Planning

Hi everyone new to planning.
I was wondering if anyone could advise where to get a “reasonably” priced wedding cake in Aberdeen/shire.
I have also been looking for somewhere that does silk flowers but not having much joy.
Thanks 😊

I got silk flowers from Ikea & The Range and ordered some from Shien.

So quite a few of my friends got their wedding cakes by ordering a plain white cake from Marks and Spencers and decorating it with some flowers on the stand.

I found that requesting a plain iced fruit cake from a baker got one quote which then doubled as soon as they found out it was for a wedding...

So we bought a plain iced fruit cake from a supermarket and stuck a custom cake topper on it!

    Hi,

If you want to save money on the cake, definitely purchase from supermarket like the ladies above said. I would also recommend, if you have a family member or a friend who likes to bake, give them the task to bake you the cake (of course, pay for all ingredients and do offer to pay something for the labour too). If you do that have your expectations low as they are not a professional and they are kinda doing you a favour. I would say go with a minimal design like a simple vanilla buttercream cake or even a naked cake that you can decorate with some fake flowers.
