Overnight grey hair explosion

Voldemort, 19 April, 2008 at 21:48 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

Yeah I get that I've had a stressful time lately what with one thing and another. I get that stress can make you turn grey, seemingly overnight. I don't get that it can happen to meeeeeeeeeee!

I found my first grey on my 25th bday (about 4 years ago). I've had precisely 3 greys in all that time that I've been plucking out.

So why did I discover about 300 of the fuckers this morning that I swear weren't there last week?

I am armed with hair dye... look out for the needy hair dye disaster thread tomorrow.

Anyone else suffer from this? Or am I a freak??

I had that too. I found quite a few when I was about 24/25. I pulled them out, never to be seen again. That was until a month ago when I found a few at the age of 35. I have pulled them out and non have been seen again so far....how odd!
I have blondeish, redish, goldenish hair.

    I started going grey when I was 18 - I cried.

Fingers crossed for the hair dye.

    Hmmm well..

my mum got her first gray at the age of 14... then she dyed her hair for many years, but now the hairdresser has told her her grey hair is "too perfect" so she's grey. and proud!!

Mr Smith CLAIMS to find greys on me (i'm 24!!) but I deny it!![:I]

I got a badger stripe down my centre parting that i honestly believe came overnight.

i've got really dark hair and have had the odd gray since i was 19.
last year I put my hair up for work one morning and noticed some grays showing. i took it down to look and there was a patch of about 40 hairs where there had been none before!

I've been dying ever since lol

i've also changed my parting to the side. there is still the stripe that i found last year and i check before i dye it now for any new explosions.

why are we so conditioned to hate gray hairs though and why do they look like pubes?

Luckily no grey yet, but had a car accident a few years ago when my little boy was a new born - made me lose some hair and had patches of baldness which was a massive shock! Thankfully the hair has now grown back but I hear your pain!

I'm 40, and found my first greys a year ago. I get my kids to do a regular check to keep them at bay. So far though, I haven't forund any more.......

No grey hair for me yet(23) and hoping it won't be for some time. Mum has only started finding grey hairs in the last year or so, so I'm happy with that. Ex was greying really bad when we first met at the age of 24, he had loads when we split.

I've been really quite grey for years, and probably started in my mid-twenties. So yes, it's the hair colour every six weeks ? Just follow the destructions and make sure you do a skin test, you'll be fine, and have an extra-shiny head of hair at the end of it to boot.

The dye is on my hair now <wibble>

I actually bothered to do a strand test this time and it didn't look too red <nervous laughter>.

Dye will be rinsed off in 25mins... watch this space?

My H is almost totally grey and has been since we met when he was 26. I've been telling him it's ash blonde highlights for years and the git hasn't returned the favour. Shall I cull?

I always thought I had the early greying gene from my dad cos I started having grey hairs when I was 6. It was just an odd few here and there until mid 20s and I stopped having them since (am now early 30s). Very weird.
