Planning a wedding abroad - on a budget!

MikeD, 22 September, 2024 at 10:47 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 1 19
Hi all
New to the group and seeking some advice.
For background, we originally got married in 1998, spent a fortune, had 3 great children, divorced in 2008, realised our expensive mistake that there was no one else for either, got back together in 2014, and now planning to remarry....Smiley winkingSo, as a result, we would love to marry abroad but spend the money on the holiday with the family, and get married along the way in the most cost effective way!The holiday we are considering is the USA, probably for 3 weeks, the majority of the time being on the West Coast, so somewhere down there would be great. The alternative that my other half likes is a beach wedding in Greece, then taking off for the US, but I'm not sure this is possible without the expensive package (for context and in my other half's words - 'would love it if was just the 5 of us on a beach, get married, then have a BBQ after'....trying to manage expectations that it may not be that simple!Cheers for reading the long post, any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Hi! For a simple, cost-effective wedding abroad, a small, legal ceremony in a scenic spot (like a beach or local chapel) can work well, and then you can enjoy your holiday with the family. In the US, look into county or city marriage licenses—they often allow quick, low-cost ceremonies. Greece is gorgeous, too, but private beach weddings usually need a package or some planning. Focus on what matters most to you both Retro Bowl and keep the ceremony simple—you can still have a fun BBQ or celebration afterward!

Santa Monica, Malibu, Laguna Beach – public beaches allow small ceremonies, often with a small permit fee peryourhealth

Hey! If you're after a simple and affordable wedding abroad, consider a small legal ceremony in a beautiful Bitlife Unblocked —like a beach or chapel—then enjoy your vacation with loved ones. In the U.S., many counties offer easy, budget-friendly marriage licenses and quick ceremonies. Greece is stunning too, but beach weddings usually require a package or some coordination. Just focus on what matters most (and maybe some Retro Bowl fun after!)—you can always celebrate with a laid-back BBQ later!

Hi there! For a budget-friendly wedding abroad, a small legal ceremony somewhere scenic—like a quiet beach or a local chapel—can be perfect, followed by a relaxed holiday with family. In the U.S., check local city or county offices for quick, low-cost marriage licenses. Block Blast is a dreamy option too, though beach weddings often need a bit more planning. Keep it simple, enjoy what matters most, and celebrate later with something fun like a BBQ… and maybe a game of Retro Bowl!

Hello! A great way to keep a wedding abroad affordable is to go for a small legal ceremony in a pretty location—think beach or a sweet chapel—and then turn it into a fun vacation with your family. In the U.S., you can often get a marriage license quickly and cheaply from the city or county. Greece is beautiful, but private beach weddings there usually involve planning or booking a package. Keep it simple and football bros style—then throw a chill BBQ to celebrate later!

Hey! If you're going for a low-cost destination wedding, try a small legal ceremony somewhere scenic—like a coastal view or quaint chapel—then enjoy time off with the fam. In the U.S., look into local marriage licenses; they’re often cheap and fast. Greece is an amazing pick too, but beach weddings usually take some organizing. Keep the focus on what really matters to you both—skip the stress, keep it simple, and maybe celebrate after with a fun BBQ and a level devil !

Your idea of tying the wedding into a U.S. trip sounds both memorable and practical. Many places in California, Nevada, and even Oregon offer surprisingly affordable elopement-style packages. And if you keep it just the five of you, it becomes much easier. For a relaxing break during all the planning chaos, unlimited wordle is a fun way to unwind.

If you decide to do everything in the U.S., look into state-by-state marriage license rules — some places are far easier and cheaper than others. Las Vegas, for example, remains one of the most hassle-free options, and you don’t need a pricey package unless you want it. After all the spreadsheets and comparisons, a quick game on baseball bros is a nice stress reliever.

Greece is doable too, but you’re right — the fully legitimate side of paperwork can sometimes add unexpected costs. However, if you work with a local registrar and avoid “wedding packages,” you might still achieve that simple beach ceremony. When I need a moment to refresh between research tasks, I often play block blast online to recharge.

Another option is getting the legal paperwork done at home quietly, then doing a symbolic ceremony on a U.S. beach or Greek island, which gives you full freedom without the legal restrictions. It still feels like a real wedding but dramatically lowers the cost. For a fun break with the kids during planning, basketball bros is a nice family-friendly pick.

Whatever you choose, the most beautiful part is your story — remarrying each other after everything is incredibly special, and the destination is really just the backdrop. Focus on what feels meaningful and simple for your family. And for travel budgeting or even planning a little backyard celebration later, tools like cement bags calculatorcome in handy for DIY ideas too.
