Pet friendly landlords

We don't have one either.

Not a bad thing for us, as we're not pet people.

(saying that, i'm not a baby/child person either, yet we have 4 of those ?).

What pet do you want?

We just want a cat or two but we cant seem to find houses that we like where the landlord is okay with pets or convince our current landlord.

Have you tried contacting some that say they don't take pets and offering to get carpets cleaned etc before you move out? That's what my mam did when they rented - found a place they liked then negotiated with the landlord.

She agreed to have all the carpets professionally cleaned before they moved out.

She was renting unfurnished though to that mat have helped?

We're renting unfurnished but I think my landlord is just a to$$er.

This is a good idea. But to be honest as a fellow renter, it really put me off when we were viewing if the current tenants had cats and I've also moved into somewhere where they had cats before and it hadn't been cleaned properly and it was horrible.

I should add I am most definitely NOT a cat person but thought this may be your landlords thinking

I have snuck Poppy into 3 properties. After about 4 months(or when anything needed doing so landlord had to come round) I've just casually mentioned her and luckily none have seemed to mind. Naughty I know. I think if they did say something I would say I was minding her for my Mum. She makes no mess, doesn't scratch things and goes out so I cant see the harm. This house is fine though, landlord likes her.

My sister does this with the dog and the cat!

The one I moved into was definitely the landlords fault, no question but I think what I was trying to get at was that we viewed a few properties as well where the current tenants who were still lviing there when we viewed had cats and it put me off them as well.

You can have my landlord and house PP, I cant stand either. Only benefit is that she doesn't mind the cats- but then we never asked her about it TBH.

My old Landlord in Southsea didn't mind about pets but that was only flats- not sure if thats what you wanted, especially not with a cat?

see I have 2 black and white ones, plus by bengal cross boy. A ginger one would fit the collection nicely.
