Personalising a destination wedding

Just looking for some ideas of ways to personalise our destination wedding. We are only having 30 guests, we are all flying and therefore not masses of space for favours and decor bits.

I just wondered if anyone has had the same problem or know of a way to create a more personal wedding without the bulk.
I haven’t been to many weddings so am struggling with ideas, I have seen lots of framed photos, elaborate centre pieces and lots of big signs but none of this kind of thing is possible for us.

I'm not sure why there has been such an emphasis on 'personalising' weddings recently - I suspect it's an excuse to sell us more wedding-related items! Think of it this way - you and your OH are a unique couple. And your mix of guests will be unique. You can't get much more 'personalised' than that! Add in your choice of venue, music, readings, speeches, food etc and that is even more personalisation. You really don't need a load of signs, decorations and favours to make it more personal - those are just trimmings.
If you want photos (the one bit of 'personalising' décor that I think is useful as it helps guests get to know you better), you could either see if the venue has the capacity to project a slide show of pictures, or else ask them to provide one of those display boards - you can then take out printed but unframed pictures which will take up minimal space and weight, and stick them to the display boards.
But I honestly wouldn't worry about it. I've been to dozens of weddings, and what I remember first, is the people, secondly the venue. The other things that stand out are the interactions between people, and you can't 'personalise' them - they just happen!
