Panto Characters

poochanna, 11 September, 2008 at 15:30 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

I'm helping to organise a charity ball for the "c-word" and the theme is Panto. I have to design each table around a character and my mind has gone blank. I have to potentially come up with 30, well recognised characters or stories as a whole and don't really want to double them up, so naming 7 tables after the dwarves isn't really an option ?

So, can you think of any really notable characters? I have:

Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk, Prince Charming, Puss in Boots, Buttons, The Dames, Fair Godmother, Ugly Sisters ... that's me done ?

    Thanks!

Is there really a "Baron Hardup" or are you telling me fibs? It's not a special cow is it?

There really is a Baron Hardup although I can't remember what panto he's from. I've done a panto of Peter Pan before.

Wishee Washee from Aladdin, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell & Wendy from Peter Pan, Robinsoe Crusoe, Man Friday both from Robinson Crusoe, Wicked Stepmother from Sleeping Beauty, The Ice Queen & Kay from The Ice Queen

Can you tell what I used to do when I was little?! (I was always the fat fairy in the chorus, but landed the role of Dick Whittington one year, but got glandular fever 2 weeks before the show, so had to pull out....)

If I think of any more, I'll let you know

Mildred you are very good at this, do you want a job?

I am giggling at the thought of a fat fairy ? I won't suggest that as they'd make me dress up.

Is there a King Rat in Dick Whittington? I have to confess I've never seen a panto so I don't know what I'm doing in this thread. ?

There is a Tweedledum and Tweedledee in one panto, not Alice in Wonderland though. I was a mermaid in Peter Pan and Prince Charming in another.
