I actually get a lot of questions on venue finish times as i'm generally
the last person to leave, so feel free to give me a shout in private if you're
unsure about a particular venue.....
I don't particularly want my music blasting I'm not even sure people would dance at my wedding it be more of a get together but the thought of having no choice bothers me a bit! I have thought about thinking sod it finish at 12 and all those who want to we'll go to a club but then I think what about those who can't and have come all the way. Thats one thing that makes me think Villa Mercedes might be more suitable if it's open very late? People can go as they please. Being central doesn't bother me although have to think about guests hmmmmmm so glad I have 2 and half years to decide!
p.s. anywhere which has really slack rules about music?? =)
ALSO! seeing that you cant have a church service between 1 and 5 bothers me 2.. If you have a christian blessing outside of a church does this still apply?
i did 3 there last september. that's how a lot of ibiza weddings are
these days to be honest - several of the popular venues have serious
problems with noise and neighbours so they have to be very careful.....
I'm going to be furious if this is the case. I wouldn't have booked it in Ibiza if I wasn't assured by Pura Vida that this wasn't going to be a problem.
I knew they were volume issues, but Pura Vida assured me this wasn't going to be a problem. Now I don't know who I can believe. This forum is proofing to be more stressful than helpful at the moment!!
At the weddings you did, was the music too low to dance to? Did no-one dance?
most people do the official bit in secret back home (UK registry office or whatever) and then just have a blessing here in ibiza so there is no need for it to be official anyway.....
As far as am aware there is no particular rule that says you can't have a church service between 1 and 5, it is more a case of siesta time for the Priest. I say this as I am having my ceremony in a church on the island in 8 weeks time and it starts at 2pm. It depends on how accomodating the priest wants to be.
Jenny, try not to get stressed about it, it's not worth it at this stage. Why don't you email your contact at PV and ask them?
As an aside, what time are you eating? I plan to try and get the music started by 9pm, so I would have thought by 1am most people will have had enough anyway.
Thanks ladies. Yes, I've emailed PV but no response yet. Maybe my perception of volume levels and B's are different...hopefully. It was really important to us that we could have late-night dancing. If the music is too low that no-one will dance, I'm going to be devastated. It was one of the main reasons we booked PV.
We can't even start the day earlier. As it's high season, the priest won't marry us till 5, and the reception can't start at PV till 7. Then we're having an hour of drinks/canapes/photographs, before dinner at 8, so timing wise dancing would start around 10. Trust me, my friends won't be fed up of dancing by 1pm! We all like a late night :-)
I hope I'm just stressing unneccessariy! Nothing I can do about it anyway, everything is all booked now!
We are having our ceremony in the church at San Carlos, 2pm was ok with the priest, we were really surprised and of course relieved - I would be a quivering wreck by 4pm !! And the groom would probably have had too much Dutch courage lol!
I want to get married in a church for religious reasons and while I'd be happy to have my wedding at 12 I'm not sure if the guests would appreciate sitting outside having food between 2 and 5 and I dont particularly want everything to be indoors.
How long does a church ceremony last for? I'm wondering if I could do an early ceremony, then photos, then canapes and drinks indoors while its very hot then maybe dinner outside at around 5 after the speeches so that everyone can then relax and party. with a wedding that early I wouldn't mind stopping at 12 as long as people can stay behind after 12 if they wish? At the end of the day UK weddings finish around 12 and everyone gets booted out! And I will probably want to go clubbing if I've had a few drinks
After looking at pictures of Pura Vida and someones pictures of the Casa Azul villa album I am now really torn! That villa is really cheap for the size of it, is that because it is more inland than some are? Then looking at the pics online of Pura Vida the pink lighting gives it that clubby feel while Cas Mila looks more traditional. I want my wedding to be funky and somehow express my love for Ibiza as I see it. Does anyone know if Pura Vida is more expensive than Cas Mila and whether the food there is good?
I played through sunset for this wedding at Paisse den Bernat and it was amazing. Really cloudy for a bit and then the sun popped out of the bottom - a really special moment!!
Le Grande Bouffe are excellent, probably my favourite for ibiza wedding food in fact. I love the bar Ibiza too. James and Danielle had their own wedding last year and that was fabulous - have a look at the photos and steal some ideas ;-)
I think Eat charge around €100 per head for food and planning combined, but don't quote me on that - one of her 2012 brides should be able to confirm.
If one of them doesn't respond on this thread then I can ask them if you like? I've been booked for a few Eat weddings this year....
You don't have to stay at Atzaro, but the conditions are different if you don't, as they have to think of the other guests. If you're considering Atzaro then it's actually better to go through an independent planner as they can often negotiate better terms for you.
Have you also looked at the Hacienda Na Xamena? That place is stunning :-)
I like the look of Atzaro too. As I'm not that concerned about privacy as long as we can have a sectioned area of seats or something I was wondering if they already have music there? and if it goes on quite late etc then guests can leave when they want? I do really want a beach place though but then I have thought about having someone fom the church bless my wedding in a beach venue or a cliff then move somewhere else for dinner. There are so many options! One good thing is I found out my fiances cousin is friends with the lady who co-ordinates for Cas Mila so I guess it will be easier for me to find out where I can go with decorations etc if I go there because I prefer the location of Cas Mila to Pura Vida other than the pink lighting in the pics! It I know that sounds pretty sad lol
it's actually not that expensive to change the lighting anywhere if you want something specific but obviously best to see what's there for free first ;-)
when we supply lighting for weddings it's often pink or purple, with white fairy lights and nets.....
I like the lighting that you see in many of the Pura Vida pics. It looks very pinky/orangey! There's also 2 fab pictures I've seen on a couple of sites I think one may be a villa and one is a bar, it never says where it is taken but the villa is all lit up in pink and blue and the bar (?) has got like big white puffball looking seats and has pink lighting it looks so lush. The interior of the Pacha restaraunt had a pinky feel to it as well. I just love pinkish lighting it makes me feel happy! I don't want it to look like a brothel or anything though lol! I would just want Cas Mila to look a bit more funkier rather than weddingy if I chose there (but not tacky)
The biggest advice I can give you is to just go out there yourself if that's possible and arrange to see all your favourite venues. It really is too hard to decide without seeing them yourselves. Then you can judge location etc and decide what's most important to you! It's your day and you should do it your way – pink lighting and all!
biza is the perfect venue for weddings, with an amazing
choice of locations for the wedding ceremony and the reception - and of
course with fantastic hotels for a wonderful
honeymoon! And don't worry, getting married in Ibiza really is a lot
easier than you may think.
Have any other Amante brides decided to also have the evening platters? I got sent the menu, but I wasn't sure if you just picked a couple off it, or if you can request something else?
yeah im going to get it. I know I would get hungry later on if I was at a wedding here and there was no evening buffet! And everyone will be drinking all night, so I def want some snacks. We're supposed to be having appetisers earlier on during the 1 hour drinks reception. But thats just before dinner so they can just wait for food and I can use that money for the evening snacks. Also, im hoping to save a bit of money from not having Amante's dessert, so together that might be enough to cover the 15 euro buffet!
Amante brides - I'm going over to Ibiza next week to do a menu tasting and look around again. Let me know if anyone would like me to ask a question on their behalf! I'm also doing my hair trial and meeting with the florist, photographer and vicar. Exciting stuff!
Me too )) I'm new on here - hello everyone! When are you getting married at Amante and what days are you over to meet people/taste nice food? I'm there Thursday to Sunday next week...
I'm getting married in October - time is flying by! Looking forward to seeing Amante again and sorting out my flowers and other things. Good luck with your planning, there's lots of good info on this forum if you need help with anything.
