Pearls to scatter on table & teal ribbon

kelly29, 11 October, 2008 at 16:33 Posted on Planning 0 20

Instead of scattering crystals I want pearls - I'm looking for some about 4-5mm across if anybody knows any stockists.

Also does anybody know anywhere that really does teal ribbon? I need some 3mm satin and some 50mm satin. I know that if you google "teal ribbon" there are plenty of stockists who claim to sell teal ribbon, but I now have a growing collection of dark green ribbon samples, and despite the claims and the photos on the websites I can't find any that is actually TEAL! ?

Before I open "Kelly's Dark Green (not Teal) Ribbon Grotto", can anybody advise of anywhere I get some ribbon which is genuinely teal and not just pretending?

Thanks for your help.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FLAT-BACK-PEARLS-x-200-4mm-WHITE_W0QQitemZ310088729252QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item310088729252&_trkparms=72%3A1345%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Ebay........these ones are flat backed so they won't roll off the tables........thought about doing the same for my wedding but didn't want someone bringing out a law suit against me because they slipped..so opting for the flat backed ones.

I've tried Ribbon Oasis and their "teal" is dark green. Unfortunately there are no Hobbycrafts in East Anglia and my nearest John Lewis is Norwich, but I have been around most of the craft shops and haberdashery departments in Ipswich.

I've two shops left to try in Ipswich, but I've been out of the country for most of the last month, and now I'm back I've injured my ankle and I'm struggling to walk so I'm trying to do everything via the internet which is not easy when you're trying to colour match!

I'm going to bravely try and limp round a wedding fayre tomorrow though (providing I can actually drive!).

That's a very kind offer - bless you.

I already have my colour charts! The nearest match is Dulux Inky Pool 2 although even Dulux can't get an exact match on their website- https://www.dulux.co.uk/servlet/ColourSchemeHandler?name=inky_pool_2

Hi Jules - just had a discussion with H2B and we still can't decide exactly what design we're going to go with for our invites, so can't work out how much ribbon we may or may not need.

Therefore despite your very kind offer, I'm not going to go ahead and buy any at the moment, but if you happen to see anything you think might be a match, let me know as I may be able to mail order from them once H2B's stopped dithering!

Hi Kelly, I'm also a teal bride (pain in the bum isn't it!).

I've ended with loads of different shades of it too, but the one that matches the BM dresses the most is in fact malibu blue (saw someone else had mentioned this on here). Ribbon Oasis lies - their ribbon is definitely green!

    Does it have to be satin? MidPac have this;

    http://www.midpac.co.uk/shop/ribbon/grosgrain-(ribbed)/marine-blue/product.asp?c=406&i=1863&manu

I asked them for samples before and they sent them really quickly! (colour didn't match though....😡)

Does need to be satin which is unfortunate considering that I have actually managed to get grosgrain in the correct colour!

I'm going to try my last Ipswich haberdasher tomorrow, and then it will be back to collecting samples of dark green ribbon fron the internet again!

(n.b - if anybody is currently planning their winter wedding with a dark green theme, the grotto will probably be open next month for business...)

I thoguht 673 or 68 looked like they might be the right shade?

I'm the other way around - can find the right shade in satin but want grosgrain!
