Planning a wedding in Ibiza

Hi, I get married in Cas Mila on 25th August! 62 days and counting!!

Can I please ask, this might sound like a stupid question but if I pay cash instead of cheque I can avoid paying VAT/ tax? Because if I can save 21% I will be very happy!!!

yeah i have too, but she is double the cost and we only want 1 hour for sunset so not sure what to do!!

Vickyandjohn2014 we are getting married at cas mila too. I've spoken to Candi and she is aware that we are paying cash and it's all ok. I would suggest you email her to ask so she has a heads up x

Can I ask what decor items you all went with, there are so many lovely things to choose from Ivan see myself getting carried away but the venue is so beautiful anyway I'm wondering what you all have chosen??

I emailed her yesterday but now the wedding season is getting into full swing Candi isn't as fast to reply which I completely understand, its just a little frustrating waiting for answers! .

Can I also be cheeky and ask what you are doing for your table plan and how you will display this?

Yes that is my understanding.

We have made hanging love hearts for our table plan and will be hanging this from a wishing tree.

Ive seen some good ideas with the table plans being pegged to the inside of a suitcase/wicker basket also. x

Yeah I was thinking of the suitcase idea but also my theme is travel so was thinking world map but didn't know how to get it there and how it would be displayed?!

Its so difficult and there are some fab ideas.

I have made them out of card and tied them together with ivory ribbon.

I am taking them out in my hand luggage with me. I would have sent them over with all my stuff I sent via courier but I haven't made them yet.

The map idea sounds good, depending how big it is could you take it in your hand luggage?

Not yet as I still need to make them, ha! will send over pictures once they are done.

yes not long, starting to get a little nervous now. Most thibgs are sorted, just need to sort music out.

Weve gone for the bbq package, added Fire dancers and the Pro Lighting package and LOVE in lights, extra alter flowers.

We have also booked Ana Lui's Video team to film it for us.

Yes we are going for the bbq and fire dancers too, will have a saxaphone player too for sunset i think which is what im looking into now!

is the pro lighting worth doing then?

Ive been told the pro lighting gives a nice finishing touch to the venue, but its obviously up to you whether you go for it or not.

The love in lights might be included now in the package but when we did it it was an extra 50euro.

Yes I sent over a picture of my bouquet and what I wanted, she will also send you over the cupcake document for you to pick what you want, weve paid for a small cake to put on the top so we can cut.

We have kept Anne the photographer included in the package for our photos, but having Ana Lui's video team for the video.

We have 80 guests coming.

We are flying with First choice as we have booked the whole holiday through them. The shop are packing my dress into a holdall for me and my mum is going to take it on the plane with her so my other half doesn't see it. x

Hi Cazza01, I was wondering now that your wedding is so close, has candi asked you for the finer details of your day, like what style/colour of cupcakes you want and type of welcome cocktails etc? Also vegitarian options for dinner? You must be so excited! I'm getting married 25th September at cas mila :-) xx

Hi Angela, Yes I sent all that over in the planner quite a while ago. We haven't gone for The welcome cocktails (extra cost). I was given 3 different options for vegetarians, ive only got 1 and she went for the veg lasagne.

Hi Cazza, yeah planning is going well, it has all be very smooth and enjoyable so far! This forum has been a great help, wish I could get some feedback on the DJ included in the package but I'm sure he will be great. I have sent Candi our planner but thought she would clarify some stuff/choices... probably closer to the time. I see you went with ann lui's team for your video, we tried to get them but they are already booked for our day so we have went with Candi's one, I think a video will be a great keepsake!

Sa Punta is nice but expensive, El Chiringuito de Cala Gracioneta is fantastic and an absolute bargain to boot - one of my very favourite venues and definitely one of the best planners; every wedding looks so different and so personal :-)

The DJ is Candi's son - he does every one of her weddings at Cas Mila now as it's compulsory to hire him and his equipment, even if you book another DJ to play the music.

He's in his early twenties and I think he only plays at weddings at the moment.

I DJ with Deva and Laura a fair bit - what do you need to know?

What are your favourite wedding venues, if you don't mind me asking? We're in the midst of deciding and El Chiringuito in San An is top of the list so far.

I'm sure he will be fine, if we're giving him a list of music hopefully not much can go wrong.

I love El Chiringuito in Cala Gracioneta and Hacienda Na Xamena in Puerto San Miguel. Totally different, but both amazing :-)

You really can't beat a villa wedding though!!

Thanks, we're also looking into villas that can hold over 100 guests.

Unfortunately, Hacienda is way out of our price range.

You're welcome. If you're on a budget then you really can't beat El Chiringuito. It's not just about price though - Axwell from the Swedish House Mafia got married there and he's loaded!!!
