Pink food

Mrs Magic, 3 October, 2008 at 22:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

I've convinced a friend to have a 'Pink Your Party' for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in her house (I don't have room) by telling her I'll do the food.

It'll be a Friday or Saturday night in late October for about 10 - 15 people. What the hell do I cook? ?

Please help! ?

Hmm, no idea, the only pink foods I can think of are prawns, ham and salmon.

Oh...and pink marshallows and turkish delight.

That combination would make an odd buffet wouldn't it? ?

Just had a look at the site, what a good idea. I might do something similar.

The first thing that came to mind was fairy cakes with thick pink icing and that edible glitter you can get.

    Sounds like a fab idea!

I had some pink pickled onions a while ago!

You could bake some pink fairy cakes or decorate some cakes with pink icing.

    Strawberry ice cream?

Ummmmm not really sure what else...

Isn't there some sort of pasta dish that's made with vodka, cream and passata? That would be pink, surely?

Would food colouring be cheating? Pink rice pudding, rose wine, strawberry mousse?

Thank you thank you thank you!

The only thing I could come up with was cupcakes with pink marshmallows on top. ?

Dinx, you should go for it! I was devastated at not managing to do RFL as I was going to walk in honour of Evelina and her fight. Cooking is something I can do though so this will be in her honour instead!

Oh wow, thank you all so much! I'm going stick all of these ideas in a word doc to refer to.

Probably something buffet wise would be better due to numbers (she lives in a big house but probably not that big ?) but there are so many good ideas. She has more booze in her house than a Calais hypermarket so I think I'll leave drinks up to her but I can pass on any ideas!

Ooh, I'm so glad I posted now! ??

    How fab does that look?!
