Oxo cube and gravy granule munchers...

HatTrick, 13 of January of 2012 at 22:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 36

I have tried both of these delicacies tonight and they are just wrong! ?

Were you having me on or do you really eat that shizzle?

I don't get the gravy granule munching but with Oxo cubes, I will lick my fingers after squashing it. And if there happens to be a small piece still left, well, what can a girl do? It's the salt though, pure and simple. I sometimes lick and dip into the Maldon....

I should say that I don't just go to the cupboard and open the jar and go wild ?

I only have a teaspoon (or er, 3) whenever I'm doing gravy for dinner which is once a week on average

Doesn't it get stuck in your teeth? Or is that part of the appeal?

What made you decide to just eat 'raw' gravy one day?

You must be eating the wrong kind! ?

Bisto 'Roast Onion' Gravy powder, the ones in a jar (so not the thicker granules in a tub), are absolutely delicious.

I've been known to make gravy and DRINK IT when the weather is really cold.

    I'll get my coat...

I've never heard of anybody doing this! I did used to love drinking Bovril when I was younger and went to the football with my Dad.

I think I may be missing out and may need to have a sneaky granule or 2 when I go up to my Mum's for Sunday dinner tomorrow.

Does it have to be beef OXO's? Can I sample a chicken or veg one and get the same effect?

The thought of gravy granuales makes me a little bit sad.

My dad tells me when he was little they always used to have an oxo cube in warm milk to drink as a treat after swimming (i've never tried it i dont like milk much) anyone tried this?. I've not munched granules or a cube myself but i might have to try it, i like a good drink of bovril which is similar to drinking gravy.

Nope, Can't say that I have ever tried it. Made me bring up a bit of sick thinking about it ? ?

I may have to sneak a little bit next time I make gravy, to see what the fuss is about!

I've just been doing a bit of Oxo cube research and apparently there is 1.5g of salt in an Oxo cube and you are meant to have 6g in a day.

    Eat with caution...

I am reading this thread thinking you have all gone mad!

It's like OXO cubes are a new drug or something and have an image of you all sneaking off to the kicthen cupboard to get a fix whilst no one is looking.

Could OXO be the new chocolate??
