Does anyone have any advice on bridesmaid dresses? I don't like ur normal bridemaid dresses! Where has everyone got there's from?? I do like the twobirds dressss but just concern most people have this style and there £250 each so just wondering if I could get something different for a bit cheaper. Xx

The car we had (the white rolls royce) was booked through candi at ibiza wedding shop. We payed extra for the upgrade from the normal audi or mercedes which are in the package.
The flowers i had was a brooch bouquet which i made and took over i also made all my own button holes and flower girl wand! (I have a good flower supply shop near me!) so i didn't need to pay for the flowers in the package
I had a dress code of white or light but people still wore colours on the day!
No special tips really just enjoy the planning and don't worry it all comes together on the day!
It's so exciting reading all of your posts, although slightly daunting at the same time. I've only recently got engaged so I'm at the beginning of the wedding planning process. My partner and I are looking into getting married in Ibiza. It's the only place abroad I would want to get married. Its a beautiful island and we go there most years for a summer holiday. I'd be looking at having a small wedding for about 50 people as I will be having a party back home too. I know I want to get married in a church as I am Catholic although my partner is not. Would this be a problem? A friend of a friend recently got married is es cubelles church and then hired a private villa for her reception. I'd be looking to do the same. Has anyone any advice on private villa hire? I've read that sometimes it's easier and costs less to have the reception in a restaurant or hotel. Any thoughts? Your advice would be much appreciated!
Hi, just got married in Casa Mila last week and it was amazing! our guests were totally blown away by the venue and candi was amazing.
The photo booth, isn't a booth as such, it's a big fluffy heart with a box of props and one of candi's team take pictures with a polaroid camera and we were expecting a booth like the ones over here in the wedding shows, but it was a good laugh and we did get about 40 pics out of it (if not more a few more) but it was a good laugh, we did think about doing the same on our own, like taking the camera and the film and props, but I think it would have worked out a similar amount if we'd got the bits and it was less hassle.
Hi! I've just come back from Ibiza; we got married in Cas Mila a week ago I can honestly say it more than exceeded my expectations- Candi is super efficient, the food was lovely and there was absolutely loads of it, and there was a lot more wine than I ever thought there would be. The staff are brilliant and looked after all of our guests incredibly well, no one took more than two sips of a drink before being topped up!
I was really impressed with the photographer; very relaxed and calm, happy to give people a break to mingle.
Its so good to hear that it all went well ....................... Did you arrange any other get-togethers with your guests after the wedding?? We are all staying at different locations but though it would be nice to meet for drinks / nibbles at a venue day or two afterwards. Candi says they don't organise this but there are lots of nice venues....... unfortunately we don't know the island so don't know were to start looking!!
Sez2bwatley, which day was yours? We were just in cala tarida last week and we saw a beautiful wedding going on at Cas Mila. Bride's dress was gorgeous!
Getting married in a Church is no problem if one of you is catholic! It's what I did for my wedding last year. My husband is not catholic but I am. I recommend you going through Sam ************@*****.** to organize the wedding in the Church. She charges a fee but it was well worthwhile for us because she was absolutely wonderful and able to guide us through getting all the paperwork done and setting everything up and the fee also includes the donation to the church (which is necessary) and the live music an organ/piano playing during the ceremony (which was beautiful) She was even able to set up a cava and refreshments for after the ceremony in the church square. We really loved having the wedding at the church, it was just gorgeous.
We also did a private villa reception/party as well. We were really very happy with our choice. The villa was just amazing. I personally liked it as opposed to the restaurant because the party can go longer and also because you get to stay at this gorgeous place for a week with your friends. The villa was not cheap, but what we did was pay for half and the split the other half amongst our friends who were staying there. We considered that we would have had to pay an exclusivity fee anyway for most restaurants, so this was about the same and we got an amazing place to stay. I’m going to post some pics, stay tuned.
We are travelling to Ibiza Sunday for our wedding next Thursday at Elixir. Can any of the previous brides/grooms that have got married in Ibiza tell me whether they took cash to pay for their suppliers and also what they did at the Airport, i.e. did they declare the Euros to customs via the HM Revenue & Customers form for cash declaration or as you weren't leaving the EU you didn't need to declare?
Just looking for some advice on what you did at the airport and whether customs questioned or stopped regarding the amount of money you were taking through security?
Hi Katie we had €14000 with us and didn't have to declare it. I did take my invoice and email confirmation if prices though so if we did get stopped we had proof what we were paying. X
Oh good luck Katie, we travel on Wednesday to see Elixir cannot wait out wedding isn't until next September ! Who have you went with for celebrant , photographer and videographer ?
Oh that's great to know, thank you!! Did you go through Gatwick? I kept getting differing information online so good to hear from someone that's actually had to do it
Aww do you, you will love it! I fell in love with it when i first saw it last year... lovely venue with an amazing view!
We have gone with Anna Brooks for the celebrant, Gypsy Westwood for photographer and Ana Lui's video team for the videographer Heard really great things about all of them.
I'm getting married in Elixir next August, we're also going out in a couple of weeks for a holiday too, can't wait! We're in the process of getting everything booked up and arranging accommodation etc. I'd really appreciate some help on a couple of things...
Firstly, has anyone used Gypsy's Emma for their photography? There are a few images on the micro site but not loads, I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has used her, photography is important for us so any pointers would be greatly received!
Secondly, we're looking into accommodation, for us we're keen to stay somewhere nice walking distance to a beach preferably south of the island, can anyone recommend anywhere? Also looking for a villa good for children (for my parents, my sister and her husband and 2 children to stay) again they are beach goers rather than pool so somewhere close to the beach would be ideal.
Finally, we're booking lovely laura for the evening, just can't decide whether to go with Ben Santiago or the resident DJ Steve with her - anyone had either of these that can give me some advice please??
Any help with any of these things would be really appreciated!!
The venue and accommodation is booked and we're now looking into some of the finer points.
Our venue recommended Sean Fearon as a celebrant, but I haven't been able to find much out about him so was wondering if anyone has heard of or booked him? We won't be able to get out there again this year unfortunately, and don't want to leave it until May next year as I imagine we will have trouble finding one then. Seems nice on email, but I'd love some first person feedback.
Also, we are looking at hiring a mini bus to do shuttle runs back and forth from the venue to the town where our guests are staying throughout the evening, does anyone have recommendations of reasonable companies to use?
We are also trying to decide between lovely Laura and a fire show to end - decisions decisions!
Finally, we are stuck as for what to do re a DJ...from what i have read all of the DJs are Ibiza DJs and don't do 'wedding music'. Whilst we don't want anything cheesey, we do want a mix as we have a total mix of people and ages going - can anyone recommend someone?
Thanks in advance for your help...just over a year to go, eeek!
This is my first post, i am getting married next year at Elixir and wondered if anyone could send me some pictures of their weddings, I am looking to have Emma from Gypsy weddings and wondered if anyone else has had her too? I dont know whether to go with Ana Lui?
Also can anyone recommend a Videographer and has anyone had a video booth at Elixir?
please send any pictures to ************@**********.***
A million congrats to everyone who got hitched recently! I have a mere 17 days to go, amazing!
What have people done about presents for your mum and mum-in-law, can't have the usual bouquet of flowers! I was thinking of getting them entry and lunch to the spa at Atzaro, but will take a bit of arranging.
And what about dads - I always feel like he gets left out (couldn't come dress shopping so missed out on the consequent lunches etc, girlie spa weekend etc) so wanted to get him something, but not the usual engraved cufflinks/tankard/hip flask! xx
You're right - most wedding DJs in Ibiza are either one or the other - club DJs that hate playing weddings and only do it for the money; or really cheesy wedding DJs that are no good at playing the cool stuff.
I play at Space but I have a very eclectic style and I actually love doing weddings, as long as I'm a good fit for the crowd and the job. Please email me on *****@*******.**.** with some more details and I'll let you know if I can help....
Thanks for your response, I've sent you an email with some details.
Do you happen to know anything about Sean Fearon? I'm really reluctant to book when I haven't heard of anyone else using him and as an islander, it would be great if you're able to shed any light at all?
