My Husband is Hedley Paul - www.blessings-on-ibiza.com The most important part of any wedding on Ibiza is the ceremony, otherwise it is just a party!! Take a look at his website and facebook page, he does get excellent reviews .
Enjoy the planning, you will find something overlooking Es Vedra, but of course as it is a very special place prices seem to rise when there is a view of it!!!

I've DJ'd at a few weddings at Can Talaias and the ones there this year were really nice. Cushan and Laetitia are really helpful and it's a beautiful spot.
I can try and put you in touch with the 2013 brides if you've got lots of questions about the rest of the day?
For babysitting I've used Childcare Ibiza for my friends in the past and they were great. Decoration wise, there are lots of trees and things there so it lends itself well to fairy lights, lanterns and uplighters.
Hey Marie - we are using Vintagebus4rentibiza for transport but that's because we want to do something different then regular rolls. For hair makeup thinking Pauline Boom (also because we met and just love her).. Photographer Ana Lui cause we love her stuff (meeting her tomorrow). Gypsy Westwood also looks great. Venue - we're doing the lovely San Carlos church!!
Hello Ibiza brides to be! This post is for Elixir brides, past and future. I am planning our wedding at Elixir for 2015 and I have just received our booking contract. I have noticed that they have said if we pick a different DJ from their's then we will need to select their DJ as well to maintain the sound system. Can anyone clarify this for me, or tell me of their experiences with this? I'm just a wee bit worried now as I'm worried there will be another cost to what is already becoming a very expensive wedding.
I am getting married at Elixir in August and are going with the DJ that they have suggested to keep the costs down. I've just had another look at my booking contract and it doesn't say anything about having to have their DJ to maintain the sound system as well as the one you'd wish to book. It does state that there is a 400 Euros charge for the sound system itself but that's all i can find. In the 'Wedding Bible' that i was given that other DJ's are welcome they just have to pre approve them first.
I'd send Vicki an email just to double check as that wasn't mentioned when we booked. If that is the case i think that is a little extautionate and over the top. Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding.
Yeah I thought that as well, I don't know if she means that we need to also have their dj with the hire of the equipment which is fair enough, but I am not happy to be paying for 2 x djs just because I want someone specific. Fingers crossed I have got the wrong end of the stick!!
Do you mind me asking who you have used for flowers, photography, etc?
Definitely ask and clarfy it now rather than later. Make sure you know exactly what you have to pay for.
My biggest gripe with Eat is that they would always try to sneak in some extra cost some way or another without me seeing it. Every time I sent the planning document and got it back, there was some extra charge or something where the price had increased from what it was on the previous document. These changes were never marked and I was never notified of them so I had to go over it every time with a fine tooth comb and compare it to the last one and the argue the differences. This went on till the very last day at which point I just gave up because I was too stressed about the wedding. Keep an eye out because those little things add up.
On another note, I recommend Brian as a DJ. We were so happy with him and I can’t say enough good things. The music was exactly what we wanted, and he ended up staying much later than we originally planned which was fabulous since we got to party to the wee hours of the morning.
I used Kids in Ibiza for my wedding and they did a great job. They have lots of kids games and toys and they do stuff like painting and even face painting if you want it. They also have girls that speak different languages if needed.
I'm getting married at Elixir Aug next year and have just sent my 1st draught of the wishlist, so much to think about!
I have emailed Kids in Ibiza but have had no response, I would really like an idea of what they offer and prices as I have loads of kids coming to my wedding.
Anyone looking for invites and save the dates, I have found two great designers - Bedcrumb (lovely save the date cards with magnetic badges on plus 'will you be my bridesmaid/best man cards) and Ditsy Chic (wedding passport invites) I received excellent service from both.
Anyone that has previously married in Elixir, have you bothered getting a wedding car there? It seems pointless as nobody can see!
Any more advice on do's and don'ts for Elixir would be great!
I think it's a misunderstanding if i'm honest as that would be ridiculous and completely unfair. I know that you have to pay for the sound equipment that they have there for definite but it's up to you which DJ you chose to go for, they like to pre approve, but Vicky will be able to clear it up. We have chosen to just go with who they have suggested as as long as he plays our playlist we aren't too fussed.
For flowers i am going with their usual supplier rather than sourcing myself, i did contact a few other suppliers but to make things easier for myself i've left it to them to coordinate as feel they know the suppliers over there better than i do. If you were looking to arrange you own then i had a recommendation for Floral Dreams Ibiza and they were very quick to respond to my inquiry.
For photography it was a toss up between Ana Lui and Gypsy Westwood, both have amazing photography and similar pricing but Gypsy did come out cheaper for more hours worth of photography so we chose to go with her and her assistant.
We have chosen Ana Lui for our video though, so we've gone with one of the packages she offers for around 4 hours of videography.
Hair and Make-up i have chosen Smack Ibiza as again i had a few recommendations and also a friend that lives in Ibiza has said they are very good.
Hope that all helps, if you want to discuss anything just give me a shout. I sent back my Wedding Wish List to Vicky on Sunday with decoration decisions etc so am in the latter part of planning
I'm also getting married next August and just sent my 1st draft... eek! so exciting isn't it.
I have the prices for kids in Ibiza if you'd like me to email them through to you?
We are staying in a villa about 10 mins from Elixir so i've decided not to book a car, Vicky has given me the details for a company that i can book a 'nicer' taxi through but we may just call taxis, it's literally up the road and seems such a waste of money for when people won't be seeing the car. But i guess it depends on how far you are staying from the venue,
I'm also looking for do's and don'ts so would be interested to see what others respond.
Please could you provide the details of the 'nicer' taxi. We are staying at Can Verru and get married on 29th May at Elixir and weve decided on a Taxi for the wedding party.
Well i say details, its more she's told us that is now an option rather than hiring a car, it is quite expensive still though, at 150 Euros, if you contact her directly she'll be able to get a quote etc for you i expect.
We still aren't sure if we'll book that or just order a normal taxi as that's still a lot of money for a taxi i think.
I'm also another Elixir bride - June 2014!! Can't believe how quickly it's coming around now!
I'm the same as you - I didn't see the point in booking a proper wedding car as no-one will see, so I got a quote from www.ibizabus.es who could do a Mercedes Viano for me, my step-dad and my 2 bridesmaids at EUR95 + tax which was a lot cheaper than I had been quoted elsewhere. I'm just waiting from Vickki and Leah to see if they have any reservations with this company but I think they also had smaller cars if you needed it?
Hi I'm an Elixir bride June 2014. I've booked Brian and have to pay the €400 for sound system but not their DJ (no mention of that in my contract, however I imagine they are continually changing these). As I talk to providers they are starting to say I'm not allowed to provide that at the Elixir for 2014 - this is not lined up with my contract which says I'm able to use other florists etc. The rough guide prices seem ok on the Elixir bible but I'm concerned that when I get my first draft back these are going to be so much more (especially now reading what others have put). I love the Elixir venue and an truly happy with my choice - the food is delicious, however all the restrictions that im facing....it worries me slightly and I would want to read the contract Elixir bible before booking next time. I didn't know it existed when I booked and not sure if people would be allowed but I'd urge anyone to ask to see that before committing!!!
Id like to get anyone's experience with florists on the island and the table decorations used for Elixir - want reasonable in price, pretty but simple??
Hi fellow Elixir brides! I'm getting married at Elixir on 15th Aug next year & have also just submitted my wedding wish list! Time seems to be flying by quicker and quicker as the day gets closer!!
I've read through your comments about transport etc & emailed Vickki/Leah as I had the same concerns. Vickki advised me today that she has no special taxi info, she said there are three options:
1. Arriving by taxi
2. Arriving by wedding car (you've all seen the prices!!)
3. Book a nice hire car & have your Dad/another guest drive you to Elixir
Vicki also mentioned the transport situation at the end of your wedding night; we we're previously advised we would have to pre-pay for shuttle busses to be laid on - this is no longer the case....
"WE ARE SOOOO HAPPY to have resolved the issue of transport at the end of the evening, I can't tell you how amazing it is that we have negotiated a special deal just for Elixir to have legal buses come and be no standby at the end of the night without any advanced payment.
We offer all our wedding guests a concierge service whilst they are at Elixir, which means we coordinate them getting home at the end, this means we ask them 'hey where are you goin' and they tell us..'playa den Bossa' so we pop them on a bus, tell the driver and off he goes to their location..they then pay (typically 10E per person) as they get off.
So you don't need to do anything now..just relax and we take care of it all."
FAB news I'm sure you will all agree!
Personally I would have no reservations in recommending Elixir & Vickki - we've found everything to be nothing short of perfect so far!
Thanks for that, the taxi info that Vickki gave to me were as follows:
If you should wish us to organise transport to pick you up at the villa, we can book a 8 seater for you, but we would need the GPS directions before we can book this in, so we can check access for the bus to the villa, the cost is 150E.
This was the type of taxi i was on about when i said they can arrange taxis rather than a car...
She also mentioned the buses at the end of the night and i am so glad that is now the arrangement as was already becoming a headache trying to find out where guests were planning on staying for week of the wedding.
Also an August bride, it's coming around so quickly isn't it.... Hope planning is going well
I have been going through some of the post and it was mentioned that we all know what the prices are for cars but I can't find anything on this. Is there a list floating around which I missed? looking form something "different" but don't want to five ourselves. Anyone any tips??
To all past Elixir Brides...I need help with the DJ!
According to the bible, there can only be DJ music until 12pm and then you have to switch to an iPod. I don't really understand this as surely the volume on the DJ music can just be turned down, but I wanted to know what sort of effect switching to iPod music had on the party vibe. At midnight, the dancing's only been going since around 9pm and there are still 2 hours of dancing left. It's usually towards the end of the night where everybody's up and dancing and don't really want everyone to be trailing off and going home early.
What has everyone else's experience with this been? And what sort of music did you have on your iPod between 12-2am?
That's a silly rule. I don't see what difference it is to turn down the music whether it's on the ipod or not. Unless the DJ packs up his equipment and leaves and you have to use much smaller speakers. In that case guests might start leaving since the DJ is packing up and it looks like things are winding down. You don't wna that, I would argue it if I were you. You are paying tons of money. You should get what you want. The DJ is usually not that expensive to keep for another couple hours since you've already paid for all the equipment and such. My DJ played til 4am and when we turned down the music around 3 you did not notice that much of a difference so it worked perfectly. (I was at a villa though, not at Elixer, so I can't comment on that).
Some girls have posted about a wedding car. We had a very nice classic car for ours and the price was decent. If anyone is interested in the contact info please get in touch with my privately.
Hi H - yes I am interested in a nice classic car. I'm not sure how to get in touch with you privately though. New on this forum as I'm not getting married until 2015. Looking at vintagebus4rentibiza.com which are VW kombi's but would like to compare some classic vintage options if there are any.
We are getting married in Ibiza next year. We went to view 12 venues in the Summer just gone. Elixir being one of them. Whilst the venue was nice and Vicki was lovely, the venue is not set up so that music can be played past mid night. When I was over there we met people who part of two wedding parties of people getting married in Elixir. At both parties the music went down at mid night. The law in Ibiza is no music can be played past mid night in a residential area otherwise they will be fined. This is why we have decided against this venue as you are right its only at 11pm or so that the party gets going and you are getting married in Ibiza - the party island. So you can have a DJ but probably not worth paying the money as the music will indeed be very low.
Someone has mentioned on this forum that you have to have their specific DJ at Elixir. Vicki may want you to have their specific DJ but you are entitled to have your own DJ as I know a number of people have.
I'm hoping it won't be a problem as I'm already booked up there. If there are any past Elixir brides who have already gotten married there who could let me know their experiences with their guests and the music restrictions, that would be really helpful.
I've had quotes from two florists and their quotes were v similar if not the same as the ones Vickki quotes in the inspiration bible so will probably just go with them, unless you have someone else? Which venue did you go with in the end?
It's all getting quite pricey...none of our guests have said no to the invite, so need to make savings in other areas!
