Oh no please don't say that :-( i would be absolutely gutted if it rained :-(
my wedding is 29th jun at casa mila, mega excited now hehe. how are you transporting your dress? mines silk sort of material worried it will get creased.xx
honestly, don't worry - the rainy weddings are always the best!!
i've only had one in recent years and it was at el chringuito last september. loads of fun - here's what the bride sent me afterwards:-
"Hey Brian
We just needed to message you to say a huge
THANK YOU,
Friday was absolutely perfect, and the thunder, lightning and rain
just seemed
to add to the day!
Everybody has been ever so complimentary; most
saying it’s
the best wedding they’ve ever been too! The music and vibe you set
played a
massive part of the day.
Thanks again, it was the best day of our lives,
one we will
never ever forget.
May I ask what date in September this was? I get married on the 6th!! This would be my worse nightmare but now it has been said, you worry has been cast in my mind ☹️
Me and my fiance are taking a long break so will be in Ibiza for 5 weeks in total - we are doing a road trip through France and Spain and getting the ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza with our dog as well - so my wedding dress will lie in its dress bag flat in our car!
Getting so excited now - everything is all coming together!
I just want to start by saying a massive thanks to everyone who has been posting their experiences and photos on this forum...I have spent a good 5 or 6 days (solid!) going through the posts and have got so much information, tips and advice from all of you.
I am getting married next summer (no date set yet) and am completely taken by the gorgeous beach venues that Ibiza has...I'm just not the traditional English rose type! I am planning to go out there for a recce weekend of the venues in early May and hopefully meet Candi for Cas Mila, Alex at Pura Vida and the guys at Eat-Ibiza.
If anyone's been out for recces before, please can you give me any advice of what I should be looking for or questions I should be asking. Once I'm back I will update you on my findings!!
I am also getting married may 14 at cas mila and struggling to find and decide on suitable location and property/hotel to stay in and also recommend to friends/family.
Is anyone having there honeymoon after the wedding in ibiza any recommendations for spas or hotels?
ive been in touch with Candi about some of her venues....I love the look of Casa mila but could you tell me if its possible to go on to the beach there? Or is it above the rocks?
Hi just need so information or what's best. Is there any cheap coach company's to take my guest home from cas milla all my guests staying in San antoinio bay. I guess it would be a nightmare getting 50 people home in taxis etc , so was looking to help by booking a coach . Many thanks
I am getting married at Cas mila in july this year.
All the guests are staying at Sirenis Seaview in San an bay/port des torrent. Ive been before and its really nice right next to small beach where you can get ferry taxis to san an town or further afield.
Im having my honeymoon for 4 nights (don't want to leave my little girl too long!) at insotel fenicia prestige 5 * hotel in santa elulia. Cant wait so excited x
First post on here - am very excited as my partner and i fly out to look at wedding venues on 11th april (also my birthday).
Its reassuring that i have been looking at similar venues, we are down to check out can talias (MY FAV), paissa den bernat, can coves villa, exixir shore(ALSO GROWING ON ME) (including meeting with vickki), can gall. Im still waiting to hear back from hotel cana xica and hostal salinas.
So excitied. i will try and take lots of pics of the venues (if im allowed) and post on here.
you're
actually very lucky in that respect, because your family can help you a
great deal with your research. as eileen said, it's best to focus on
the venues for now so maybe you can get your family to casually visit a
few of the venues on your behalf (without giving names or a specific
date). then once you have a shortlist of venues, you can consider if you
would like to use a planner and which planners would be good, depending
on your venues. if you are also interested in villa weddings then email
the planners to get an idea of their services and costs, but don't
commit to a specific villa or date before you have decided which planner
to go for. after this you can arrange your formal meetings and make a
trip to ibiza yourself.....
bear in mind that in some cases you
may need to approach the venue through your planner, otherwise the venue
will consider you to be a direct client and may then force you to use
their in-house planning & suppliers.
a little bit complicated, but that's ibiza for you!!!
Hacienda
are Amante are two I can think of that are best direct, Atzaro &
Cap des Falco are two that are better through a planner.
Hey yes they both got back to me this week, going to view Hostal Salinas on Thursday 11th - is it an actual hostal - it doesnt look like one. Cana xica have said they are not taking bookings for 2014 as they are getting some work done?? presume it must be major otherwise they would get it done over the winter months.
It is a 'hostal' but that has a different meaning in Spain - it's not a hostel in the English sense of the word, just a different classification of Hotel. It's basically a small boutique hotel - will all make sense once you see it :-)
Hi gemma, i am currently in ibiza sorting out out wedding for sept 2014. We came venue hunting in october and have decided on elxir, so going there tomo to sort the deposit!
The guitarrist they recommend is antonio at ibizaflamencoevents.com but the website doesnt seem to be working at present. We are meeting with a classical guitarst that i have found online myself at the wkend so will let u know if hes any good!
Paco fernandez is amazing but i think mega bucks. He plays most fridays a villa mercedes restaurant in san antonio http://www.villamercedesibiza.com/
If you put his name in you tube theres some clips.
Thanks Amy Elixir has really grown on me and when i have showed friends they dont understand why i am looking anywhere else.
Do you know if Paco is playing next friday (12th) as im in ibiza from 11th so wouldnt mind going to have a listen. Yes please do let me know about the one you have found i have had a brief look myself but didnt find that many to be honest.
Where else did you go and view if you dont mind me asking?
We've got a few private villas and cas mila. Didnt plan on viewing cas mila but everyone is rating it on here thought it may be worth a visit. Do you think Paco will be playing on 12th April? x
We love elixir - its even improved loads since we last saw it in october- alex and vickki are improving it all the while! Obviously its personal choice, i would have been happy to get married in sevaral of the venues we saw to be honest, most were amazing! We avoided the villa options, but saw cas mila, amante, la hacienda na xamena, pk2, pura vida, posta de sol. Il try send u an email witha bit more info, im not very good at hitched messaging!
Paco is definitely playing on friday 12th at villa mercedes! X
Has anyone been to a wedding with Lovely Laura saxo (hed Kandi) playing? Shes on the list Candi sent us, and im wondering about booking her rather than a guitarist?
Hello girls ! I'm officially joining the Ibiza-brides-to-be community
Thanks a lot to you all for the very good info on the forum, it's super helpful !
I just had a quick question on the formalities : I read that if you got a catholic ceremony in Ibiza, you did not have to get married in city hall before as the religious ceremony would be "converted" afterwards into an international civil marriage certificate.. did any of you do it? so does it mean you don't have to do any civil wedding in the UK? (or in France, we are French but both live here in the UK)
that's what i have been told too. most people use a planner to arrange things for them, but some people arrange it through their local catholic church (in the UK in your case??).
it's not straightforward at all, so unless you are very friendly with your local priest already; i would definitely advise going through an independent Ibiza-based wedding planner (i.e. not an in-house planner or co-ordinator or someone that doesn't live here).
i can look back and try and find some of my previous couples for you to speak with, but i'm pretty sure all of the catholic ceremonies were arranged by a planner anyway. let me know if you want me to look into it for you.
good luck with the church and the rest of the wedding :-)
