My ceremony / reception is all in tehone venue so no transportation required which is good!
Villa Mercedes in San Antonio is really nice - not to pricey - overlooks the harbour is a pretty converted villa and the food is really good - they are child friendly as well.
Mambos is quite nice for drinks on the promenade at sunset strip but not sure what time they open but would be a good pre wedding meeting place....
Lucy the in-house planner is fantastic too - she also looks after El Chringuito in Cala Gracioneta so she should definitely be on your list of people to meet :-)
I can officially join the forum too! - Elixir booked in Ibiza for June next year and the photographer and video! - Went for Nick Griffiths Photography as he was based in the UK so we have been able to meet with him already before we actually go out there again to meet other people! - Also couldnt afford some of the other prices that were on offer....
Somethings in Ibiza seem very pricey.... looking at hair and make up who do you recommend - i dont want to spend too much though - and also looking at cars as well.. has anyone got any suggestions?
We're trying to choose a photographer as well - I know it has already been discussed quite a lot here, but it's a bit hard to decide.. has anyone recently had GypsyWestwood or Ana Lui as photographers? Or any other good recommendation?
We had Marianne Ford when we got married in October last year and she was AMAZING - more than just a photographer - she became a friend and councillor on the day too! Part one and two of our wedding photos at Amante can be found on her site here - http://www.mariannefordphotography.com/blog/category/ibiza-wedding/ - along with other ibiza Weddings. She's UK based which was great as we picked up our wedding albums (which were also amazing) up off her in person afterwards. And she is now going to do the photography of our baby due in July! x
We have just booked Nick Griffiths - we are not going out to Ibiza until later this year but really wanted to meet the photographer in person so it was great we could meet him in th UK a couple of weeks ago... he showed us some of his albums which were amazing - just the kind of thing we want! - and he wasnt as expensive! - double plus!
When is yoru wedding! - wishing it to be next year already!! Going to start on my dress shopping soon...
Ibiza brides - did you opt for a practical dress or did you just look for your dream dress - I am worried what i want I may be too hot in?!
Elixir is a great venue, everyone raves about Vickki's catering! The venue is spotless and looks stunning, I know some DJ's have said in the past because of them playing inside if you want to dance out side the acoustics aren't great but as long as there's music I'm sure everyone will have a ball!! Being on a hillside it can get breezy if there's a wind. Obviously it is all self contained so that's nice, I like the different areas, inside, under the canopy and the outside area, means that people can do different things if not everyone wants to boogie! I'd try and go and look before booking if you can?
We need to decide today as another couple want the date and its the only suitable one available in June Next year.
We fly out to Ibiza in 2 weeks but Vickki said she cant hold it any longer. I also have a few other venues to view but this is by far my fave on paper and the best possible date.... what to do, what to do!!
I have seen elixir. Although I LOVED the view, I can't say I really like the decor and the style of the place. It doesn't have an spanish feel to it what-so ever. What other venues are you considering?
I also agree with Copa, we had Elixir and El Chiringuito as our final 2 but went for El Chiringuito in the end for this very reason! As lovely as Elixir is you could be anywhere in the world! Where as other venues are on the beach and have the special charm of Ibiza about them.
What a dilema! Obviously its personal choice... but we viewed 10 possible wedding venues last October & have chosen Elixir! Went out in April & saw it again & it was better than we remembered! We like the modern decor & fab views plus access to the beach for photos without the venue being directly on the beach. It is quite spacious, that was our only worry as we are unsure on numbers yet, but can always rope off the under canopy part after dinner to prevent party from getting too spread out. I have photos I could email but they are on my computer at home.
Wedding venues/suppliers are very competitive over in Ibiza. I personally didn't book before going over, even though a couple of the venues did imply it might get booked up before I got there! I figured if any I wanted did get booked up I'd find something equally as nice. It also makes sense for them to tell us over email how busy and in demand they are! x
How tricky for you! I am getting married at Elixir in 18 days and booked it as soon as we viewed it last may! You will get biased opinions on here as obviously everyone has chose their favourite venue. It's more than okay for a wedding venue, that's what it was designed for, is very child friendly if that applies to your guests, the exclusivity is a massive bonus, you won't have to share any area of the venue with anyone. The food is stunning, the reviews for both Eat Ibiza and Elixir food are v impressive and I have found the planning process with Vickki and her assistant Leah so organised and enjoyable!
if you look at gypsy west woods blog, Ana lui Vimeo videos and the elixir Facebook you'll see loads of pics. I could go on and on about how perfect Elixir is for me but everyone's wedding is different, to me there was something v special about it as soon as we walked through the gorgeous big front door!
Hope you make a decision your happy with and have a lovely wedding!

Not had any answers yet :-( ive also tried contacting my hotel hoping they can help. ive only 6 weeks to go, and my dress is satin, so will most definately need steaming.
i'm not sure what you mean - it's very unusual to share a wedding venue in ibiza. the only one i can think of is cas mila and that's about half the price of elixir.
some places charge an exclusivity fee, but generally only for smaller groups when the spend on food & drink is lower.....
Its been a while since my last post on here but my wedding day has been and gone, nearly two weeks ago now
I was originally planning on a villa wedding with Eat Ibiza, but fell in love with Elixir and once we had been out to see it we knew it was the place for us!
Elixir has undergone a lot of updating over the winter and I couldn't believe how luxurious they have made it! The whole venue is so stylish and the views are to die for! Our family and friends were so taken back by how beautiful it was! As for our day, the food was amazing the best steak we have ever had and plenty of it! The service was outstanding, they really do have an amazing team at Eat/Elixir they couldn't do enough for us! They made our day so special and all our family and friends are still talking about it (my brother and sister in law may be heading back out there to get wed themselves!). I really can't speak highly enough of them!
I also used the following:
Ana Lui - her pictures speak for themselves and Ana is such a beautiful person, both me and my husband love her! She was amazing with the kids and such a delight to be around, my photos are ready already not even two weeks have passed yet!
Smack Ibiza - Corina and Sara are a talented pair of ladies, they listened to what I wanted, made me feel so relaxed and made me feel a million dollars! They also did my bridesmaid and mum and did a fantastic job!
Kids in Ibiza - They were fantastic, Lovely girls kept the little ones happy and even made gifts for us!
Ben and Laura - Again they were both amazing with the kids, really friendly, music was amazing Ben played some older Hed Kandi music and Laura played her sax all night!
Paul Spargo - The ceremony was perfect for us, the readings were beautiful and he kept the whole service light and soo romantic!
Everyone involved made our day so special and memorable!
Good luck to all you future Elixir Brides! Cherish every second!
Kirsty your wedding sounds lovely and yet another good review on the food at elixir! We've got Ana Lui doing the video and also using Smack! Thanks for all the info! X

There are a number of dry cleaners in Ibiza (of course) - depends which area you are in, Santa Eulalia has a good one just off the restaurant street, you won't have a problem.
I receive notifications on this forum, it is nice to read but I don't often reply, Bees - is good at that he is very helpful and young enough to be full of energy, this post though intrigues me, You have obviously done your home work, and you have raised some interesting points, Hacienda is superb, the ampitheatre is a wonderful attraction, the hotel and service is traditional and really is hard to beat, food and service top quality, I would agree about the dance room, seems a little small although with lighting and a smoke machine - it's good (Beeswax can hire those items to you). At a wedding not everyone wants to dance anyway. The reception is held on the outside terrace, you only retire inside later evening for the food and dancing, let's face it when it's dark you could be anywhere anyway! Food and service has to be number one!
Amante, has stunning views too, again always excellent, food good. If you can manage to book on full moon or night before or night after - then it really and truly has the wow factor! Yes it has a disadvantage on size ie: changing dress.
There are a number of other very good locations, Experimental Beach Club, previously Cap Des Falco, has already earned a good reputation with this young new dynamic team. It is well worth a look, you get a wonderful sunset, but again you are limited on space for changing and as yet there are no reports on the food. Although I have already catered the wedding cake for their first wedding and the place looked gorgeous.
Can Curreu and Atzaro, are both wonderful places, your and guests can also stay at these places and both have excellent reviews, I personally like Can Curreu, food is excellent. The disadvantage with these places is that they are inland.
All in all it is a difficult choice, so I am not sure I have helped very much as you already have listed what is good and what is bad about both places, it really has to be your personal preference and experience at the end of the day, you will probably find that one small 'thing' will make your decision. Good luck with all your planning.
Amante is also nice and one of very few view venues here that you can have a proper party. They have a strict 2am finish, but the music is at party volume until then.
Atzaro is also worth considering - they are great with big groups like yours.
