Photgrapher & videographer pricing

Estina, 16 August, 2022 at 15:22 Posted on Planning 0 7
Last year we went to a wedding fair where we found a company that do photography and videogrraphy.
We loved their vibe and we discussed we would love to use. I have looked at their packages and I'm not sure if the pricing is right.
What would the average pricing be for something like this. We really want to use them but unsure.
Thanks

Our photographer was £1250 for a full day, good value for the area, but I know he has just put his prices up to £1500 (honouring the original price for us though).

We decided against a videographer as it typically seems to be the same cost again, and it a 'nice to have' rather than a 'must have' for us.

Hi Chole, thanks for your reply. Yeah the company we have seen is costing 3950 for all day no set time, they have double photographer, videographer and drone activity.
All set to music with guest speeches. The bit I liked is that they do an engagement shoot too.
I think I'm just overwhelmed by the price of everything.Maybe it's me

For Surrey, that's probably not a bad price. For South Wales, we had quotes between £500 (half day, one photographer) to £2,000 (full day, two photographers, engagement pre-shoot and a fancy album). Factor in the videographer and the more expensive area, and I'd say you're probably about right.

Photography is expensive! I haven’t looked at videography because it’s not for us but whole day quotes for photographers for a whole seem to range in the £1k-£1.5k range and even more if you want engagement shoots, albums, second photographer etc. We have gone for a half day package in the end as we have a 4pm ceremony and I don’t want bridal prep shots so a whole day felt like an unnecessary expense. Half a day seems to range in the £400-£600 mark depending on your definition of half a day!

So factoring that in plus the fact you have an extra photographer, a videographer AND a drone I don’t think £4k is unreasonable (although obviously still very expensive!)

Is he based in Wales? If he is, don't forget you'll be factoring in travel to Surrey on top of the prices.

Would you consider just having photographs? Or just having one photographer? That would cut the cost.

Alternatively, you could look at trimming the budget elsewhere. After all, apart from your rings, the photographs and video are the only things you buy that last beyond the day.

To be fair we are getting married in Stroud in Gloucester so it's not to far to go at all.
My H2B wants his prep photos too hence why we are having 2 photographers 📸.
I just wish there was a average guide cos I just feel like we are spending lots and I don't know if its right or not
