Photographer unresponsive

Does the photographer have a website where you could look for a phone number so you can call? I do understand as I’m the same when people don’t reply even after a few days. I had a few days waiting for our photographer to get back and he did reply to say he had just missed my WhatsApp message in the deluge of other ones he had. Good luck getting hold of them.

As wedding season starts to ramp up they get busier, I know ours has been taking a few days to respond recently. I would try and call him if you have a number or on an email give him the dates your MUA has and explain you really need to get it booked this week and could you maybe have a quick call so if there are further questions you can discuss there and then rather than having to wait for an email response.

Part of the problem is that she does not have a phone number for him.

If you have his address and he is a pro then you should be able to google for his phone number.

You shouldn't need to make allowances for his lack of quick response by thinking he is busy - yes he is probably busy ----busy answering emails such as yours. Its all part of being a wedding photographer and something that he should be doing as a norm.

Is he local ? maybe he is having a problem fitting in the travelling.

One of the reasons that I do not offer pre wedding shoots is because they can be problematic to fit them in especially when you think most weddings are within a 6 month window and couples want them near the date, then factor in if the shooter is not local. you are going to find yourself doing a pre shoot in the week and a wedding at the week end, leaving no time to edit weddings or properly care (answer emails ) for the couples you have booked.

So you could do them in off peak months in the cold and wind and if you are someone who is worried about how you look then those conditions are not going to help.

Thanks for all of your responses. He has since replied and did apologise again for the delay. I did manage to find his number online and was going to call if he didn't respond.


I've since emailed back and actually asked for his number also just in case the one I have isn't right. He is local, it does just seem like he is quite booked up and busy.
I agree with Bill that i shouldn't have to wait too long in between messages but I'm hoping as it gets closer to the wedding in August that this won't happen so much. I wouldn't normally have been so concerned if I wasn't trying to find a date that worked for him, the MUA and myself in such a short space of time. Fingers crossed this isn't a bad sign.

Sounds like everything will be fine. Perhaps they also have a full time job which would account for the slow replies.

Busy wise I am the opposite because if i am not busy then out of peak times I get to have a break with family and so my reply time may go down. When I am busy I am mostly editing weddings after shooting at the weekend so am pretty much attached to the computer.

I would be grateful for any follow up advise on this. Each time I have sent an email it is taking just over a week before any response and that is after a couple of chaser emails as well. I don't expect an immediate response but even if they are busy just a quick email to let me know when they can respond would be good. More recently I have sent a message via text and that has gone unanswered so far. Its stressing me out as I am trying to sort my wedding timeline out and could really do with their assistance.


I'm just not sure how to approach the matter - I've been friendly and polite and want to continue this way, but also want to express how stressed I'm feeling.
I've managed to book in the engagement shoot, I don't know whether to just wait until then and speak in person or try to call ahead of time. I just don't want to cause a rift in the relationship at this stage as the photos are going to be so important on the day.

Sorry just to add the wedding date is about 4 months away, so im not sure if that is actually quite a while away to a photographer? The engagement shoot is about 7 weeks away.
