Hi I'm sorry I'm not sure about vodka. I was drinking cava which was about 3 euros and I think local beer was about the same price but I'm not sure about other drinks sorry x
I have just got home from venue hunting in Ibiza, we went to look at Cas Mila and asked about drinks prices your looking at €3-4 for a beer, A bottle of Dom Perignon was only €130!!! Which obviously is a lot of money but puts prices into perspective compared to other places on the island
I am getting married as Cas Mila next year, and wondered if anyone has a list of Photographers, florists, cake suppliers and DJ's that are generally used? And if anyone has any recommendations.
The only thing I dont need is hair and make up as I have friends to help- happy days :-)
i am going to be a Ibiza bride in June 2014. I have my heart set on El Chiringuito as I want a casual laid back day, stunning beach and more of a party vibe. Lucy has been absolutely amazing and could not ask for any better.
However, I am really stumped over the ceremony. I have had some quotes back, ranging from 400-650€ for a celebrant. To me that seems so high! I am actually considering getting a friend to do the ceremony as we technically won't be legally married in Ibiza. That money could be spent else where, like behind the bar :-).
Has anyone got any suggestions or know of any celebrants that are cheaper?
To save on costs, why don't you speak with friends to see if one of them is a good speaker, then write your own ceremony and make your own vows of commitment. You can search the internet to help find good words to say.
It really should be special as your guests have travelled a long way to be there to listen to you both confirm your love for one another, a good ceremony host will make this a beautiful occasion which will last far longer than an extra drink .
Alternatively You can always leave it out and just have a celebration party .
4 weeks today i am geting married at El Chiringuito! - Lucy has been AMAZING! - ane we loved the venue for the reasons you have said - chilled out, beach vibe, rustic and just typically Ibizan!
I think we are paying about €400 for our celebrant - Sonia... have you asked for this thorugh Lucy as well?
Will send you our pics once we are back in the UK! Exciting times!
Thanks Eileen. This is what i am thinking of doing. I still want to make it feel like a real wedding but its actually costing more to have a celebrant than to get legally married. I would pay up to 200e but i think any higher is a bit steep.
OMG i cannot believe you are getting married in 4 weeks, lucky you. I have to wait another year :-( i am hoping that it will be a bit warmer than what it is at the moment.
Yes, Lucy is amazing... so helpful and emails you back straight away. I have not even seen the venue, only via pictures but i got a really good vibe from her straight away so thats why i went with El Chiringuito.
Lucy did recommend Sonia and Sean for 400e however, i still think that is allot of money. I am not tight, i just feel that is allot to shell out. Are you having a DJ?
I used Hedley Paul as a celebrant. I had thought at first the cost of them was so much aswell. But it was definately worth it, and people still mention how lovely the ceremony was. x
I think the cheapest that I've heard of is about €250 for a celebrant but I do think it's lovely to get a special friend to do it. I've worked on a couple of weddings like that and it does add the personal touch. Plus, as you say, that money could be useful spent on extra entertainment or booze. I often DJ with a live singer and it makes such a difference to the atmosphere when it comes to party time!! The first one I had like that, the celebrant was an uncle who was a skipper on a boat and apparently they used to be able to marry people at sea anyway!!
I don't think it's unfair what the celebrants charge; as all the ceremonies tend to be at similar times, so once they have committed to your wedding, they have basically blocked out the whole day and have to turn down or pass on any other bookings.
Hope it all works out great - El Chiringuito is such a beautiful venue so you're bound to have a wonderful ceremony whatever you decide :-)
Yes - we also think it is a fair amount of money but have kind of just got caught up in the spending a bit! -Oooops!
We also fell in love with the venue before we even visited it - then felt when we were over there that perhaps we should look at others as well but as soon as we saw it we both knew straight away it was exactly what we were after - and Lucy just makes it even more desirarable with all her help etc!
We are having Hed Kandi as the DJ and Lovely Laura - playing from 9-mid night... then you have to go on to a playlist as i dont think they can have the music too loud at that point! - Still loud enough for a dance etc though!
I am watching the weather now - it seems to be about 22 at the moment - i think i would like it to be about 26 - Not too hot else i may pass out! - Picking my dress up tomorrow!!!!
My fiancee is also a wedding photographer - he is on here as Nick Griffiths Photography and as of next summer will be doing weddings in Ibiza - so if you fancy dropping him a line for a quote or chat I am sure he can help - haha he is doing our wedding DVD too - so can send you a link to that as well so you can see the venue as well!
I have been actually looking on your site for DJ's :-) however my other half is into Indie (but yet still loves Ibiza) where i am more into dance / Indie. Unfortuantly your DJ's did not do a mix of music as sad as i know it is, we have to go more down the Indie for the other half, Commercial and golden oldies for the elders... spotify i think it will be :-(
Thank you for your advice. I fully understand that Celerants need to make their money and hey i would do it for that price lol but i think we are going more for the party and celebration so i am seriously considering getting my brother to bless us and use the money else where, like booze.
Let me know if you stumble across some DJ's in your passing that would do my choice of music, between now and next June :-)
I know what you mean about getting caught up in the spending! This is why i am trying to do a few cut backs before i go over board.
I am hoping to go out in the next few months to see the venue, but like you i think its the one. I do feel sorry for Lucy as i am just bombarding her with so many questions.
I thought the music had to be off at midnight and vacat by 12.45am? Problem is, my other half likes Indie where as i listen to anything! I think we are going to have to use spoitify if we cannot get a DJ to play a bit of both.
You will defininatly have the weather. I wish i could wait until the end of June but i had to have mine in the school holidays as my partners mum is a teacher :-( i wanted it to be warmer.
Oh i have seen your fiancee's website before. Looks good! I had my eye on Gypsy Westwood as she has the look i really want, natural with no poses. I will consult my other half.
We're actually getting married there in a fortnight's time - we've used Deliciously Sorted to plan, and rented the villa through International Villas.. both of whom have been absolutely amazing. If you have any questions on it, or want to see pix afterwards, just let me know!
Its called Can Alexia, but International Villas call it Casa Anna for some reason!
Deliciously sorted are brilliant event planners not only weddings but the 'elite' parties on the Island, I am very happy to say I provide many cakes for them Including tomorrow - at one of their villas - I am not sure if it is the same one
i thought I would share my latest excitement and anxiety
so my uk wedding is now completely canceled. We have decided on ibiza wedding dates and having a villa to hold the ceremony (and 6 of us to have a holiday while we are there
thank you for your suggestions, looks like me and Fiancé will do the bare min legal bit on the quite before we fly so we are legally married when we have our wedding. We are not even going to t&l our parents, until the morning of the wedding (think they need to know ahead of the vows so they really understand the ibiza wedding is THE wedding).
we are just waiting for our villa to be confirmed (only a small 6 bed but set in the country). We still haven't decided what to do on the day, is anyone having or already had a very small (around 15-20) and what did you do after ceremony?
Also does anyone know where I can o to get decorations in ibiza as we get there a week ahead so we can finalise plans and I would like to pick up decorations for the villa.
one last thing - we are looking for a hotel for a week "honeymoon"tagged on to the end and wondered if anyone can recommend some 4/5 star hotels in ibiza suitable for honeymoon.
Have a look at some of these hotels inTrip Adivsor "agroturismo ibiza" - they are all 4 or 5 * and are much more like a countryside or beach boutique hotel rather than a big commercial holiday hotel so i think would feel a lot more special for your honeymoon week... we have booked to stay is Es Trull. - When is yoru wedding?
On another note - this is for any locals or anyone who knows Ibiza well - do you know where you can buy a BBQ over there? - We are there for 5 weeks and rather than take one with us we were hopng that theer would be shop or supermarket that sells a decent size BBQ??
We leave on Saturday morning - soooooooooooooo excited now!!
There are a number of places to buy a BBQ - I recommend: Citubo - which is located on the road to the airport. A good place for all sorts of stuff
Also FITA - they will have a good variety. They are in Ibiza on the approach road from Santa Eulalia just before reaching Ibiza ( the dual carriage way part. Again they have loads of stuff.
You will find that all these items are more expensive than the UK though
