Actually vintagebus4rent came back with several options: blue, green, white and orange if I remember correctly. We opted for the light blue/white, it looked lovely.
Sounds great! we opted blue because I guess that's "our" colour :-)
so when is the wedding - maybe we'll see you driving us by, wouldn't that be fun! we're not getting married till next year though. plenty of time but like getting the details out of the way and meeting all the suppliers this summer. that in itself i'm already looking forward to. we have a big group coming with us so should be loads of sun.
I am getting married at Elixir on the 3rd August and was wondering whether to get married officially at home beforehand or after, what are others doing?
We are getting married at Elixir a few weeks after you, 28th August :0) We had the same question but have decided to get married the Friday before we go to Ibiza as feel at least the 'legal' part is out the way and we just enjoy the wedding without having the hassle of doing that part when we are back.
We aren't making a big deal of the civil ceremony and literally just having our parents there as we the wedding at Elixir is what is important to us. We aren't even exchanging rings at the civil ceremony as it's not a legal requirement, so are saving those for the wedding :0)
In my experience 90% of people have a very small service (parents & witnesses only) in the UK (or wherever they live) beforehand. That way, when the celebrant does their thing on the day and says the magic words in Ibiza, the bride and groom are actually man & wife and the Ibiza Wedding becomes the 'real' one :-)
It depends how much you want those particular people. Photographers and DJs can generally only do one wedding per day so once you pick the one for you it's best to get it confirmed - most of my brides confirm well over a year in advance. I get lots of requests closer to the date of the wedding but I have to turn a fair few down as people often picked the same dates for their wedding. Photographers like Gypsy and Ana Lui are very much in demand so they get booked up well in advance and you need to move fast.....
Celebrants and musicians are usually more flexible as they can often do two weddings in one day, depending on your timings of course.
Most of the other suppliers (flowers, decoration, transport etc.) are not quite so urgent as they can generally do two or more weddings in one day.
Basically, once you have done your research and made a decision, it's best to get things locked down. Most suppliers only need a small deposit anyway.
we get married at the Elixir in June this year and are having the legal ceremony in the uk the day before we fly out. Very small affair as we see the Elixir as being our "real wedding". Interesting about not having to exchange rings - I like that idea!
We are also doing the legal ceremony the Friday before, we then get married on the Thursday. as we are staying out there for a week after we still wouldn't be legally married.
Like the idea of no rings, we were planning on buying 2 cheaper ones for use, but maybe we will do this.
I am thinking of getting married in Elixir next summer, a couple of people mentioned the Elixir 'Bible', would anyone have a copy of this, if so I would love it if you could send it on to me. My email is *******@*******.***
We've booked Elixir for our wedding on the 2nd August 2015.
The thing we're struggling with at the moment is finding a hotel for us to stay in for the duration of our wedding (1 week). We really want to treat ourselves to something luxurious but at the same time there will be a few family members/ close friends who will want to stay in the same hotel as us.
What are you all planning on doing? Would love some advice!
Hi, did anyone have a copy of the 'elixir wedding bible' would be great if someone could forward it to me, Vicky is away until 3rd April so she can't send it me yet **************@*******.*** thanks ladies :-) x x
Hiya! We've got just over 11 weeks left now and still got a few bits and bobs to sort out. The bridesmaids dresses arrived yesterday (I ordered them online) and they had a trying on session tonight. How are you getting on? It's all very exciting!
wondered if anyone can help - I'm looking to surprise my partner by hiring him a 'posh' car to drive to the Elixir for our wedding on 2nd June. I've seen some pics where others have done this in either a Ferrari or Porsche, however none of the companies are responding via email and struggling to get anyone via phone. Has anyone else done this or knows which company is best and/or most reasonable???
Hi Gemma - it may not be "posh" but it is different and cool I think; we're using a vintage VW van to be picked up in. My fiancee first and then me and my dad. You may want to look into it and otherwise they may be able to help you - they've been quick in answering me even with other then transport question: ****@********************.*** (also on Facebook as vintagebus4rentibiza).
Basically me and the fiance booked in the UK and it got so ridiculous to the point where we had 150 guests, crazy extras like candy carts etc. and have now decided to bin it and just go to Ibiza with 30 guests and get married there. Looking at summer 2015
We have a budget for the wedding of around £8,000 to £10,000 do you guys think this is realistic? - looking at places like Elixir or ibiza wedding shop.
Feeling pretty overwhelmed so any advice or info would be amazing:
You can def do an Ibiza wedding for 30 people for that budget.
Some venues will be better suited than others though - Elixir is fab but I think there is a minimum spend which might use up a lot of your budget (as its an exclusive venue) but def worth considering. Ibiza wedding shop is a good place to look too.
Best thing to do is get the wedding packages from all the ones your considering & compare all the costs.
Elixir 2015 bride, would love to know your secrets lol our wedding will only have around 50 guests and I think we will spend double what we would if we had it at home !
Hi Joanne! I’m an Elixir Bride too & am getting married 15th August this year! 50 guests is exactly what we’re having too! I’m with you on the budget – I think the majority of people think it’s cheap to get married abroad – this may well be the case in the Caribbean/Cyprus and such places but definitely not in Ibiza! Our wedding is costing us a small fortune but I am 100% confident that it will be worth every penny.
Elixir is stunning & I can’t wait to go back. Myself & my fiancé visited last August & saw the venue after a much smaller wedding than 50 – I was worried the tables/chairs would look lost in the venue but they really didn’t! I think 50 will be just perfect
For those asking about favours we’ve decided on lottery tickets – fingers crossed we have a winner!! We just wanted something easy to take over in our luggage and something in-expensive – let’s face it 80% of guests throw their favours away anyway! I’d sooner spend the money elsewhere!
Do any other Elixir brides know what the deal is with confetti? I’ve ordered the petals Vickki suggested but not sure if they come with a basket / confetti cones?! What have past brides done?
Nope not long at all – it’s flown by, starting to get VERY excited! You will love it, Vickki is so lovely too!
The majority of our party are staying at The Grand Palladium Resort in Playa D’en Bossa, we visited last year and had a little nosey round the hotel – just what we wanted. It’s not worked out to be the cheapest choice but if you can’t have luxury for your wedding when can you have it?!
I know a lot of people that get married out in Ibiza book villas to share with their family & friends which is a fab idea but I’ve learnt from the experience of some of my guests that they get booked up VERY quickly! So if you’re thinking of going down that route I’d start planning asap!
Has anyone seen the white ibiza wedding guide? I didn't like the location of Elixir when visiting but now wondering is pictures of other ovations also make them look better. Anyone any ideas on Pura Vida or Amante??
