Hello

We are getting married Sept 2023. Ceremony will be in a local church then onto a community hall . Guest are currently at 80.The bit where I am stuck to where to start the evening .Once the ceremony finishes and onto the hall. What is the running order of the evening..I have only been to wedding with sit down meals then evening starts at 7.30.It's a hall with a bar. There will be tables and chairs. DJ and photo booth( kids request).buffet food. First dance etc
How does it all fit in order and time scales..its ages off and the thought of it is stressing. I am organised person by nature and it sound strange but I need a running order worh times etc...the church wedding be say 3pm .
Any help or ideas please

If ceremony is at 3 you will be done by 3.45. give yourself an hour for photos and greeting guests so back to the hall for 4.45 to 5ish.

Once back then you can let guests get a drink and have a little breather while you mingle. Depends on if you are having more guests later as to if yo do food now or later. Personally I would then sit down and do speeches around 6 then DJ to start at 6.45 - 7. First dance and cake cutting at 7.20 and then food at 8 and party all night! Hope that helps

I think that is something we all worry about! As your ceremony is later people can have a big lunch before hand so a later time for the buffett will be fine. if you are worried you could tell them before hand that food is served at 8pm, that way if they want to have a snack in their car or bag they can. I always have a protein bar on me at events in case i get peckish!
