No, not having a hen do in Ibiza. We're having a Hag, joint hen and stag! Just going for drinks and probably on to a club a few nights before the wedding, but not going to make any special plans I don't think. Don't want to put any more pressure on myself to organise anything, so we'll just see where the flow takes us!x
One of my brides has booked their weddings using Eat Ibiza. They seem really helpful. Anyone else using these? Can't wait to shoot her wedding next year.
Me and my boyfriend have recently got engaged and decided on Ibiza for our wedding - hopefully in September 2014. Excited to start planning but haven't got a clue where to start! We are heading out there in August so hopefully be able to have a look at a few venues before making our final decision x
I planned mine that far in advance as well, so like me, you may find that some places tell you that's too early to book! Some places I spoke to said you only need to book one year in advance (not great when you're excited and just want to set a date!! Maybe that's just because I am having a church wedding though...)
Great idea to go over in August. Look at as many venues as you can so you can make the best choice for you! If you scroll back through this forum you'll find loads of great advice.
Hi brian sorry im late back with the reply. Thanks very much for finding out the prices for hacienda for me, I am all booked now for july 2013 whoo whoo
Vickki from eat ibiza just made everything run to plan. All the suppliers we used were amazing, smack- corina and Sara were great, they totally put us all at ease. Beezwax was awesome, he totally judged the vibe right and everyone commented on how good the music was. Anna Kathleen did the most perfect ceremony ever, it was awesome. Ana Lui was fabulous, we really can't wait to get the pro pics back. The food was just sublime, everyone said it was some of the best food they've ever eaten. I just wish I'd had an appetite on the day!! The villa, one word- HEAVEN! The setting and vibe of the villa is just amazing. It totally takes your breath away when you walk round and see the view! If you're staying there for the week you feel like royalty!
With regards to decoration I had the lanterns, the crystals and we brought 40 of our own paper tissue pompoms with us.( They were really cheap) There are a lot of trees etc, so they look nice hanging. We also used the pompoms around the gazebo as I think it looks a bit bare without any decs, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money decorating it with flowers as you only really use it for an hour maximum.
We had the minimum of flowers, so none on the tables, as there are so many flowers in the gardens that you really don't need them. Save your money.
We had the candles at night as we wanted it to look romantic in the dark, I would recommend them for sure as they really look pretty once the sun sets. I have to say though that the villa has lighting at night, so if you can't afford them you would be fine. The pool lights up in different colours and there are nice up lighters outside the villa under the terrace. There are also lights in different spots around the gardens and the gazebos and day beds have lights in them too.
Once I get the pro pics from Ana I will let you know and you can have a look.
Food, we really struggled to decide on what to choose, we decided on the sit down meal in the end. I'm really glad that we did, every single person has commented that it was the best food they've ever eaten at a wedding, we chose the fillet steak or sea bass. The starter tapas is gorgeous so in my opinion is worth it on it's own!
Lynda who owns PDB also owns another villa in St Josep, where some of our friends stayed. Maybe email her? The rest of our guests stayed in Talamanca as we had the night before drinks there in Sa Punta, we put minibuses on to get them home after the wedding but they got taxis to the wedding.
i'm DJing through dinner & sunset for a wedding at Paisse d'en Bernat in August and really looking forward to it - the last time I did that, the sunset was incredible :-)
Oh no, I was hoping to get started right away! haha, it is quite far in advance but I like to be organised, and it seems such a daunting task planning a whole wedding I'm not sure how I will manage to get everything done already!
I have spent a few hours reading the entire thread, managed to find a few venues that I hadn't heard of to add to the shortlist.
Just judging off pictures so far I love the look of Amante, but my partner really fancies the Hacienda. He also has the worlds biggest family so our guestlist is spiraling out of control ?
So weird to see these posts as I'm also getting married at PDB on 11th May 2013. I am using Eat and I have booked Ana Lui, Anna Kathleen and Smack so it would appear I've made some good choices. I've been over to Ibiza to see the villa and met with the Lynda and Vickki. I am going back out in September with my friends for a long weekend when I hope to meet with Vickki to do more planning. Perhaps we can share info if you like? I have a lot of friends on the island who've offered help to me as well. I've still got loads of things I want to plan out but Vickki said we won't sit down and do much more until October when she's finished up with this years weddings, so that's fair enough. We went over to the opening of her Elixir Shoreclub when we were there and enjoyed some canapes.. I can honestly say that if the wedding food is as good as those, I know my guests are going to be incredibly happy!
I made a website aswell and sent it on my Save the Dates. I bought a good domain that you'd remember because I really thought guests would look at it for updates alot, but they dont lol. So I recently also made a private facebook event and added all confirmed guests to that and that's been really helpful aswell. They post any questions on the wall, and whenever I post on it they get an email.
Oh and Ibiza Bride you look great! I hope Ana puts up an album on facebook!
We have decided to take the plunge and get married in Ibiza in May 2014. We are going out in October to try and look and venues/meet ppl etc.
When we went out to Ibiza in May this year we looked at the area of Santa Eulalia and loved it but would be open to ideas? I like the look of amante but the prices on the website scare me haha!! Can anyone think of a nice beach side venue that wont cost the earth?
I have contacted candi the wedding planner and the packages she offers seem reasonable - has anyone else used her? Also i have seen a lot of ppl are using eat ibiza? can you only use these ppl if they are doing the catering?
Sorry for the bombarding post but just wondered if anyone could give me an approximate price/any recommendations on the following:
- flowers?
- Hair? - and was the hair done like they would over here?
- Fireeater
- Spanish guitarist
- Transport for guests?
Also we would like a blessing in a church although neither of us are catholic. I understand there is an english speaking church section in ibiza and we will have to get married in UK legally. Has anyone else done this?
I really really want to do this - it would be such a change from what i have been to before and i know my friends and family would love it but feel extremely overwhelmed at the moment - seems harder than planning a wedding here when i thought it would be stress free haha!!
I would also be grateful if anyone would give me a rough idea of total cost - we are inviting 50 guests.
We have decided to get married in Ibiza in May 2014 and i thought it would be easy but im completely overwhelmed!! We love the area of santa eulalia and would like the venue/reception to be around there - love the look of amante but the prices scare me!!
Can anyone think of any other beachside venues in that area or anywhere else? Could anyone give me any idea of prices or recommendations on the following:
- spanish guitarist
- fireeater
- flowers
- cake
- transport for guests
- DJ
Neither of us are catholic but we would like the blessing in a church. I know we would have to legally be married in UK. Has anyone else done this?
I feel a bit apprehensive about all this because im usually a complete bargain hunter and dont want to be ripped off because 'im not in the know'.
Can i also ask about hairdressers? For all those brides who have had their day - were you happy with your hair? Do they do similar styles to what you would be able to have here?!
Sorry to bombard you all but im already in a panic!!
You just have to google as much as possible and it'll make it much easier if you find forums like this! Also some of the suppliers over there are so helpful and will email you info about wedding related stuff if you ask.
I'm pretty sure you can't have a blessing in a church there if you aren't catholic. Cas Mila is popular for weddings, but on the other side of the island. Pura Vida will be a bit cheaper than Amantes new prices I'd think. A new place called Elixir looks really pretty, its in Cala Codolar. I'm getting married at Amante this october, but the prices have went up quite steeply since we booked!
I think a guitarist is around 300 euros, I'm spending about 450 euros all together on flowers. And i'm paying 220 for a bus for 26 people to and from amante on the wedding day. I think the bus and flowers im getting a bit cheaper cos my wedding is so late in the year. I think my wedding cake is 300 euros (cheesecake) for 40 guests.
Oh I know, my concerns with it coming round so fast are....i still need to start dieting, and also we haven't even saved enough money for it all yet lol!
