I'm glad you posted this sazel as I have one foot that is yucky! Yes just one as the other is a lovely foot!

I use one of those file things and then smoother in cream but it still doesn't make any difference at all so I'll watch this thread with much interest! I noticed in Boots the other day that Scholl have a heal cream that says it will make a difference in 3 days but I never believe what the packaging says. http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=11051&productId=28540

Tinks - its gone way past just soaking in the bath stage.

PG - i use a ped egg which works quite well but need to use it every day. I don't trust these miracle creams either and would rather spend money on something someone has recommended.

I use one of these - (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pedegg-Professional-Pedicure-Foot-File/dp/B001ANT6PQ) which is really good for getting dry skin off. Then I put ona load of cream and then socks on before I go to bed. This one is good - you can get it in boots and superdrug (http://www.flexitol.co.uk/).

I use two creams as I always get dry feet as live in crocs and flipflops.

I use Lush's Fairtrade foot lotion every day after showers and baths and I use Aveda's Foot Relief two or three times a week. I put loads on and then put a pair of cotton socks on over the top for the evening (wear slippers so you don't slip over!) Not had cracked heels or noticeably dry feet for years since I've been doing this.

I'd head to a chiropodist - don't be embarrassed they will have seen much yuckier feet believe me! More clinical than a pedicure they will be able to sort out any infections and also take a scalpel to any hard skin. After that use a cream once or twice a day and your feet will stay lovely for the summer.

I get dry feet and hard skin and go to a chiropodist twice a year to get them sorted out. I find Flexitol too greasy for me - I use CCS cream - available from Boots. Or even E45 cream. Though I might try the new Margaret Dabbs oil stuff if I am feeling flush (also in Boots). She is a fabby chiropodist so I have high hopes for her products!

I also find the ped egg good but nothing works as well for me as the chiropodist then daily creaming combo.

My feet are horrible, I hate them but everytime I shower or bath I use a foot scrub and a pumice stone which seems to work quite well, I would use the moisturising socks too but not as often as I should, going to do this for a least a month solid before the wedding and get the moiturising gloves for my hands out aswell ?

I use a footfile to sand away at them regularly and I have scholls deep moisturings lotion which is fabby and I do often leather it on and wear cotton sox on top. OH has a chiropodist whos lovely and so I too will be going for a treatment or two befor the wedding. i'm trying really hard to grow my toenails to a paintable length - I dont like 'long toe nails' and often cut em v v v short.

a pedicure can make em look nice but a chiro will make them feel good...... we pay just under 30 a session I think..

    Hello,

I go to the chiropodist about twice a year to sort my feet out, as they're awful if I don't , will be going just before the wedding also.

I used to go to Scholl which i'd really recommend, it has branches all around I think. But its recently been taken over & is now called Shuropody?

NICE! I feel for the chiropodists, I really do! Not a nice job, at all!

Has anyone used that lotion stuff that they advertise on the tv shopping channels? I think you put it on, then wrap your feet in cotton wool, then scrape all the skin off ( with a thing that looks like a scalpel) to reveal lovely, fresh feet. I can't remember it's name, but I've always wanted to try it.

Paraffin wax? I had a paraffin wax pedicure in Vietnam - it was pretty good. But nothing is as good as a professional with a scalpel IMO! I've told myself that when I have been a very good girl and shifted some extra lbs I am allowed to go here: https://www.margaretdabbs.co.uk:443/clinics/newclinic/

I have to handle quite a lot of feet in my job, and I'll bet you one thing - none of your feet are even half as bad as some of the ones I've seen!! I do sympathise with the teenager-feet thing though - they can really honk!!

What exactly is it about your feet that you don't find aesthetically pleasing?

I use the cotton gloves and socks with lots and lots of moisturiser as I get quite bad eczema (it's because of all the hand washing after touching manky feet all day!) I have tried using the various heel balms which they advertise to work in 3 days, but I found it made my heels really ache when I was standing up for too long, but I'm giving them another go at the moment.

I would second other people's suggestions of going to see a chiropodist, they can go deeper to curing the problem than they can at a beauty spa. Alternatively, have you thought about reflexology? Maybe the problems with your feet are just mirroring other problems in your body? I get really hard skin on the balls of my feet, even though I very rarely wear high-heels or non-sensible shoes, and apparently it's because I'm asthmatic! I don't know how much I believe this, but if it works for you......

Right - off to the chiropodist for me then i think.

I just have really nasty hard skin on my heels (that cracks) and the balls of my feet and along the sides of my big toes.

My nails also grow at wonky angles so i can't grow them long as i constantly feel them pulling at my socks.

In the mean time having a good scrub and moisturising witht he socks sounds like a good idea.

    Cheers folks
