Thank you very much for the advice Eileen! I agree with you that it's all down to personal preference. I've never been so indecisive like this ever before. Both my partner and I just love both venue so much and they both have something special and wonderful that the other one doesn't have. Give us major headache!
Also all our guests will be coming in from overseas so we would like to find somewhere extra special not only for us but also for them as well.
Another thought.... we had a couple 2 years ago who did this: they stayed on the pre-wedding night at Hacienda, held the ceremony at the amphitheater, after which they had cocktails./ canapes. They then transported all their guests to another venue (which has since closed down). You could transport your guests to Amante and you would then get best of both worlds.....
I was lucky enough to do the first - have another one next week, I have always loved Cap Des Falco and I think these new people have experience and are putting lots of energy into it.
Probably see you there soon!! -
See the cake I did on my facebook page www.facebook.com/ibizacakes.
I think everyone is different in what they want adn what they like and who they are entertainging etc - for us we wanted a very typically Ibizan rustic feel and to actually be on a beach which is what we have got... Elixir though it had a wow factor didnt feel "Ibizan" more a restaurant that cold have been anywhere in the world and also although there is access down on to a beach it is not actually on the beach so in the evening / night time you wouldnt be on it.
Amante i thought was beautiful but a bit over our budget, Hacienda we liked but agian just felt like a hotel rather than what we feel Ibiza is to us... but as i say everyone is different!
I cant wait now - i just keep looking at the weather and it is rainy at the moment according to BBC - i hope the sun comes out by 6 weeks time!
SO happy - just reached my target weight too - was on a Juice Plus shake plan was amazing and better than any other WW or SW plans i tried! - was also good for recovery after my workouts so I am feeling ready and glowing now for the big day! - If anyone wants details on Juice Plus PM me and I can tell you more about it! - AMAZING results for my perfect wedding body!
Is anyone else doing the legal bit in the UK before they head out there?? - We wanted to incorporate a signing of some sort during our blessing has anyone else thought about this or done something similar??
I haven't been on here for a while however are there any previous Elixir brides out there? I am getting married 4th October at Elixir but never been there !
I live in Sydney therefore would love to see some photos if any of you are willing!! Anyone getting married there soon?
I will email you both details of it shortly - SOOOO HAPPY! - I also suffer from IBS and lack of sleep due to wedding stress and it has really benefitted me in relation to both of that as well
I go on June 8th for 5 weeks - wedding is 28 June - we are getting married at El Chiringuito in Cala Gracioneta - we just fell in love with the rustic charm of it ibizan feel and the fact that it is right on the beach - we are having out first dance on the beach!
Where are you getting married Kate?
It comes around so quick we have been planning since September! xx
I am a Cas Mila bride 31st May 2014! I am very much looking forward to counting down the next year and have visited the venue which I was very surprised with and booked with on the spot!
Thanks miss g to be I look forward to receiving the email.
i am getting married at cas Mila on 14th June 2014. Hoping to go out to ibizs and see the venue and look around at hotels and things next month. I think then it will all start seeming a bit more real than at the moment!
how lucky are you to be going for 5 weeks! That's fantastic!!
6.8.2013. 74 days till our Wedding - not like i'm counting!!! Andrew and i are getting married on the beach at Pura Vida. We have booked Lovely Laura to perform and Ben Santiago to DJ durning the canapes. I'm using Smack for Hair and Make Up I'm a make up artist myself but would like to have the day off
For Photo's I've chosen Maria Simon, with Sean Fearon performing the ceremony which we have added a few personal touches.
After our bbq we are going to surprise the guests with a fireshow on the beach.
My Main headache has been thinking of way to get all my bits and bots over to the island along with my holiday gear! I wanted a photo booth but decided to just take paper props rather than hats, wigs etc.
Any other pura vida brides out there i'd love to hear from you.
Hi! Very brave but very cool ditching the UK wedding for an Ibiza one! The spiritual ceremony in Ibiza has no formal prerequisite so you can have that when ever you want and then the legal registry office part in the uk can happen before or after. They're not linked at all as the only part recognised by law is the UK bit.
I think the only reason most people say do the legal bit in the UK first is so when you say I do at the Ibiza blessing you are legally married already.
We got back from Ibiza a couple of weeks ago and after seeing various places (Can Talaias, Hostal Salinas, ECC, Atzaro, Cas Mila, Pura Vida), we have decided on Elixir for our big day in September 2014!! I have pics so will send them to you Jenn when I get a chance - you will not be disappointed...it is simply beautiful (the pics don't really do it justice) and perfect for what we wanted (gorgeous views, stunning decor, near a beach and hot weather). It is not typically Ibizan in its look, but we weren't going for that...we just wanted to guarantee (hopefully - ha!) good weather and fantastic food somewhere not a million miles away from the UK...so excited!
As it's so far away, any sort of diet/exercise has taken a back seat but would be interested to hear about the juice diet...congrats on reaching your target Miss G!
Has anyone sorted flowers themselves by the way, who did you use? And which photographer is everyone using?
Forgot to mention this in my previous post - we have been told that we can have the spiritual ceremony/blessing in Ibiza first then sign the legal papers in the UK when we get back - this is much better as I would consider the Ibizan ceremony to be when I actually get married and when we would celebrate our anniversary.
i too am a elixir bride(getting married 10th sep this year). Really excited. I would love to see some pictures if someone wouldn't mind emailing then to me **********@*******.**.** as we booked without viewing the venue to keep costs down. And I have faith- as long as it is sunny!! Does everyone have their dresses? And are you having destination dresses or more classic? Mine is benjamin Roberts 2228. Lace. I too am getting a blessing and then the legal part here when I get back to the uk (I haven't booked it yet) as I agree I feel that my wedding day will be the 10th sep xx
I did the legal bit first - based on just knowing that when we exchange rings and say the vows and "you are now husband & wife" we actually will be - but there is no right way its just whatever you prefer! Everyone is different! - We are hoping that the lady who does our ceremony will provide a certificate of union so that we also have something we can actually sign on the day too!
As we are driving over (so we can take our dog!) and are going for 5 weeks it means i have all the room in the car and no weight limit so should be quite easy to take things as we have a LOT to take!
I too am using Smack for my make up, my fllowers and cake have all been sorted by the venue with my imput of flavours and colours and we are having Laura and Ben (Hed Kandi) DJ!
2 weeks tomorrow we leave! - soooooooooooooo excited!
Love-In-Ibiza - yes i will fwd to you the details of Juice Plus as well it worked amazing for me and my fiancee - and we still take the capsules now as they just keep our skin free from spots and my nails have got really stong and long so they look pretty too! - Happy to share this with anyone if they are interested!
Hi miss g to be, I don't seem to have received the juice plan yet have you sent it to me?
also, have u driven to ibiza before? I have considered this option also although haven't got 5 weeks to play with but just wondered what route you take and what the cost is in comparison to flying?
I too think I am going to get married here first so that I am mrs Rushton on the day in ibiza!
How exciting!!! I wanted to have Laura- hed kandi. But they are fully booked for our day. So disappointed xx I wish we had thought about taking our dog too as feel mean she isn't going to be there. But we have a good home for her for the week xx
We fly out to Ibiza tomorrow morning ready for our wedding at Elixir next Sunday! Just collected my dress and off for some pampering and last minute packing!
Using Eat/elixirs florist, smack make up, Ana Lui for the Video, DJ Steve Kershaw and Photographer Dadfodil Waves (UK based but travels!) have never been so excited in my life and will post some pics when we are home for all the other Elixir Brides to Be! Found hitched very helpful throughout the planning of it all!
Kate M - Sorry havent yet but i will do on bank holiday Monday - am away for a hen weekend so dont have all the info to hand!!
The distance is about 1500 miles each way - maybe 3 tanks of petrol, the eurotunnel and a ferry. We are driving down through france thorugh Barcelona and getting the ferry across from Denia.. it will work out quite pricey (more than return flights) but due to the dog it was our only option! Flights were charging £1500 each way for him!! The drive is about £700 return for me H2B and the dog!
Ibizawedding2013 - OMG!! Exciting! - Have an awesome time! Cant wait to see photos!
Hi everyone ? It has been ages since I posted on here, been super busy finishing off at Uni so I can finally start relaxing and planning properly!
My finance and I are heading to Ibiza at the end of August to hopefully view some venues and make a final decision. I am just so torn at the moment I'm hoping when I'm actually there one will stand out more than others.
We are hoping to visit Amante, the Hacienda and Elixir. The only problems are I have been trying to contact someone at the Hacienda and I have had no response whatsoever! And I'm also a bit worried about the dj thing at Elixir, are you only allowed to use the designated dj? My fiance is a dj so it is really important to him to be able to choose so that is obviously a big thing for us.
My first post on here and just want to say thanks to everyone for all your previous posts as it has definitely given us some food for thought. We are going out to Ibiza in just over a week to have a look at Cas Mila, Elixir, Pura Vida and Atzaro. We were thinking of June 2014 (bit last minute as always) but seeing the previous posts on here me thinks that will be a bit of a problem! As long as it's not the school holidays we don't really mind - both of us are typical laidback Librans.
Im sure I'll be posting on here in the future but for now - good luck to you all xxxx
