Paper/card for order of service..?????????

Nutella, 5 January, 2013 at 13:56 Posted on Planning 0 7

Going to make my own.. want it to be decent quality thickness so it's not flopping about but not too thick..

What gsm should I be looking at? and should I use paper or card?

Also any good place to get it from? I need about 250 sheets for less than £20!

I just paid slightly under £9 for 250 A4 sheets of 160 gsm. It's not the thickest but any thicker and it wouldn't be able to go through the heavy duty print at work (too heavy for our home one) and it would work with a decorative card cutter. Also couldn't find anything heavier without paying £30 more. They are an online retailer called papercutz.

    Hiya

I wouldn't use anything less that 280gsm for outer card. 160gsm is what I would class as paper and use for inserts. It's certainly not thick enough to make OOS out of I wouldn't say.

The cheapest is really PDA and the Super Smooth white card would be ideal for what you need. I would certainly check your printer to make sure it will take thick card. A lot of printers can't take that thickness.

If you'd like my help then please do shout.

Thanks Nat, I'll bear that in mind for the outer card, maybe get something a bit thicker for that.

PS - your hitched sig still has Nov offer in, just in case you hadn't noticed!

    I used PDA!

I used their Cryogen card for the outer, and matching paper for the inside. Stapled together with a long stapler.
