Im planning to have a Catholic ceremony May 2013, does anyone have any contacts at the churches? We would prefer not to go through a third-party and pay them fees as we like to donate this money to the church instead.
We fly to Ibiza next saturday to visit some churches and reception venues so would be great to have contacted the churches in advance.
Hey Kirsty, Which church are you having it in and what is the priests name? 2pm would be pretty ideal for us ceremony, maybe later but 5pm is too late.
Thanks, Eileen. However, Sam and Johnny provide sevices and charges for them, we do not require the services, we are just looking for the contacts at churches so can arrange meetings for when we go out there & can plan the ceremony ourselves.
I'm on Saturday 13th! I'm going to organise a dinner the night before but I'm not calling it a 'hen party' because I want to take it easy on the booze and have an early night! I think the weather should be fine, we were there mid-Oct last year and it was lovely, not too hot, not too cold. We've organised the dinner at Amante inside anyway, we're just doing the ceremony outside. Can't wait!
Thats so funny, i was just saying to my boyfriend the other day oh I wonder who is on the 13th and maybe we'll see left over flowers on the sunday when we go over for a quick rehearsal lol.
Yeah, I cant even really call mine a hen night! I hate hen nights for a start. I just want to go for dinner somewhere really nice.
Im hoping to have the whole day outside at Amante, because we're having the BBQ. I'll be really disapointed if it rains, but I know there is more chance of it than the other months apart from maybe April.
Hey girls this is my first time on this site,I've been looking at different venues for my wedding next year looked at cas mila and amante, was a little put off with people's comments on here about amante!what is your experience with them,it does look lovely, please any advice ladies, also would you say it's expensive
You are not being stupid. I live in England and getting married in Greece in 7 weeks. I bought my dress in March 2011. It has been sent to Greece now where my mum lives and she is keeping it safe....Every time I pass the bridal shop I see something new that looks gorgeous and want to break my head but then I remember how excited I was when I got my dress and I knew that time that was the one. I miss my dress and looking at others doesnt help. When I visit Greece and put it on I dont care about any other dresses or anything else. There are lots of awesome dresses but there is a reason why we chose the one we did. I am sure it looks great on you. You are just used to the idea of it now and want something new.....just like we all do with old clothes or shoes lol. As long as you love it and you feel comfortable in it there is no reason to change it. On your wedding day you won't even be thinking about it. When you feel like you want a new one go and try on your one and you will stop having second thoughts. And stop looking at wedding dresses in general! Not good! lol

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share price quotes they got from photographers. So far I have gotten a quote from Ana Lui and a couple other's that are not located full time on the island. Ana Lui was more that I expected. Someone on this forum posted a price of 700 - 1500 in 2011. It was alot more than that now. If anyone wouldn't mind sharing please email me at ********@*****.*** Thanks!
Hi - have you been in touch with Gypsy Westwood? I've booked her for our wedding in October, she is very nice and takes beautiful photos - https://gypsywestwood.com/ . I'll email you the PDF she sent me with prices.
I'm paying 1350 EUR, but that was a quote from early 2011, I think she put her prices up last year. I met with a few togs out there, and they were all pretty similar in price tbh.
The glamour package, which is 8 hours I think. It includes getting ready shots, the wedding and up until the first dance or cake cutting. I think we get a small photobook with it too. I thought she'd put the price up by a few hundred euros after we'd booked.
Actually the price for the glam package went up 700 Euros! And sicne another bride sent me her quote sheet, I can also see that ther is also much LESS included in the package now than what was offered to the other bride for 2012. I think it's pretty ridiculous. I'm glad I asked.. I'm defintely searching for other photographers now.
I also really don't like the album that is included because it's just an Apple photo book. The same kind you can make your self and order on your Mac. It has an Apple logo on the front which I DO NOT want on my wedding album. The other, nicer album was 700 euros extra which is I think the highest quote for an album I've seen so far.
Fair enough, makes sense to shop around. We also met with fusion photography, gypsy westwood and annie peel whilst we were there April 2011, there wasn't much price difference at that point, but of course the prices could have changed. Good Luck.
Hello Ladies, I thought I would finally post after months of reading the forum! Ive been planning out Ibiza wedding for the last 2 years and am finally chuffed to start booking things! We originally had out heart set on Amante but after looking at their 2013 prices/packages could not believe the hike in prices and changes in packages. So after going back to the drawring board we are having our wedding at Casa Azul with Eat Ibiza in May 2013! We went out to Ibiza just last month to see the villa and are so happy we chose it its gorgeous, we have a few children with us so the villa is perfect! We also met up with Ana Lui, she is really lovely and her photographs are stunning. If any of you ladies can share advice on flowers and entertainment for the wedding I would be really greatful, and also make up and hair? Ive been in contact with Smack and have seen a few others out there but who to go with?
Hope all the 2012 brides to be have an amazing day, you must be sooo excited!
For Hair and makeup I am going with Smack, I preferred them to the other two people that I met whilst out there.
Flowers- Vickki from Eat is sorting these out for me.
Entertainment- DJ- Beezwax- he is on this forum and I imagine he will be along soon to introduce himself- although I can give you his email address if not. We are also having a spanish guitairist for during the aperitifs, just for an hour or so.
ETA: Just looked as casa azul and it looks lovely!
I can't believe the hike in prices this year. Making me glad I booked mine last year! Although when we looked at Amante they were too expensive for us last year too ha ha. It is a gorgeous venue though.
We just came back from Ibiza yesterday. Work is dragging today! Really should have booked today off – my head is just buzzing with wedmin! We had our food tasting at Pura Vida - it was just incredible! They're also doing our wedding cake (which will be served as dessert), a white chocolate cheesecake, which was delicious and really good value. It comes from their bakery, Samoa I think it's called, in Santa Eulalia. We did have an appointment for a tasting at Cardamom but they hiked their price by 200€ from the quote I received last year, and I wasn't prepared to pay it – especially when I pointed out that they had quoted me a different price they were really rude and condescending. Unless I was just reading the tone of their emails wrong... Hmmm!
I'm using Gypsy Westwood as a photographer, her portfolio is incredible, but again, there's a few good photographers on the island. I don't think you can go far wrong. Flowers I'm using Gary and Holly (such lovely people!) from Floral Dreams - have only positives to say about them so far. Smack are doing my make-up. Had my trial on Monday and was really impressed. It is a little expensive but I feel like it's worth it for your wedding day. When else can you get pampered like that?! Also, it's good to have a professional do your make-up in the heat. My usual make-up would probably just slide off!
Only three and a half months to go for me now. Time is flying!! Was so nice going again to meet all the suppliers over the weekend. I had a few little worries (some of which I've voiced on here in my more bridezilla moments embarrassingly!) but everything got sorted, so I'm feeling so much more relaxed. Eeekk!! x
Hey all, hope you're having a lovely weekend. I've started a good luck thread for Ibizalovin/tam over on wedding planning, thought you all might like to know so you can comment. Ibiza lovin, no peeking early or you'll get spots, thems the rules!!!
Hi all, just wondering if anyone else had bad experiences using Cardamom Events as the wedding planning service? We had all sorts of problems with things not turning out as expected on the day, the food service being very lazy and disorganised and many details that had been discussed and agreed upon were totally forgotten on the day. The food itself was pretty good but the planning was pretty poor and there were so many issues with the way they billed us, we think that they haven't really planned as many weddings as we were led to believe.
Not experience per se but when emailing them about prices, I found them to be unhelpful and quite rude in their tone, so I used another supplier for my wedding cake. Really sorry to hear you had a bad experience!
? Ok so Im a bit cynical and someone whos first post is talking about bad service to me feels a bit weird. Why did you feel compelled to post this Buzzybee? Im cautious as the Ibiza wedding supplier rivalry is fierce - its all so political... hilarious actually!
I haven't used Cardamon for planning but they have been fantastic organising my cake. Speedy response usually the same day if not the day after which is unusual for most Ibiza suppliers Ive found
If anyone would value it I can let you know how they do re service, taste etc as wedding is two weeks away now ?
We're getting married in San Carlos - it's the priest from the church in Ibiza town that's conducting the service, as he is one of the only English speaking Catholic priests on the island. It may have been 1pm, but my wedding day is the feast of Corpus Christi and the church was being used until then. Hope that helps! We thought 5pm would be too late also, it's the done thing in Ibiza, but me & half of my guests are not Spanish lol! x
I can assure you I am not a competitor in the wedding industry in Ibiza or anywhere! Unfortunately it never occurred to me to look for reviews online about Cardamom before we chose them. We just flew out to Ibiza and met 3 wedding planners and picked them off face value. After the tough time we had I thought I'd make a post about them to see if anyone else had similar experiences and to get some discussion going to help others in the future. It was a costly lesson. Cardamom are not budget organisers and we knew that and we had a pretty decent budget to work with, but I think they made a lot of money out of us for doing a pretty mediocre job.
I'd suggest that the reason they are not getting back to people about cakes is that they are busy with actual events which generate a lot more money. For what it is worth, the cake they made for our wedding tasted great, and just like at the sampling, although it did cost nearly 1000 euros. For the actual food, we think Cardamom actually did very well, and they were flexible with the menu, which is one of the main reasons we went for them in the first place. But as planners, there were all sorts of problems. Many things we discussed were simply forgotten on the day. Plus the bill seemed to be constantly swelling with costly add-ons here and there, that we'd never been warned about.
I have no idea if the other planners on the island are any better. We decided against Eat Ibiza because although Viccki seemed very professional and lovely, she didn't seem as flexible about menu changes. We met Kerry from Ibiza Weddings but she never got back to us afterwards so we decided she was not hungry enough for the job.
I'm really interested to see if anyone in this forum has actually used them for planning, as the way they handled the accounting made it look like they hadn't done it before.

Cheers Kirsty, i think we will do ours at 5pm as it will be work best with our timeframe, we will do it in Santa Eulalia or San Carlos, we're just awaiting the confirmation. Thanks for your help
I think they only started event planning last year. I am getting my cake from them because i wanted cheesecake. I went for a tasting over there and it was really good. However I did try to arrange my hen night in their restaurant Cardamom Club. It's closed now so they can concentrate on the event planning, but they do private dinners. I had been getting information over email about it, and then eventually they said I didn't have enough people. Even though I had said since the start how many it was for so I was a bit annoyed. I think most suppliers in the wedding industry over there are trying to take as big a share of it as they can now. I suppose they are all just trying to make a living.
Wow, last year! if only we'd known we'd never have gone with them. When we asked how many weddings they organised, they told us they did 30 weddings a year...
There was definitely an element of greed in how they approached things, which I thought was very narrow minded since reputation surely is important too. If you are just getting a cake from them, you'll be fine.
If anyone is already using them as an organiser, and wants advice on how to not get totally shafted, I can try to help...
Isn't 5pm way too late? ours was 3.30pm and everything was still pretty rushed throughout the night. Unless of course you are skipping some time-consuming things like photo session and speeches.
