Orders of Service - How Many?

WendyQ, 21 October, 2009 at 22:49 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi everyone,

bit of a mad question but how many orders of service should I have printed? One each or one per couple? Not sure what is the norm, someone at church suggested one between 2 but not sure if it'd be awkward to share one (hymns are in it) and also if it looks like I've scrimped! What are you all doing?

One between 2 (don't forget you and your hubby unless you know the hymns of by heart!) thats what my friend did the other month and it worked and thats what i'llbe doing too.

For 80 people, I printed off 50. Theres spares. One between two (for couples) and others for the singletons, plus the wedding party should get 1 each (sentimentalists want to keep their own copy)

dont forget that the minister/organist should get one too or at least a copy of the inserts.

I would say to look at your budget.

If you can afford one per person then that's great but one between two is fine although I would allow a few spare for where you get odd numbers of people (i.e. a row with 5 people would really need 3 not 2 orders of service).

Also remember that you will need some for the bridal party (sometimes it's easy to forget yourself!), one for the vicar and if you're having a choir some for them too.

    HTH Susan.

    Hi,

I was actually wondering the same thing.

I did want everyone to have one but then saw the cost of how much it would cost to have them printed and if extra people come to the church to watch and need one each, then it will be astronomical. I wondered though, like you, if it would look like we've scrimped if we did one between two?

    Paris. :-)

No it wouldnt look like that at all. I also made photocopys of the inserts as back ups for any unexpected guests who just wanted to see the ceremony.......

my brother says he still has some from being left over..... one tween two is perfectly acceptable...
