Hi everyone, got back from Ibiza yesterday, I've now been a married woman for a week!! Our day was amazing, everything went better than planned. Candi and her colleague Anne were brilliant as were all the staff at Cas Mila. I can't wait to get pics back from Ana but have to wait a couple of weeks. I'll post a couple when I get them. Beezwax was also fab!! Everybody that came (61 in total) were in awe of the venue and have all been saying the best wedding they've ever been to. We booked a guitarist and fire dancers through Candi, they were great and very, very reasonable. Smack did hair & makeup, they are such lovely girls and I loved how they made me, my bridesmaids and mums look!
Woke on the day of the wedding to thick cloud but by the afternoon the sun was out, and boy was it hot. I had my final dress fitting the week before the wedding and it fit perfect but on the day of the wedding it was a little big (probably a blessing though because of the heat).
We were there for 11 nights, I have to admit that being travel agent for most of our guests did prove stressful, I finally got chance to relax once most of the guests had come home.
I've attached a few pics taken by friends for you all to see, if anyone has any questions about Cas Mila or want any info just message me.
Absolutely gorgeous photos!! Congratulations!! Can I be nosy and ask how much you paid for the guitarist and firedancers? I have emailed a few but although ive had replies, no one seems to mention a figure?! x
have to say, i always advise strongly against anything like this!! i've seen several weddings go pear shaped when the guests feel like they are in charge of the music. also, people often tend to get their 'wedding' hat on and go down the hi-ho silver lining route ;-)
honestly, it's a very risky strategy, especially if you have a DJ, and Ibiza weddings are generally nothing like English ones anyway.....
i always advise people to put some thought into their friends tastes and also where/when they used to party together to get an idea of styles that work.
if you're going down the iPod route then it can be useful to enlist the help of certain friends, rather than giving everyone a say but i guess it all depends on the luck of the draw - some people are harder to please than others!!
Firstly I would like to say how beautiful you look and congratulations! First time i've ever posted on a site like this. My fiance and I are going to Ibiza on 1st September to view lots of options. Cas Mila is my No.1 I think. Can you give me some advice? I was worried about the fact that it is all happening in the same place ie. ceromony, meal, party all on the terrace...I wanted to break it up somehow. Also can you let me know what your guitarist was like and what he played? Did he play through the ceromony and meal>? I wanted a busker type that sang oasis and Bob Marley etc. Also what kind of music did the DJ do? I have seen the beezwax reviews are really good but was quoted on ibizaprodg by Cas Mila...The fire dancers for me are a must were they good? Also what time did you have your ceromony and did you see a good sunset at the meal? Sorry for all the questions! Can you also let me know what the drink prices were like and what the wedding car was?... thinking of having a video booth and saxaphonist..thats about it super sorry for all my questions!
Don't worry about it all happening at the same place, I can honestly say it when so smoothly! The guests arrived at Cas Mila for 6pm (we booked a coach to transport everybody from Cala Llonga where we had a pre wedding gathering at a friends restaurant) They had roughly 30 mins to take pics, get drinks and be seated. I left Cala Llonga at 5.50pm and was picked up in a Mercedes (which was really nice). I got to Cas Mila for 6.30pm and had a few pics taken arriving etc. The ceremony started at 6.35pm and lasted about 20 minutes. After walking back down the aisle we went downstairs to the beach side part of Cas Mila where they served tapas and Sangria, which is when the guitarist was playing. He was playing Spanish music which was perfect. From what I heard he was excellent but we were having photos taken on the beach so I didn't get to hear a lot of what he played. I think we we downstairs for about an hour (it goes so quickly!) before everybody went up to the main terrace for the meal. We had the BBQ option, the food was lovely and I couldn't believe how much meat there was. Speeches took place after the meal as did cutting the cake, I think our first dance. I think the fire dancers came on just after 10.30pm and they were fab (definitely well worth the money), everybody has raved about them, then it was on to the party. at midnight the music could only be played indoors, the only downside is that it was warm inside. Beezwax played to the crowd, he started with a bit of ratpack for the older guests and then house funk. We originally had a DJ including in the package but wanted Beezwax after reading great reviews so Candi deducted the cost of her DJ from the package. We did have to pay an etc 195 euro to have a PA system and a technician to play the wedding music. We also booked Ana Lui as our photographer (again Candi deducted the cost of her photographer from the package), if you can book Ana, do because she is amazing.
We had an amazing sunset, the venue takes on a different feel as the natural light changes. All my guests have said it was the most amazing wedding they have ever been to, some even saying it felt like they were in a film! If you book Cas Mila you will not be disappointed. If I can help with anything else just let me know. xx
I am due to get married In Pura Vida in a few weeks, can you tell me what time you had your service and how did it go, did the whole night seem rushed ?
How was pura Vida, did it look lovely all done up ? Did the night seemed rushed or was it ok, what time service did you have and what time did it finish ?
Thank you so much! Great detailed informtion I can work on! Did you all go down to the beach for the fire dancers and then come back up? We are thinking of having the BBQ option too - how is it served? Did you have this on the beach or the terrace?
The fire dancers show takes place on one of the terraces. You only go down to the beach for aperitifs, which is when the guitarist plays. Your down there for about an hour which gives the staff enough time to change the layout of the main terrace from ceremony to dining. The BBQ is served to the tables, platters are brought out with meat, salad potatoes etc. They do lots of weddings at Cas Mila (locals even choose to get married their), which is why everything goes so smoothly.
Hi would you be able to give me peter the guitarists email address please? I am after a guitar singer to play for the ceromony and meal who will sing chilled out songs such as greeday, oasis, bob marley etc...
Amy Louise bridal in Natwich, althougn I think it's a brand that is stocked by a lot of shops. I know they had it custom made for me as I wanted it to be the same length as the train on my dress.
Hi could you possibly - or anyone else who has had wedding at Cas Mila give me an idea of your quote per person or whole package. I really want my wedding here and I hope that it is a possibility. How do you book the fire dancers as I would love that also. Thank You
could you email me your quote for how many guests you had or a whole package cost and what it included as I really would love to have my wedding reception at Cas milas. Also do you have an email address or website for the fire dancers?
I'll dig out all my paper work this weekend and send you the details of the package. As for the fire dancers, if you book Cas Mila you can book them through Candi. I think they were 400 Euro but will know for certain when I get all my paperwork. Some of my guests got some video clips of the fire dancers I'll get them and email you them (they were worth the money!).
When are you thinking of having your wedding? Congratulations by the way.
Thanks for the help. If anyone is having or had a wedding at Cas mill, where did yourselves and the guests stay? I want somewhere reasonable to expect my guests to pay ti. The hotel insotel is too expensive for friends and family wanting to share the day with me to pay. Thanks Rachael
I'm planning on having the ceremony on a clifftop overlooking the Es Vedra. But I just got information that might be difficult because it "require official permissions from the Town Hall, with all that Spanish bureaucracy entails". And the police might show up as well...
Does anybody have any experience with this? I reckon somebody has already had a ceremony overlooking Es Vedra?
I've seen loads of photos of people having the ceremony in the cliffs there. I suspect you can, but as its s public area I imagine you might be best to use a wedding planner.
Don't give up just yet! i think you'll find that most ibiza wedding ceremonies are technically illegal as they are often carried out in public places (beaches, beauty spots etc.), without licenses or permissions.
if you really want to get married there then i would recommend speaking to an independent planner like ibizawedding as you will have all sorts of logistical issues to deal with if the ceremony is in a different place to the reception.
