I think that you have had now replies is because its a bit of an open end question. And one persons amazing is another ones rubbish, same also for not overly expensive - could mean anything depending on each persons view.

What you you need is all day coverage, watch out for quotes like 9 or10 hour coverage because sometimes any extra hours may cost more.

You mentioned groups so choose someone who is good with groups otherwise they could take ages. That may rule out photographers who say they are documentary only shooters.

Also when looking, start local and if you cannot find what you are looking for then fan out. Watch out when looking at online directories for your area as anyone from all over the country can advertise in "Hampshire Photographers" section

Which area are you based in? What kind of style photos are you after? What would you like to be included in the package?

It's a bit tricky to give recommendations without knowing the above but this is who we've gone with:

Ceremony until just after first dance (he can do getting ready shots but we didn't want them).

Our package is digital only so no prints or album but we'll get access to all of the high res images and can share/print them as we please.

Our photographer is based in Lancashire but covers the North West and further afield (I think) and we are getting married in Cheshire.

For the above we are paying £745 which is one of the lowest costs we got but Rob was our favourite due to his relaxed photography style. We didn't want lots of staged and formal shots so his style was perfect for us.
