Photo Booths :) Help and a Warning to you all !!!

MissPod, 17 September, 2014 at 18:02 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi everyone

I had booked Uber Booths for my wedding in St Albans in August next year. Paid the deposit via paypal and then not heard anything back. Been chasing them up and googled them for reviews. A lady said that they didn't turn up for her wedding in August this year ! Poor lady Smiley sad so sad. Luckily I have found this out now, and I am able to hopefully get a refund back via paypal.

Anyway, in the meantime is anyone able to recommend a reliable and reasonable company for me to re-book with ?

Many thanks

x

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I'm not familiar with booth companies in that area as I'm Yorkshire based.

I photographed a wedding on Saturday for a couple who had been ripped off on a Wowcher deal. They had booked their wedding photographer on wowcher but a week before the wedding discovered that their "photographer" had shut down a few weeks ago. She hadn't even told wowcher so they can't get a refund yet.

Oh dear not good at all. I'm glad you found out now so you can hopefully replace them.

I've photographed a wedding with these guys http://www.wackybooth.co.uk/ before. They cover Essex, London and Hertfordshire so I'm sure they would cover St Albans.

I've booked gigglebooth, they have a good rep and do great deals, not sure if they cover your area but they're prob worth asking for a quote, the are fast with pricing turnaround.

Don't wish to be the bringer of doom & gloom but Paypal protection only lasts for 45 days after purchase of a physical good and only covers item paid in one transaction. In other words according to their rules they don't cover deposits and protection only lasts for 45 days after you've paid.

You can't scrimp with photo booths. Wowcher and groupon deals seem very dodge as it costs £200 just to run the booth and provide the materials! I have done a DIY with an instant camera. This has cost me over £120. Always go with a legit company like giggle booth.
