Our cat hasn't come home tonight :(

Snowby, 13 October, 2012 at 01:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

We let our two cats out when we got home from work tonight as we usually do. The younger one (just turned a year old) is a bit of a wanderer but always comes back after a couple of hours. Tonight she hasn't.

Currently just sitting in the lounge, staring at the patio doors, waiting for a little face to appear Smiley sad

    Oh no. Smiley sad

I'm not at all knowledgeable about cats but I know when I was a kid ours used to go wandering for a few days occasionally.

I hope she comes home soon Snowby.

Oh no snowby hope she's home now? I'm sure she just fell asleep somewhere.

Our cat is old so he makes sure he is in so he can get on our electic blankets, but during the day he disappears for up to 12 hours. I really worry about him but he just strolls back in as If hes all the time in the world. Especially if she is young shell be out exploring.

Fingers crossed for you though Smiley smile

They do like to wander sometimes and make their mummies worry! The longest one of ours has gone is three days but I know bb's cat was gone a week and came back fine.

Hope the little one comes home soon. Try not to panic just yet. X

My previous cat used to go away regularly, sometimes for a week or two. He always came back fine and looking for fuss. They do make you worry though!

    Hope she comes home soon.

Panic over! She came home this morning, just in time for breakfast! ?

Feel a bit silly for worrying so much now, but it's so usual for her to stay out like that.

    So unusual, rather.

You should't feel silly for worrying.

Glad she's returned home after her adventure!

Oooh, I'm glad she's home safely. It's not silly to worry at all, I would be exactly the same if lizzy was gone for longer than normal. I bet the little kitty pretended like nothing had even happened?

    Glad she came home.

I have been known to wander the streets in my PJ's shaking a tub of cat biscuits when one of mine haven't come back. There's no way I could sleep if I knew they were still out.

I honestly don't know how I'd cope if that happened to me. Luckily none of mine have ever disappeared for long, if they've stayed out overnight it's usually because they weren't let out until late so I try not to worry too much.

I remember one of them got stuck up a tree once and I actually knocked on the neighbours door and asked if I could climb up and get her ?

As Mini said, mine disappeared for over a week last month.. He's just come back from a 2 week jaunt too! Drives me mental, I worry like mad.

We're trying to get the boys excited by the sound of the treat box so that they'll come home when they hear it. They're 5months now and desperate to go out but I am so reluctant to. You hear so many stories about the cats being hurt by people round here I am terrified of letting them out. Plus they're both so tiny still.

Glad your kittie came home Snowby.
