I have my wedding booked ( in England ) however we done this to please every one else!!! We have now booked flights out to Ibiza in a few weeks time as that is where we originally dreamed of getting married.
We have appointments to visit Elixir, cas mila and el Chiringuito... Any other suggestions? Want to make it worth our while
1. Has any 2015 brides got flights sorted yet, I'm worried about the flight days hoping for weds or thurs as our wedding is a Sunday next September ?
2. Can I ask a question to previous ELIXIR brides or 2014 brides if too personal tell me to mind my own lol can I get a rough £price of your wedding at elixir everything included.. Even a bracket would be great . I know all weddings are different but just something to go on.
surely the prices there will all be pretty similar, no?
in the popular wedding venues they have weddings almost every day so each wedding has to be more or less identical - the only thing that really varies is the number of guests.
most of them even have a set menu and decoration etc. so it should be pretty easy to work out a total cost, simply based on someone else's wedding of a similar size at the same venue.
hopefully another elixir bride from this year can give you an idea of the total figure soon :-)
Hi Joanna,
We are in the same boat re flights. Apart from package holidays for 7 nights through Thomson's etc, flights through EasyJet/Monarch/RyanAir/BA etc don't tend to release until 6-9 months beforehand which is a nightmare for us brides who are trying to accommodate guests! They won't even confirm what days they fly from which airports so it has to be largely guess work with getting accommodation booked really
Regarding the flights, its really frustrating as i am booked for May 2015 and easy jet and monarch are not out yet but the BA flights are! so nothing to compare! I think we will go with BA as i think it would be nicer to fly with especially with my dress!
Can i ask how is everyone planning on getting there dresses out to Ibiza?
Also any Casa Mila brides.... did the pro DJ lighting make a difference to the venue?
Check out Norwegian Airlines, they now fly to Ibiza and i booked last November for flights this August, really cheap (when booking 9 months in advance) and loads of luggage allowance (we have 60kg between the two of us).
My dress is staying firmly with me in my hand luggage! After the alterations, they will pack my dress properly and then it's not leaving my sight!!
By the way, Gibby - Vickki accepts any euro denominations which is great as 200 or 500 euro notes will take up a lot less room! Just make sure you have less than£10k per person then you don't have to declare anything at customs xx
Hi Nikki, the bridal shop I bought my dress from are going to pack it for me in my hand luggage case the day before or the morning we fly out. They said if I hang it up as soon as I arrive, any creases will fall out so wont need to get it steamed or anything in Ibiza (I have 5 days in ibiza before wedding).
I haven't booked the pro-lighting package but Candi has some pics of it on the facebook page. x
Our wedding is 25th Sept this year. We have gone for the BBQ meal option and using photographer and DJ included in the package. We are adding welcome cocktails and think we will add a small cake to the cupcakes so that we have something to cut. We have also added the wedding videographer that Candi can supply, we tried to get ana lui's video team but they weren't available for our day.
How much have the welcome cocktails cost? i would like to do that, but thought it would work out better by putting some money behind the bar for everyone.
have you been quoted for small cake with the cupcakes?
is the video costing alot? we have opted out of video and spending more on the photographer so going with Gypsy.
Welcome cocktails are 6euro p/p. I haven't got quote yet for small cake. The video is a highlight video and cost 450euro. Gypsy Westwood photos look beautiful.
I got back from Ibiza this morning and for any Elixir brides out there you are in for a right treat! Our day was perfect and Una really helped to make the day run so smoothly. Some of our guests are VERY hard to please and even they loved the venue, the food and how the day went. Every single one of our guests enjoyed the day and commented on how superb the food was - to the point every single day after someone would comment "oh can't we just go back to the Elixir to eat tonight?" Vickki and Leah made the planning very stress free too which made my day as I'm stressed and snappy enough with my job I didn't want to be a bridezilla too!
Corina and Elia from Smack Ibiza did my hair and make up which was just done to perfection. I didn't have a trial beforehand as I knew anything they could do would be a million times better than what I could do. Prior to the wedding, people would look at me with concern when I said I wasn't having a trial but I'm glad I didn't as it was such a lovely surprise to see myself all made up on the day! Think my husband's reaction when he saw me walking down the aisle was a good indicator as to how decent the hair and make up was too ;-)
Good luck to all you future Ibiza brides and enjoy every moment - wish I could relive the day all again xxx
Thank you! The Elixir is stunning. We went to see the Elixir, Amante, Pura Vida, Atzaro and Cas Mila but the Elixir was more the sort of style we were looking for.
We couldn't afford a videographer in the end but if money were no object that's the one thing I would have done different. For our photos we had Emma at Gypsy Westwood. We haven't seen the photos yet but she was cool. Didn't even realise she was there half the time as she was off taking lots of natural shots of us and the guests which is the style we like.
we didn't hire a villa as it would have got way too complicated with who was staying there, so we told everyone that we were staying at the Marina Palace in the outskirts of San Antonio (about a 15 minute drive from the Elixir) and who ever could join us were more than welcome to. Over half our guests stayed there in the end and my husbands family and their friends stayed in Santa Eulalia as they know that area well and some of them have time shares there. Couldn't fault the Marina Palace - very good self catering apartments and everyone said they would happily stay there again.
We had the Elixir's DJ who was good. He took down our playlist prior to the wedding and took lots of requests.
Further advice - if you're going for the elixir don't bother paying for the parasols/umbrellas as no one used them as they were very conscious the person behind them couldn't see the ceremony. Also I would definitely recommend paying for the extra canapés as they went down a storm with our guests - to the point people were waiting by the kitchen door for more to come out! And lastly I wouldn't bother paying for the dessert table - we didn't but our guests were stuffed by the end of the BBQ and were only interested at drinking at that point so we saw lots of the standard desserts go to waste. It would have broke my heart if we had paid extra for the dessert table only for it to all go to waste!
I'll send you a few pics of the venue in a bit xxx
Can I ask what decor items you went with for Elixir - I'm currently going through the items now for my June 15 wedding.
Can I also ask how far in advance you booked your accommodation - I've been looking today & most things are coming back fully booked already? Do people think its cos June/July 15 rooms haven't been released yet or things are actually getting booked up??
Hi Lj_ibizababy! Was that meant for me? If so we had quite a few of their extras - flower arch with love sign, pew ends with lace and flowers, love sign on the tent, light up love sign (which everybody loved and lots of pics were taken under it throughout the day and night), scattered candles, flowers round the standard centre pieces, dress up box (which was good for a few pics but no one used it after that) and the table plan photoframe. It looks stunning anyway without all of those.
accommodation wise, we found that hardly anything was coming up available when we booked a year in advance. We knew we wanted the marina palace though which was showing available. When the bulk of people booked in January of this year, there were lots more hotels showing available plus the marina palace had dropped their prices considerably so we cancelled our booking and rebooked it at the lower price. I think they release the prices maybe 10 months in advance for most hotels or maybe even less.
Thanks Jojoco84 sounds fab! Would love to see some pics if your going to post some.
Thanks for hotel info - I have been looking at the Marina Palace for our family - it's coming up available at the mo so I might book it & keep an eye on it.
I originally signed up to this forum as I work in Ibiza and quite a few of the villas I rent out are to couples getting married here so it's nice to know whats going on behind the scenes!
Since then my boyfriend actually proposed in Ibiza so now i'm keeping an eye on the forum to see if anything can help make up my mind as to whether to get married here or in the UK. Ibiza doesn't really feel like a holiday to me anymore so i'm swaying towards the UK at the moment!
I don't ever post comments but I noticed someone talking about smack Ibiza on the thread and living here I get my hair done by Kinga who also works for Smack Ibiza so I can vouch for how good good she is. If anyone has booked her but is worried then you can put your mind at ease you'll have gorgeous hair. Her website ibiza wedding hair is a bit dated now but she keeps her facebook page updated so there's more of her contemporary stuff on there.
Dnevers - you don't know how happy you made me reading your recent posts! My wedding is at Elixir in less than 9 weeks and and totally wasn't worried about anything to do with the venue - it just speaks for itself doesn't it, but reading how smoothly it all went and how happy your guests were is amazing - I'm so excited and has reminded me not to keep worrying about every little detail. What was the light up letters you had by the way, i don't recall seeing that in the bible.
I would love to see some pics if you have any - *******@***.*** xx
Dnevers thank you so much for your emails it's amazing to see the venue. You looked absolutely stunning! I love this forum )
Simply Villas any information you have on properties I would love to hear from you, our wedding is 13th Sept 2015 around 50 guests divided up, ideally all in the same area ?
