My ceremony was at 6:30pm but wa spicked up by the car at 5:30pm and Smack came to the penthouse I was staying in at 1.30pm. They were doing hair and makeup for 6 of us, I was the last one to be done. They sent me a schedule of what time each person would be styled so we knew in advance. I got married mid July and it was extremely hot and I was wearing a big dress lol, but my makeup held up. I did have to powder my forehead and nose later on and add some more lippy but that was all.
My husband did see me after the trial but her didn't know how many looks we had tried or whether the one he saw was what we were going with.
Ana was our photographer :-), she's brilliant. I had her from 4pm - 10pm, we didn't pay for a meal (I don't think she ate anything whilst working), and whilst we were having our meal she was getting lots of shots f the views, guests etc, plus to be honest the meal probably won't go on for 2 hours and it will most likely include speeches which she will shoot.
Are there any ELIXIR BRIDES that have been told they can only use Elixir's own DJ Steve? I emailed to ask whether I could book somebody else and they have emailed back to say that this is not allowed. This is not made clear from the inspiration document and whilst I trust Steve may bea good DJ, I would have preferred an option! HAS ANYBOY USES DJ STEVE?
I have a booked a lady called Helen Cawte for my photography. She is based in England but does destination packages. She too got married in Ibiza. I love Ana Lui's work but she was already booked on we could not justify paying 2000 euros for her assistant!
I have already booked my photographer, wedding car, wedding transport, Church & saxiophonist so I am well on my way! If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have been over to Ibiza twice on wedding trips and did lots of research beforehand.
I was also wondering what florist Vickki uses, she did not tell me. I have contacted el Ramo de Flores and they have given me a very reasonable quote. The have lots of photos on their facebook page (look for flowers ibiza) and they speak english. Also, it doesn't seem right that it wasn't communicated beforehand that you can only use DJ Steve. Maybe you should ask Vickki for some references? Perhaps she can you give you the contact info of couples that have used him as a DJ so you can see what they though?
Laura, have you decided to use floraldreamsibiza as your florist, or are you going with Vickki's florist? I'm mostly worried about her prices for venue decor of the villa and the other florist gave me a much more reasonable quote for centerpieces, etc. Hopefully its not a problem if I decide to go with someone else.
Mary J, welcome to the forum I contacted Hacienda when I was searching for a venue so I could send you the quote and pics they gave me if you send me an email ********@*****.***. I never visited before we chose our venue, but last september I went there to have a have a spa treatment. There happened to be a wedding going on while I was there so i took a couple peaks while we were at the bar having drinks after the spa treatment. I think the place definitely has its pluses and minuses. It is a beautiful location and at sunset it's absolutely enchanting. It's a pretty big hotel and the wedding was in a separate area (away from other guests). it looks pretty spacious but i couldn't really tell because i couldn't see much of what was going on. The reception drinks were outside and the dinner was set up inside. I'm a fan of the location but their decor skills were not exactly to my liking.
I can think of lots of suggestions for venues. If you want one directly on the water, many girls here have chosen Amante, and Pura Vida. Cala Bassa Beach Club also does wedding although they are quite expensive. Cap des Falco looks like a great location. I've seen many pics of weddings there on photographers blogs and it looks quite beautiful and somewhat rustic. I've also seen a video (from Ana Lui) of a wedding at cala moli and it looked pretty nice, if you want something a little more secluded. If you want something really secluded you can look into PK2.
I have (almost) booked my wedding at Cas Mila for September 2014. I would love to hear from people who have been married or are planning on getting married there.
If anyone would like to share their photos too that would be great! I was wondering do you take your own place cards/table plans with you? I have seen some photos of 'love' and 'mr & mrs' signs, have people taken them with them or are they provided?
Did anyone use the photographer provided with the package and what were they like?
I am am getting married at ELIXIR in june this year (feels really close now!)
We have decided to use Steve for the dj as we trust Vickki's expertise and experience, I was so impressed with the inspiration document with the wish list to match, it has made the planning process so simple and organised!
I'm having SMACK for hair and make up with a trial for me then on the day for myself, 2 bridesmaids and my mom and a spray tan for me for €675 which was way more than I expected but their portfolio was v impressive and Sara has been so good to deal with and the MAC spray foundation sounds amazing!
Again I'm using Vickki's florist but really kept it simple with bouquets, buttonholes and petals for tables.
My biggest shock was the price for decor, found it v expensive but as Elixir is sooo pretty and the setting so nice I'm not going to mad with it. Making a few little bits at home and taking them over and got some lovely stationary etc to personalise our day!
Decided not to have a wedding car as we are staying at a villa literally down the road and no one would see the car arrive anyway!
Currently trying to convince my fiancé that we NEED the dessert buffet!!!
Any other Elixir brides on here or any previous elixir brides with pics? As its so new there's not too many real wedding pics floating around! Love the venue so much - we viewed Amante, Can Gall, pura vida and Can Taliaias but as soon as we walked into Elixir and met Vickki we were sold, she's very very good at what she does and the eat Ibiza website testimonials speak for themselves!
Hi girls!! I'm also new to the forum and also getting married at Cas Mila, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the food was, I'm having the luxury package (which basically means the 3 course instead of the BBQ) and if anyone has any photos of the food as this is the one aspect of our big day that I haven't been able to source any photos of from any of the sites or previous wedding stories. We're not going to be able to get over before our wedding so if anyone has additional photos, tips or advice from their big day at Cas Mila I'd also love to hear from you.
Candi has been great up to now but it's always good to hear brides' tales of their special day, what you loved, how the schedule went and how the package items like DJ and photographer were.
We got married as Cas Mila in October last year and had an amazing day.
The little bits and bobs are what Candi has already so you dont need to worry about bringing much with you, You will however need to being you own name cards/holders & table plan. (we just had 1 long table so didnt need a table plan)
The photographer Anne was great and i love all our photos, have a look on the real wedding section on here - ours was posted a while ago and if you want to see any more just send me your email address.
We got married at cas mila in October, I cant comment on the 3 course menu but the BBQ was delicious as is the normal (non wedding) menu at the restaurant so i'm sure it will be lovely.
I can highly recomend Anne Walker and DJ G, we got married at 6pm which was perfect as it was later in the season we had our photos at sunset.
Hi Bubbly! I am so so sorry I did not reply to this sooner. You may have already spoken to Cndi by now, but I asked my finace about the auto reply, and he said she replied anyway. Did you manage to get hold of her? Did you book for May Congratulations! x x
I have started my research for make-up and have come across Smack. My problem is that I ideally do not want to spend €300 plus on hair and make-up, so I am going to ask a friend to help me with my hair, with several trials beforehand.
Can anyone recommend any make-up artists used by them and how much they charged? I would like waterproof makeup to last me throughout the day.
I will continue with my research also
If any other beautiful brides on here got married at Cas Mila and can email me any photo's, please let me know and I will provide my email address
We are going over in June for 2 weeks for a holiday (booked before we booked our wedding for May 2014), so we will be going to see the venue & meet Candi.
Thanks Rachel, it's really nice of you helping other brides to be with your advice
Did you get the standard package or the luxury one? We're getting the standard one & I was going to add a few extras onto it! Did you have any upgrades?
I saw some of your photos in the real weddings section, they're gorgeous, one of the reasons why we chose to get married at Cas Mila! If you would be able to send me some more that would be fab! My email address is ***********@*******.**.**
Just gate crashing this thread as I'm actually getting married in Rhodes not Ibiza but this is the busiest thread for the weddings abroad!! ?
The questions for new and old brides abroad really. My service is at 5 o'clock and I was just wondering what the order of your day is? When are you having first dance, speeches, food etc? Trying to get my head round the order of the day when its a later start if you know what I mean. ?
i am looking to poss book Cas Mila also and would love to see any pics you could send through if you wouldn't mind? I have fallen in love with what I have seen of the venue so far! My email is *******@*******.**.** (anyone else with Cas Mila pics or info please feel free to send it!)
did you use the florist and dj included in the package? Did you take any of the optional entertainment extras? I fancy the fire dancers!
what was your schedule for the day? Times wise?
It's all quite overwhelming when you first start organising, so much to think about!
look forward to hearing from other Ibiza brides to be, this is a great forum!
I used them in october for my wedding. I loved the hair and makeup they done! The email is ***************@*******.***. They also answer private messages on their facebook page x
There are a few photos is the real wedding section https://www.hitched.co.uk/real-weddings/rachel-gareth_226/ but if you would like to see some more please send me your email address.
Yes Anne is the photographer and we are soo soo pleased with our pics. The DJ is DJ G and again we were really pleased with him, we sent him quite a few song requests before the day and he managed to play most of them for us during the night. I luckily have a close friend who is my hairdresser and another who is a make up artist so they did it for me & my bridesmaids as a wedding present.
We booked there standard package, we upgraded the car to the rolls royce, booked the sax player, choose the love in lights sign, and i didnt have the flowers in the package i brought my own silk flowers with me, everything else was in the package i think.
Im really pleased thats one of the reasons you booked - im sure you wont be disappoiunted - candi and the rest of the team are amazing!
i'll get some pics across later, See the above couple of posts ref the items we had in the package and the extras we added on.
As our wedding was at the ecd of the season we brought the standard time forward slightly.
The car pickled me upfrom our villa in cala vadella at 5.30 for a 6pm ceremony.
Our guests then had sagnria & appetisers while we had our photos
We sat down for dinner at 8ish and did the speaches first.
I'm not really sure what time the meal ended(its a bit of a whirwind on the day) but we then cut our cake and went for our first dance. It all finished a 2am.
Another Elixir bride here! We had originally planned for a villa wedding but after visiting Elixir it just stole our hearts! It is simply stunning! I am using Smack also and met up with them in October both lovely ladies and had plenty of time to offer suggestions and advice. We have gone ahead and are using Vickki's florist also, I have full confidence that they will be gorgeous! We haven't gone for DJ Steve but booked Laura on sax and Ben, I booked them myself months ago but they are available on the inspiration document. I've been following this post for what seems forever and the advice an ideas have been a massive help! We have Ana Lui as our photographer and couldn't imagine having our photos done by anyone else, her pictures are amazing! Ibiza was an obvious choice for us after meeting there nearly 5 years ago, the island has a massive place in our hearts
May 4th cannot come quick enough! Good luck and happy planning to all Ibiza brides!
Nice to see another Elixir bride on here!! You're wedding is before mine (I'm 2nd June) so will be interesting to hear how it goes! I have so much faith an confidence in Vickki/elixir/eat we just love the venue!
Also, to all Ibiza brides...I am having my hen do over there and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for somewhere nice to go in the day/early evening before we head out to make it a bit more interesting than just a night out! Any ideas?!
We are June 28th at El Chiringuito - we are using Ana for our photos, Smack for my make up and Dj Ben and Sax Laura for our evening...
I literally can not wait now - have you all got your dresses - did you go traditional or more Ibiza suited... I have ended up going quite traditional - but love it!
Heather - I am going to Atzaro for my Ibizan hen... we are going to go for a morning of massage and then a nice cocktail lunch... Aura is also a really nice venue for lunch and cocktails in the afternoon....
Has anyone got their bridesmaid dresses yet - I want to go Royal Blue or Teal but struggling to find any that i love at the moment....
Any girls getting married in May/June of 2013 and needs a photographer I will be over there for 7 weeks whilst tying the knot myself to my photographer fiance...
He is looking to do some Ibiza weddings at a very reduced rate - contact him if you want a quote... we will be using Ana Lui as sadly he can not take his own photos!
Hello ladies,
This blog is so brilliantly helpful and reassuring.
I am also getting married at Elixir in August 2013. HOT HOT HOT!
I cannot decide on the BBQ v Sit down menu option.
The flowers / colour scheme is also proving a problem as I am the most indecisive person ever. I am really looking forward to making some decisions soon though.
Em x
I'm after a spa day too, have spoke to hacienda but its a good hours drive error where we are staying. Have emailed atzaro but no response, how did you book yours?
Hi, we paid 400 euro extra but we didn't book Ana's top package as we didn't need her for that long. Although from reading forums it seems Ana's prices have increased quite a bit. Don't get me wrong she is amazing at her job but I know I wouldn't be able to afford her new fee's.
