Hello, Im getting married at elixir next summer, the place is beautiful..I went to see Cap des Falco, but the owner was just rude and strange, so I completely ruled it out, every though its got a nice setting, I just couldn't risk anything going wrong on my big day. There was a couple who I contacted called Gordon and Claire who got married at cap de Falco last summer, the told me that they had a disaster because the owner kicked everyone out early and turned off the lights...I just don't know what I would do if that was to happen to us.
yes thats the impression i got from lots of posts, reviews and private messages regarding Cap des Falco.
Anyhow i have just finished reading this whole thread (2 days in between work pheeew) good work peeps what an excellent thread. I'm not tying the knot till 2015 (an age away i know) so have plenty of time. I have got lots of info and detail to start so thanks again.
Beezwax, do you play your own set or incorporate what the couple want?
Jenny could i possibly have a peek at your wedding pics
i've been DJing to people in their 30's & 40's for half my life, so with weddings, my skill is in getting the couple's requests and incorporating them into a set that will get everyone on the dancefloor and keep them there as much as possible; which is not always the easiest of jobs!
i had some great weddings last year and a few of the brides have been nice enough to recommend me in this thread :-)
I played there when it was Amarant but I've just been asked to cancel all my bookings there for this year and I'm not allowed to play there anymore. I don't know why yet :-(
The couples booked & confirmed me directly and then Elixir told me I had to cancel the bookings.
You're not allowed to book your own DJ there - it must be one of their choices.
I can play anywhere else though and I've worked at most venues on the
island so let me know if you'd like me to put you in touch with brides
from weddings at any of the other venues.
Hi i am getting married on the 10th at elixir and would be interested I sharing deco costs- do you have yours all organised. And have pictures etc thanks kim
Hi first post on here - I am another elixir bride- 10th sep this year! Struggling to decide what dc's to have - colour scheme, flowers, my dress....everything basically except the man!! I know I have that right! Lol xx
I'm getting married at the end of this year, so I will let you know how it goes, I actually just asked Vickki if we could choose a DJ for ourselves and she said we could have anyone except 1 or 2 djs that she had negative experiences with, which I think is fair enough! She gave me recommendations for 3 DJs..all seem great but I think I'm going with steve because he has the most experience doing weddings, he was flexible too and is taking our playlist.
I really like Elixir but would love to have Beezwax due to his profile and recommendations on here, hmmmmmmm.
Anyone Married on here at El Chiringuito???? I think im falling in love with it. Ive emailed Lucy and shes replied quickly bless her but would love to see some pics of weddings.
We are getting married at El Chiringuito on June 28th! - sooooo excited for it! - have you gone on their page on facebook - there are some pics of weddings on there?
We visited about 5 venues in Ibiza in October - we have been to Ibiza loads of times - and kind of knew we were looking for somethign typically Ibizan, rustic and pretty and we felt El Chiringuto fitted that spec perfectly - we felt the other venues just felt like hotels / restaurants and could have been anywhere in the world.... but each to their own preferences!
Lucy has been amazing with help so far - i 100% recommend her!!
Were still in the early planning stages (although been together 10 yrs lol) looking at sept 2015, an age away i know!!
Miss G would you mind if I asked loads of stuff lol, wondering how many guests and cost of ven and food. I have the basic info from lucy but looking for an all over cost once cake, decor, DJ etc etc is included.
You can email me details if thats ok ************.****@*****.**.**
Hows your planning going, dress?? bet you're excited time will fly by now xx
I just wanted to post to say that beezwax was great at our wedding last year. I find it totally bizarre that elixir won't allow b to dj at weddings there as he was amazing at ours. Plus Vickki did the catering for ours so she must know he was well received by everyone!
where did you get married? how long beforehand did you start planning and did the time fly by? We're looking at Sept 2015 and it seems like such a long time away x
Hello ladies, first post on here! I am also an Ibiza bride hopefully July 2014 and I am so glad I came across this little gem of information. I actually had no idea where to start until I came on here. It is so exciting reading about everybody's plans! Is it best to email the venues directly or get in touch with wedding planners? Is it more expensive to go through a wedding planner? We have family in Ibiza so just trying to work out if it would be worth it?
Congratulations!! I would recommend coming out here and looking at venues for yourself, Considering you have family here then they can also help with recommendations. If you have the finances then a wedding planner is a great help. But do bear in mind that a good venue will be capable of organizing most of the things for you, or at least point you in the right direction with good reliable suppliers. If you are having a church wedding then you need to organize that first. If it is a blessing ceremony, then you have more time. Choose your venue first and everything else will fit into place. Good luck, and enjoy!!!
Eileen is spot on really. I suggest taking the time to read through the whole of this thread, i did and it gives you a good starting block. I contacted venues online and have had a good response. Also check out WhiteWeddingsibiza Ibizaweddingshop and Eat-Ibiza, lots of info on those sites.
Can any other Cas Mila past brides or brides to be tell me where they stayed or are planning on staying?
we have a mix of family and friends. Friends we expect will stay in San Antonio but we are wondering where to suggest family to stay. Wondering if there would be any family friendly hotels far round into San Antonio bay (away from the rowdiness)?
Other options would be completely different resort -any suggestions of other nice areas?
Now that I have booked for June 2014 I suddenly need to start planning!
any suggestions for where to start looking for wedding dresses that are suitable for weddings abroad. I'm thinking light, and perhaps a bit vintage in style. Any suggestions for good sites for reasonably priced bridesmaids dresses would be great too. I may have quite a few bridesmaids and so need to try and keep the cost down where possible!
i am planning on having a wedding at cas mila in may 2014. We are viewing the venue this May for the first time before we put down the money (so hopefully it will still be available)
do you guys think it will be sunbathing weather end of may? And also does the sun set over cas mila at that time if year?
I can't seem to find many wedding pictures online so would be very much appreciated if anyone can send me some :-)
Oh also does anyone know what renovations are going on there?
I have lived out in ibiza ( 4 years now) and i got married in October 2012 at Cap Des Falco (my favorite place on the island!) followed by my reception in a private villa i hired ( i hired it for 10 days so had time to decorate, prepare and relax after). Also at midnight we closed the doors and carried on partying inside the villa until early morning!
I organised the whole thing myself ( villa, cap DES falco, catering, make-up/hair (smack), flowers, my transport, my guests transport, bar service at my villa, gorgeous cup cake tower (ibizacakes), alterations of my dress, all my decorations, singer and saxophonist etc...) as i live here. It took me months and months in research and it went perfect in every way, so If you want any help or to see my photos/video ( I used Ana Lui, highly recommended!!!) please contact me....
My wedding is only slightly over 4 months away now! Can't believe it. I'm still struggling with some last items. As we have gone over budget I'm really trying to save some last few pennies now.
I'm been in contact with Smack about hair. I've decided my friend will do my make-up since she is a fantastic make-up artist. They charge 200 eur for hair, which is already way more than i expected but they recent told me they charge IVA of 21% on top of that! Has this been the same for everyone else? That's quite a significant price difference. Does anyone know if Bellisima charge the same? Are there any other options for hair???
I've been a couple times at the end of may and it definitely can be warm enough for sunbathing! I don't know if the sunset will be over cas mila, but i found this sunset map at some point.. http://www.ibizaholidays.com/sunsets.asp which may help. No idea how accurate it is though.
Bellissima done my hair and make up in october. I loved my hair and my bridesmaids. I went into the salon because it was across the road and 50% cheaper, so i paid 50 euros that included tax and I think the price to come to your hotel is 100 euros.
Louisa Mason Cooper did my hair and I loved it - she also did my mum's and bridesmaid's. She will come to your hotel and is very nice - I did a trial but I don't think you necessarily need one if you want to save some money. I think she charged me 100 euros, and 50 each for my mum and bridesmaid. Here's her website
A small explanation, Spain charges 21% IVA (vat) unlike the UK this charge is generally put on separately at the end of the invoice, it can be a bit of a shock to many couples. Not many suppliers actually add it in to the price in the beginning, so you must ASK. It does make a large difference to your 'end costs'.
Hairdressers here have just had to take a very large increase in their tax bills, (risen over 10%) so it is very difficult for them to make a living. Remember Spain is in a large recession just like anywhere else, the government is trying its hardest to tax luxury items!!!
We have started contacting venues but its getting the time to look through all of them.... Just talked 2 of my bridesmaids into coming out with me this summer to check some out - so excited!!
How many guests are people having/had? I'm worried that ours is getting out of hand as I think our guest list is going to be towards the 100 mark as my fiance's family is 45 strong and the response from friends wanting to come over is unbelievable... eeeeek! Stressed and the actual planning hasn't even started
Has anybody used Candi's fun video booth?? Thought this may be a fun replacement to a message book but not sure exactly how it works and what the props are like!
Thanks for the suggestions on hair. I ended up booking Bellisima. They no longer offered the come to the salon option for 50 eur but at least i am saving on the VAT!!
Btw I'm pretty sure i emailed Louisa Mason Cooper twice, and she never got back to me.
Also someone asked about transport. i ended up booking Ibizatours & Islandbus. Good prices and very responsive. hopefully it works out. If anyone else used them please let me know about it. Thanks!
