plain or coloured nails for the day?

I am getting married next year. and the only thing i am really having difficulty with is my nails.

i know traditionally people have them natural or white tips. but i usually have colour on my nails all time, it is unusual for me not to have colour on. and i normally go for bright colours like reds, greens, blues, purples, etc.

has anyone done full colour nails on their big day?

do you think it will distract from the dress?

was thinking of instead of having white tips to have plum purple (colour bridesmaids are) tips and ivory 3d art design. i think it would go as then i would have something on me thorughout day and night of same colour as bridesmaids so then all tie in together.

welcome all ideas and opinions.

    I really dislike nail art. I think bright colours are fine. But all those little designs and crystals and whatnot look a bit tacky to me. Maybe - maybe - a discreet bit of bling on a ring fingernail isn't too bad.

    However, if it's your normal style to wear full-on nail art, go for it. Some of it will depend on your dress and general style. Bright purple//white tips/designs is going to look way out of place with a vintage lace dress (in my cabbage) but less so with a blockier/patterned 50s swing dress.

    If you normally have colour then have colour. Nothing will distract from your dress, because you is the bride n that.

    I had a pale pink with glitter in it, it was called Princesses Rule or some other smaltzy rubbish.

    If people are used to seeing you with a colour, it'd be a shame to disappoint! ?

    I'm undecided what I want. I'm thinking just a top coat but then I saw these on Pinterest that look quite delicate

    LOVE this shade! I have a similar bottle from Nails Inc.

    I had a deep red colour on my nails. Honestly don't think anyone noticed!

    This is something I'm undecided about too.

    Do you have a pic of your wedding day nails Mrs Bass?

    I'm having deep red flowers and was thinking of going for red nails.

    I love this one too.

    I have navy blue peep toes shoes so it might be nice to have this popping out from them ?

    Actually quite hard to find a pic showing my nails!



    I had peep toe shoes and planned to paint my toes nails the same colour the morning of the wedding. However I had hired a beauty therapist to come to the venue the day before to pamper my b.maids and she painted my nails in the varnish I had bought but she accidently too it with her.

    My toes we actually a dark purple i had to nick off my SIL!

    I plan to get Shellac type things so they'll last over honeymoon too ?

    Ha Ha! luckily I had a floor length dress and at no occasion were my hands next to my feet to a long period of time! ?

    I love the idea of that pink and the Navy! one of my Fave colour combos!
