
7.30pm - Cutting of the Cake
    8.30pm - First Dance
    10.30pm - Evening Buffet

    Inside 2:

    Wedding Ceremony

    Welcome and Introduction

    Declarations

    Reading by [Reader's name] –
‘To Love is Not to Possess’

    Exchange of Vows & Rings

    Signing of the Register

    Presentation of the Marriage Certificate

“What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen each other in all labour, to minister to each other in all sorrow, to share with each other in all gladness, to be one with each other in the silent unspoken memories.” - George Eliot

We did a combined booklet with an order for the day, the civil ceremony and then the blessing. I don't have a copy to upload, but the format was:

Page 1 (on the inside, we had a decorated cardboard outside): Our names, date and place, names of best man, BMs and ushers

Page 2: order of the day

    Page 3: Civil Ceremony OoS

    Page 4-8: Blessing OoS

Very useful comments! Does anyone know where to find help with an essay? I've been asked a lot and I don't have time to write them all!
