A tip for saving money on flowers: I went with El Ramo de Flores in Santa Eularia, for my wedding last summer. They were fantastic, extremely flexible and had very good prices. The bouquets etc. were similar priced to Vickki's florist, but the centrepieces were a 1/4 to the 1/3rd of the cost of Vickki's. They were beautiful with tons of flowers, vases, candles, and they even did extra decorating of the venue for me with some items that I purchased. They also provided petals and baskets for the church.
I didn't get marred at Elixer however, I got married back when Vickki still did catering at other venues .. so I have no idea what she allows as far as other vendors. I just remember that the prices for the centrepieces were absurd so I had to go with someone else. I have some pics if you want just ask. Good luck girls. I know how it is to need to save so money!! My wedding cost spiralled out of control really fast, lol!
How exciting for you Gibby - I bet you can't wait.
Thank you also Copa - I would love to see some pics of what you went for - I had El Ramo down on my list of suppliers (I've made my own list whilst waiting for the bible).
Ladies can I ask who did / how you have doing your ceremony & photographers used / using?
it won't let me send you an attachment through the email on here, have you got your email address and i'll forward you last years copy, i'm pretty sure this years will be very similar.
For the ceremony we have gone with Anna Brooks as she has come highly recommended and for photographer Gypsy Westwood, she gave the best package for our budget, but we have gone with Ana Lui for the video, we weren't going to bother but thought it'd be such a shame to not have a video to remember the day by.
Hi all, I get married at Elixir on the 15th Aug this year! Getting more & more excited as the days go on!
We‘ve booked all suppliers through Vickki as it just seemed like the easiest thing to do, Vickki obviously has good relationships with everyone she deals with, peace of mind comes at a price I suppose. Only thing I’m a tad worried about is the flowers – it’s been a killer only being able to provide one photograph to the florist, I’m sure everything will be fine though – all the photographs I’ve seen look fabulous. Just hard to imagine the end result.
We’ve booked Ana Lui for both our photographs & video – like you Gibby, we didn’t plan on having a video but as soon as we saw their work we knew we had to have one!!
We’ve also booked Ana Brooks, seems like a really genunie lovely lady – looking forward to meeting her. Vickki advised us to book that asap as they are in high demand during the summer months.
Everything seems to be going very smoothly at the moment – just waiting on final numbers of guests so we can get cracking with our stationery/favours etc.! Starting to wonder how I’m going to fit everything in my case!
I got married at Elixir last year - beautiful venue!
The bible is a sooo helpful and makes the planning process really simple, we used all Vickki's suppliers. Steve as DJ was fine, Ana Brooks highly recommended and photography we used a UK photographer - Daffodil Waves Photography! Our wedding was featured on Rock my Wedding Blog so you can have a look at our pics on there but Nicola made me feel so comfortable (I HATE having my picture taken!) the cost can spiral but just stick to what's important to you. I found with decor the venue is so stunning and the view steals the show so there's no need to go mad, wanted the dessert table but we decided to save the cost and it turned out everyone was so full from the gorgeous bbq and dessert that the dessert table wouldn't have been necessary!
You're in very good hands with Vickki and her team!
link for blog feature is here - http://www.rockmywedding.co.uk/a-crazy-idea/ any questions ask away, I could talk about elixir all day!!!
Yours will soon come around Lynsey – I can’t believe how quickly ours is approaching!
For favours we’re thinking lottery tickets for the fella’s & personalised do not disturb door hangers for the ladies – it’s so hard to come up with suitcase friendly ideas. Any inspiration from anyone would be much appreciated J
Ok I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post a picture or send a ink for a single picture from the wedding website. so I will just give you all the link to my photos. Especially since I cannot recommend Ana Lui enough for those of you who are looking for a photographer. She was perfect, the photos speak for themselves and the videos they did were AMAZING. I think if you want to splurge money on something, it should be her. The memories are worth it. (btw - I think I have a bit of a girl crush :-), hahaha)
Hi Heather - I've seen your wedding pics, they are fab - looks like you had a perfect day!!
We are thinking of booking Steve too, just because it will be easier, would you recommend him? I can't find any info out about him. Did you have him play until midnight and then switch to iPod music like the inspiration bible suggests - if so, how did this go down with guests/atmosphere? Or did you pay the extra and have him play til 2am?
We're getting married at Elixir this Sept, we've also decided against the dessert table, even though it would look stunning because we thought people would be stuffed from the food! Is there anything you would've done differently with your day in hindsight?
Gibby, I got quotes from both Floral Dreams and El Ramos and found their quotes about the same as Vickki's supplier. Only thing is now, that she doesn't allow any external suppliers for venue decor. They can still do your bouquets and buttonholes but not flowers for the venue decor (flower arch, tables etc.)
Hi, I'm really sorry to jump on the bandwagon but would mind sending me the wedding bible also? Driving myself crazy trying to guestimate the costs of everything.
Deleted my email as I started getting coincidental spam!
Hi Gibby - jumping onto the band wagon as well - would love a copy of the bible. Still haven't received anything from Vicky - wonder why not? it seems so last minute!
Your wedding pics are beautiful! I love the mustang great choice. Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated- my email is ******.********@*******.**.**
Thanks so much for the bible. After reading it thoroughly and working everything out we are definitely going with Elixir making transfer of deposit tomorrow exciting !
Already my budget has been blown by just adding up what we ideally want on the wish list !
I know this is a very private question but could anyone give me a rough idea of what their wedding has cost or will cost at Elixir ??
Steve was great, we sent him our wishlist of songs before the day and just left him to it and he took requests from guests, our wedding was before the law was changed with the midnight/music issue so we had Steve until 2am.
We had a smaller wedding cake - just one tier, saved some money but still looked and tasted perfect. It's easy to get carried away with chair decor, centrepieces etc but your day will be perfect without them! Invest in a good photographer, food, drink and entertainment! The rest is a bonus!
I honestly don't think there is anything we would have done differently, I knew I wanted Vickki/Eat Ibiza to look after our day and we viewed elixir before it was finished/open in 2012 and fell in love with it straight away! The flowers from Vickki's recommended florists were stunning, smack brilliant for hair and make up and my hen do with mamboats!
we rented a villa with lovely infinity pool overlooking ea vedra within walking distance from elixir (saves having wedding cars!) it was booked via Ibiza Spotlight and called Can Bernadet.
Had a look at your blog on rockywedding, your wedding was beautiful! I noticed you had your sister make runners for the table? Do you or does your sister have measurements for these? I am hoping to do something similar to inject a bit of colour into the table. If not it is cool, I can ask Vickki when i am next in touch with her.
Hi Cas Mila Brides, Sorting out the final touches for our wedding and just wondered if anyone bothered with the photo booth? Was it worth it, or shall i save the money? thank you x
Hi Misslighttobe, I think its just an area they set up like you said, not an actual booth like over her. What does Laura do? We want the fire dancers. they look amazing. x
We're planning to have a poloroid camera for people to take photos of themselves, stick in the guestbook and then write a message next to it - friends of ours did the same thing and it was such a lovely idea, I think you'll really capture the atmosphere from the point of view of the guests.
Elixir brides - we're thinking of moving our wedding an hour forward to start at 3.30 so that the evening party isn't so restricted by the midnight sound laws in Ibiza. It means the wedding will finish at 1pm but there will only be 1 hour where the music has to be turned down after midnight - what are you all doing?
Lovely Laura is a saxophonist but she freestyles over house, pop and even garage music! Shes very talented.. she does headKandi and there is noone else like her so Im abit gutted!
Im 31st May... its coming around so fast! I have bought so many decorations and collected jars and put candles in and decorated- just need to get them boxed and sent over there now! I think we have about 100 guests so its alot of table decorations to send so might be quite costly...
We've booked hed kandi for our Elixir wedding on Thursday 29th May - so excited.
We're having to take everything over ourselves as there is no place for storage at Elixir, we are only having our run through the day before our wedding, hope everything runs smoothly :-/
We were informed that fire dancers and lanterns werent allowed at Elixir x
We've moved our weding ceremony to 3.30pm for that reason, but Elixir actually shuts its doors at 1am - Drinking up time is 12-12.30, guests start to leave 12.30, elixir closes 1am xx
Love in Ibiza - when is your wedding? Only reason I ask is I went to a wedding in Ibiza in mid June 2012 - it was suppose to start at 16:30 at Amante & the venue suggested moving it to 5pm due to the heat. She moved it - it was still roasting though, the men were melting. I also think 3.30 is a better time due to the music but am thinking about the heat.
Gema - what decs have you purchased? My wedding isn't until 2015 but already thinking about this...-)
Hi Everyone, another Cas Mila bride here, getting married August 25th 2014.
I'm worried about getting everything over there, my favors, any personal decorations i want to add etc. can I ask, how is everyone else getting there decs over there? are you taking them over in your luggage/ are you posting them over prior to you arriving? this is my worry at the moment.
if anyone can offer any advice it would much appreciated?
Also any ideas for wedding favors? I'm struggling as there are so many options.
When I had my wedding last year we purchased our favors in Ibiza. That could lighten your load. What florist, decorator are you using? We were able to give decor items to the florist on a trip we took before the actual wedding week. They held them for us and then brought everything over and set if up for us. We still had TONS of luggage. I asked a couple of our friends to bring some stuff over for us. We even gave on bag to our friend, who only had hand luggage, and we paid for him to check it. Hope that helps.
