Photo guest books...

Han85, 21 October, 2010 at 13:16 Posted on Planning 0 29

... is anyone doing a guest book with photos included?!?

I really love this idea but still struggling to find a guest book which has slots/sleeves for photo as well as space for ppl to write a message. I have seen one in the US which is not very pretty and it only holds 30!

Anyone seen anything like this or any HIB able to help create?!?

I like the idea of these - my friend had one a few years back and it was great. Think she stuck the pics in a normal guest book and we wrote next to our pic xx

Can't remember where I saw this idea but loved it - will try and hunt it down for you now.

But what they did was bought a large guest book with blank pages and had a polaroid camera so that the guests could take their photo stick it in the book and write their message next to it.

Yeah i think i will have to do that! Find a guest book large enough and set table up with sticky tape! Not ideal but best i think going to be able to do.

If anyone sees a lovely wintery large guest book - please post

    Thanks girlies x

You can get 'sticky corners' for sticking photos in that might work better than tape? x

Our photographer showed us one which she had made using a photo album online, so it was all printed together with space at the top and bottom of the page with lines for people to write their messages.

You can now get digital poloroid cameras, why not get one of those and a basic guest book.

We're having a photo guest book, but not with photos of guests - I'm making ours using Blurb and our engagement shoot pics and leaving blank pages for people to write their messages. We did go to a wedding last year though where the bride and groom had one of the ushers take pics of the guests with a polaroid camera and then they stuck this into a posh A3 hardback scrapbook with black pages and we could write our message next to it in silver/gold pen. Looked very cool!

Thanks Holly-Jayne. The Instantforever is the one i mentioned before where i am not to keen on the albums and are too small but is also exactly what i am after!! Argh always the way.

I actually have this one from Oh so Cherished saved in my favourites as a back up. Im having a winter wedding so could work quite well and its slightly bigger than most albums as has 65 pages. But ideally looking for nearer 100 pages. But this is as close as have so far. x

Where are you thinking of printing the pics? On the day or later?

You can get sticky backed printer paper - a wedding we were at recently had this, there was a photobooth and then the pics came outside the booth on sticky photo paper and was stuck into a huge bound book - just a normal guest book.

Yeah absolutely fabby idea. I have a polaroid printer so we could use this...

For any one else that might be interested, here's a link:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polaroid-Digital-Photo-Printer-Technology/dp/B001APNVTQ

The pics print quite small - business card sized really - but a cheaper option than buying a "proper" polaroid camera.

Yeah i wanted to stick the photos in almost as they were taken.

I am going to do it and think will ask an usher or BM to man the post for an hour or so to help take the pics and stick them in a book. x

I am having a photo guest book.

I have bought a second hand Fuji Instax camera off a lady who has very recently got married on one of the other forums and she is also sending me 4 rolls of film for it for £40 in total.

I have been looking at the books on Instant Forever but would need 2 books for my number of guests which would work out at £100 !!!!! I found a US company on Etsy the other day that makes them to fit 100 photos and they are made in co-ordinating colours if you want them to be. They are £70 and shipping is about $15 so works out at half the price of the other ones.

I am thinking about making one from a standard guest book but wasn't sure how to do this as I dont want to just stick the photos on the page.

I'm going to be doing a photo guest book! We're going to have a little table set up with props like fake moustaches and sombreros and our tog is going to get pictures of all our guests (we're going to have our bridesmaids and ushers round people up over the evening).

Because I won't be able to print off the photos on the night, I'm either going to buy a blank scrapbook and have people write messages in that and I'll add the photos later or I'll buy some 6x4 record cards, have people writ the messages on those and I'll match up with the photos after. I can then get one of those 'slip in' photo albums to put them in ?

We've got the Ktwo guest book which has blank pages...., we are going to divide each page in half, and use the ad hoc photographs that our photographer will do as a momento of each guest on the day.... was a bargain too.... only £12.00. Thankfully we've already got a top spec printer thanks to h2b - he's a photo geek pmsl.

We've got the matching wedding planner and photo albums....

    I'm a stickler for things matching ?

Mrs Howard - I have that same wedding planner and was contemplating buying the album to match!!

Niche i am the same i dont want to just stick the photos on the page. Which is why i was after a proper photo holder style. But not keen on the US ones. x

I liked the style of all their products within that range so had to have them.... we've bought 3 of their albums, one for us and one for the parent's (we'll give them as pressies) and each comes with a nice box... they're just a perfect momento of the day lol

My photographer offered me a interesting solution.

He provides guest books with blank pages that are the same paper and size of paper as his handmade coffee table books.

Afterwards, the pages can be taken out of the book and either printed on with more photos, or just bound into the book, keeping everything as one.

    I love this idea!!

Im having a smiley booth at my evening reception so people can have their pics taken and it prints out 2 strips of 4 pictures! The man from the smiley booth sticks one of them in the guestbook and the guests write a message the other strip the guests get to take home!!
